Mamta Kulkarni, a popular Bollywood actress from the 90s, was a part of several hit films during her career. One of her most memorable roles was in the 1995 blockbuster Karan Arjun, where she starred alongside two of the biggest names in Indian cinema, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Rakesh Roshan, the film became iconic for its dramatic storyline and powerful dialogues. However, things weren’t as smooth behind the scenes as they seemed.

In a recent interview, Mamta opened up about an incident from the sets of Karan Arjun, revealing that both Salman and Shah Rukh once mocked her and even shut a door in her face. The actress, who has since stepped away from the film industry and embraced a spiritual path, recalled how the two actors played pranks on her during the film’s shoot.

The kindest thing that can be said about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is that it’s unpredictable. There is little in it to prepare you for a climactic twist which is, in equal measure, audacious and ridiculous. While well-intentioned, it’s staged so clumsily that it fails to evoke the required empathy. But I will say — I did not see it coming.

In each, the real culprit causing the leading lady to turn into Manjulika, the unhinged spirit of a royal dancer, was eventually identified as dissociative identity disorder.

A con-man, Rooh Baba (Kartik Aaryan), earning his living as a ghost-buster is employed by Meera (Triptii Dimri) and her maternal uncle (Rajesh Sharma) to bust a myth in the haveli of a king. Trust me when I say this, if there was anything that could have lightened my Diwali this year, it was the only hope to witness Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan Ami-Je-Tomaring together in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The cast of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is currently shooting for the psychological horror thriller. The threequel stars Vidya Balan, Kartik Aaryan and Tripti Dimri. Madhuri Dixit has also joined the cast recently. The third film is helmed by Anees Bazmee, who also directed the sequel that was released in 2022.

58 years after the iconic, Oscar award-winning and only official film adaptation of the classic musical play ‘The Sound of Music’, an Ias officer turned filmmaker Paparao Biyyala is gearing for the release of his debut film ‘Music School’, which marks to be the the first Indian film to obtain the rights of the classical play.

The timeless classic broadway production ‘The Sound of Music’ written and composed by Rodgers, and Hammerstien in 1959, has been etched in the history of popular culture ever since. Over a decade later, Robert Wise presented the first film adaptation of the musical with the same name in 1965 and won five academy awards.

Almost six decades later, writer-director Paparao Biyyala has obtained the official rights of the music for the broadway musical for his debut film ‘Music School‘.

The cast includes Shriya Saran, Sharman Joshi and Prakash Raj in leading roles, in addition to debutant Ozu Barua and Gracy Goswamy in key roles. Benjamin Gilani, Suhasini Mulay, Mona Ambeognkar, Leela Samson, Bugs Bhargava, Vinay Varma, Sreekanth Iyengar, Vaquar Sheikh and Phani are also part of the cast.

Veteran Indian composer Ilaiyaraaja has recreated the songs along with the London Philharmonic Orchestra to suit the sensibilities of an Indian audience.

The musical was adapted as a 1965 film by Robert Wise, starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, which went on to win five Oscars and also had two live television adaptations – on NBC in 2013 and ITV in 2015.

“Music School” is directed by Indian civil service officer-turned filmmaker Paparao Biyyala, who has obtained the rights for three songs from “The Sound of Music” – “Do Re Mi,” “So Long Farewell” and “Sixteen Going on Seventeen.” Veteran Indian composer Ilaiyaraaja has recreated the songs along with the London Philharmonic Orchestra to suit the sensibilities of an Indian audience.

“Music School” deals with the academic pressure faced by young students from society, parents and teachers. The film has eleven songs in all. Some of the songs are choreographed by the U.K.

Shriya Saran, Sharman Joshi, Shaan and Prakash Raj will be seen together for an Ilaiyaraaja multi-lingual musical film titled ‘Music School’, releasing on 12th May, 2023. On Tuesday, 28th March at an event in Hyderabad, graced by presence of renowned film producer and distributor Dil Raju, the makers unveiled the first poster of the musical featuring Shriya Saran with a bunch of kids driving through the picturesque locations of Goa.

Prominent producer and distributor Dil Raju said, “Depicting the serious subject of academic pressure endured by young school kids in a light-hearted and entertaining approach via music, the film has a total of 11 songs that drive the narrative of the film. Three out of eleven songs are from The Sound of Music, which were woven beautifully in to this Indian Musical.”

Mumbai, March 28 (Ians) A special Holi sequence was shot for the show RadhaKrishn.

For the sequence, Bollywood choreographers Rekha and Chinni Prakash were roped in and more than 1000 kg of colour has been used.

Actor Sumedh Mudgalkar, who plays the role of Krishn in the show, says that the sequence was loved by the viewers.

"Holi sequences are always special for us at the show We got a great response for the sequence. The experience of working with Rekha ji and Chinni Prakash sir was very good and peaceful. Work happened smoothly. We take time to understand how beautiful a shot is. We only realise it when we see it on screen. This sequence was surely a visual treat," he told Ians.

He also adds that proper Covid protocols were followed during the shoot. "We maintained social distancing and followed everything else too. It was a learning experience for all of us on the set.

About the song, which is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and choreographed by Chinni Prakash, Sonakshi said, “Right from when I met Sajid to discuss the song, its beat and catchy tune really appealed to me. I have been approached to do disco numbers earlier too, but refused. The song from Himmatwala was something different…it takes you back to the 80’s and I enjoyed the experience.”

Mumbai, Jan 18: Tight leather pants and shiny dresses - the 1980s era saw it all. Now, new age actress Sonakshi Sinha is taking cue from actresses like Sridevi and Parveen Babi for a retro disco number that she has shot for the "Himmatwala" remake.

The number, choreographed by Chinni Prakash, is called "Thank god it's Friday".

The movie's director, Sajid Khan, wanted to give Sonakshi the look of Sridevi and Parveen Babi. He roped in designer Manish Malhotra and Sonakshi, who admits working hard for the song, is happy with the result.

New Delhi, Jan 4: Sonakshi Sinha will adapt the 1980s' disco style of dance for "Thank god it's Friday", a special song in "Himmatwala" remake.

The song, to be choreographed by Chinni Prakash, will have almost 100 dancers and 400 extras, said a source.

New Delhi, June 2: Amitabh Bachchan will be showcasing his dancing and singing skills when he makes a special appearance in the title song of 'Bol Bachchan'.

After lending his deep mesmerizing baritone to the blockbuster 'Kahaani', earlier this year, the Shehenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan is back to his singing ways. Big B does not only showcase his dance moves, choreographed by Chinni.

Yes, we have the three A’s and three of the best in Hindi cinema Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Ajay Devgn grooving to the beat of Bol Bachchan’s title song!

Not only has Mr. Bachchan made this cool cameo, he also sung on the track, he said earlier, “I spent the day recording for the song to be picturised on Abhishek, Ajay and myself for Bol Bachchan, a film directed by Rohit Shetty. It seemed a fun song, with lyrics and words taken from some of my old ones.” You may recognize some of the scenes and some of the iconic dialogues in the song video including Anthony Gonsalves from Amar Akbar Anthony and other dialogs from his films.

When Chinni Prakash started shooting the title track of Bol Bachchan with Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan at Mumbai's Film City Studios last week, he was pleasantly surprised to see Bachchan's passion for his work. "The last time I had choreographed dance moves for him, it was for 'Jumma Chumma De De' for Hum. At that time he would rehearse ten times and watch me twenty times before he faced the camera and I was surprised to see that he still follows the same rule. Rohit Shetty is all set to shoot the title song of the film Bol Bachchan. What's unique about this is that the track will feature none other than Amitabh Bachchan who will be seen shaking a leg with film's lead actors Abhishek Bachchan and Ajay Devgn.

Choreographer Ahmed Khan, a close friend of both Ranbir and especially Shahid Kapoor, was recently caught in a very uncomfortable situation where both the Kapoor stars required Khan's choreographic acumen. Indian Film Dance Directors Association (Ifdda) hosted an event to felicitate the veteran and present day choreographers on the occasion of Choreographers' Day on Jan 9. Present at the event were choreographers Vaibhavi Merchant, Saroj Khan, Farah Khan, Ahmed Khan, Remo D'Souza, Terence Lewis, Longinus Fernandes, Shruti Merchant, Umesh Jadhav, Seemaa Desai, Madhav Kishan, Baba Harman, Cinoo Kumar, and many more.
