Image

Mamta Kulkarni, a popular Bollywood actress from the 90s, was a part of several hit films during her career. One of her most memorable roles was in the 1995 blockbuster Karan Arjun, where she starred alongside two of the biggest names in Indian cinema, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Rakesh Roshan, the film became iconic for its dramatic storyline and powerful dialogues. However, things weren’t as smooth behind the scenes as they seemed.

In a recent interview, Mamta opened up about an incident from the sets of Karan Arjun, revealing that both Salman and Shah Rukh once mocked her and even shut a door in her face. The actress, who has since stepped away from the film industry and embraced a spiritual path, recalled how the two actors played pranks on her during the film’s shoot.

‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ Review: A Slapdash Sequel Suggests It’s Time To Lay This Hindi Horror-Comedy Franchise To Rest
Image
The kindest thing that can be said about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is that it’s unpredictable. There is little in it to prepare you for a climactic twist which is, in equal measure, audacious and ridiculous. While well-intentioned, it’s staged so clumsily that it fails to evoke the required empathy. But I will say — I did not see it coming.

Otherwise, we are back in familiar territory. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise started with the classic 1993 Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu, which was remade in Hindi in 2007. Both versions delivered a skillful cocktail of laughs and scares without true paranormal activity. In each, the real culprit causing the leading lady to turn into Manjulika, the unhinged spirit of a royal dancer, was eventually identified as dissociative identity disorder.

But when director Anees Bazmee took over the reins with the 2022 reboot, the horror became real. Black magic, spirits, jump scares, ominous backgrounds and, of course,...

What’s Good: The zany goings-on, and the hilarious lines well-supported by visuals

What’s Bad: Some needless and bad songs

Loo Break: Only if you are scared!

Watch or Not?: Of course! This Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a-‘maze’-ing in many ways!

Language: Hindi

A con-man, Rooh Baba (Kartik Aaryan), earning his living as a ghost-buster is employed by Meera (Triptii Dimri) and her maternal uncle (Rajesh Sharma) to bust a myth in the haveli of a king. The fable to be falsified (for a remuneration of a crore!) is that a spirit named Manjulika (Vidya Balan) resides behind a locked room in the palace.

Vidya Balan & Madhuri Dixit In A Glimpse From Bhulaiyaa 3 Song Ami Je Tomar 3.0! (Photo Credit – YouTube)

Trust me when I say this, if there was anything that could have lightened my Diwali this year, it was the only hope to witness Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan Ami-Je-Tomaring together in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. In fact, I was so excited about this heavenly union of the two legends of the Indian Cinema that I even chose to ignore an underwhelming trailer that was compensated by just a glimpse of these two actresses!

But some dreams should never turn into a reality. And as heartbreakingly as I realize, I do realize that anticipating this union, probably with so much excitement, could have jinxed this song that has finally been released, and oh my god – what did I just see!

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is all set to battle against Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe giant Singham Again,...

Sonakshi hits the disco
Sonakshi Sinha, who has been making sincere efforts to shrug off the desi girl tag, may get an opportunity to seriously glam up after all. After shaking a leg with Prabhudeva in the ‘Go Go Govinda’ song from Omg, the actress will make her second special appearance in Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala in an introductory song. Here’s the scoop!

The song, by Sachin-Jigar and sung by the great Sunidhi Chauhan, apparently has been “inspired” by the discos of the late 70s-early 80s, with reflective dance floors, mirrors and all things shiny. According to sources, the look and feel may just remind you of the ‘Jawani jaanernan’ song from Namak Halal, in which Parveen Babi dazzled in gold.

A source close to the development said, “Sajid has conceived of this lavish introductory song for which he wanted Sonakshi. She has a certain rustic image that she has been trying to break out of.

This one would have the gorgeous Malaika Arora-Khan joining in with Salman.

Says Arbaaz, "We have already shot the Pandeyji number. It's choreographed by Chinni Prakash. Yes, Malaika makes an appearance with Salman. We thought it would be a nice reference back to the 'Munni' number from Dabangg. I don't know how you define an item song. If it's just a catchy number then we've three item songs in Dabangg 2. If it's a big-name actress making a guest appearance to dance, then Kareena's 'Fevicol' number is the only item song."

Arbaaz says he has almost completed the entire shooting of Dabangg 2. "I've a couple of songs, and that's it. There's only ten days of shooting left. We had to make sure...

Ajay Devgn
Chinni Prakash on choreographing Big B after 21 yrs
Ajay Devgn
When Chinni Prakash started shooting the title track of Bol Bachchan with Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan at Mumbai's Film City Studios last week, he was pleasantly surprised to see Bachchan's passion for his work. "The last time I had choreographed dance moves for him, it was for 'Jumma Chumma De De' for Hum. At that time he would rehearse ten times and watch me twenty times before he faced the camera and I was surprised to see that he still follows the same rule. Watching him do so many rehearsals, Ajay and Abhishek had no choice but to follow suit!" laughed Prakash, adding that the star would be on the sets by eleven in the morning and had to be told to go to his van for lunch, and when the shoot was over had to be gently reminded that it was time to go home. Ahmed Khan caught between Ranbir - Shahid
Choreographer Ahmed Khan, a close friend of both Ranbir and especially Shahid Kapoor, was recently caught in a very uncomfortable situation where both the Kapoor stars required Khan's choreographic acumen. Finally Ranbir got Ahmed's coveted dates while Shahid to whom Ahmed Khan was committed had to shoot two of his songs with a choreographer Chinni Prakash, leaving the situation rather helplessly unsavory for all the three parties concerned. Says a source, "It was a very peculiar situation with both Shahid and Ranbir equally adamant on getting Ahmed on board, almost like those T. Rama Rao melodramatic triangles in the 1980s where two heroines would fight over who got Jeetendra. Though ultimately Ranbir bagged Ahmed, the choreographer was very unhappy about letting his childhood friend down. You see, Ahmed and Shahid go back a long way. They've known each other from childhood. When Ahmed turned producer with Paathshaala, Shahid was an integral part of the project.

Choreographer Ahmed Khan, a close friend of both Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, was recently caught in a very uncomfortable situation where both the the stars required his acumen. Finally Ranbir got Ahmed.s coveted dates, while Shahid shot two of his songs with choreographer Chinni Prakash. However there are no hard feelings between Ahmed and Shahid..It is true I had to opt out two songs with Shahid for Kunal Kohli.s film to do the short film with Ranbir. But there was no other way out. Ranbir.s film is a totally new experience. He has narrated an entire love story in four minutes,. he said..We had to use a 100 Nissan cars, arrange expert drivers from Bangalore and Mumbai. It was an entirely new experience. In fact, Shahid was most co-operative. He advised me to go for the Ranbir project. I felt sorry to see Shahid do...

Agneepath Movie Review
Remakes definitely have it tough. Not only do they have to go through the usual grind of pleasing the audiences and doing well at the box office, they also have to bear the added burden of comparisons with the original. And in most cases, the huge expectations and comparisons often kill the remake. Agneepath is a remake of the 1990 Yash Johar production – a movie which was a box office failure but went on to become a cult – and there’s no doubt that people are waiting to decide whether this one works better than the original or not. Truly speaking, Agneepath is more of a tribute rather than a remake; it pays homage to the original, it itself states that the cult is difficult to recreate but at the same time urges you to watch it without any pre-notions. I am going to do this movie a favor – I will...
