Tom Cruise is known for pushing the limit when it comes to stunts, but now the families of two pilots who died on the set of his film American Made are claiming the actor might have taken things too far.

According to court documents provided to People by The Blast, the estates of the two dead pilots are claiming that Cruise and director Doug Liman’s insistence on filming a “high-risk, action-packed motion picture” contributed to the circumstances that led to the crash.

American Made star Sarah Wright Olsen is opening up to People about the plane crash that killed two stuntmen on the set of the Tom Cruise vehicle.

Although the actress had left the movie’s Columbia set by the time the fatal accident happened, Olsen says she had first-hand experience with how seriously production took safety into consideration. The movie, out Sept. 29, tells the story of Barry Seal, the real-life American pilot who smuggled drugs for Pablo Escobar and his cartel. Olsen plays Seal’s wife Lucy in the film.

The accident, which also injured a third crew member, already led to a civil suit on behalf of American stunt pilot Alan Purwin. Now The Hollywood Reporter brings word that a second wrongful death suit is being brought by the family of Venezuelan pilot Carlos Berl against the films’ producers.

The producers of a new Tom Cruise film, American Made, have been sued by the family of a pilot killed in an aeroplane accident during filming.

The complaint was filed on 14 September by the family of Carlos Berl following the crash of a twin-engined Piper Aerostar plane on 11 September 2015 in the Andes mountains near Medellín, Colombia. Berl died, along with experienced stunt pilot Alan Purwin. Another pilot, Jimmy Lee Garland, survived with serious injuries.
