Bob's Burgers Introduces Wagstaff's Newest Jim Henson-Loving Student
Image
The following contains spoilers for Bob's Burgers Season 13, Episode 12, "Amelia," which debuted May 23 on Fox.

Newcomer Jackie Quinn proved a fitting addition to the quirky student body of Wagstaff School, a central location for some of Bob's Burgers' most memorable episodes. In Season 13's finale, "Amelia," Louise sought the help of Quinn's Benj, a blue-haired boy who would rather spend his time making puppets than attending the wheelchair basketball practices imposed by his mother.

The Jim Henson-loving Benj instantly clicked into Bob's Burgers' world, brimming with kids who harbor eclectic hobbies and personalities. The unfolding tales of Wagstaff School rely on a versatile ensemble, including characters who can drive an entire episode's plot, such as Mr. Frond, or simply add to the show's quirky universe with character-driven one-liners such as John Robert's Jocelyn.

Foreplays #2: Lynne Ramsay's "Gasman"
Foreplays is a column that explores under-known short films by renowned directors. Lynn Ramsay's Gasman (1998) is free to watch below.Lynne Ramsay’s Gasman is a film about family, and a film made with family—the director’s own brother and niece play, respectively, the central father and daughter in the story. Two siblings, Lynne (Lynne Ramsay Jr.) and Steve (Martin Anderson), go to a Christmas party with their father (James Ramsay), while the mother (Denise Flannagan) remains at home. They briefly meet with a woman (Jackie Quinn) and her two kids (Lisa Taylor, Robert McEwan). The woman leaves, but her children join the party. Gasman is the story both of a perfectly banal evening, and of an exceptional event that serves to fracture the family unit, messing up all its usual roles, and dissolving the very idea of what is familiar. Ramsay achieves this by never losing sight either of the everyday,...

'Luther' Warren Brown on new show 'By Any Means': It's like The A-Team
Luther star Warren Brown has described his new show as "like The A-Team meets The Equalizer".

Brown will play the lead in BBC One's new drama By Any Means, from writer Tony Jordan (Life On Mars, Hustle).

"I play a character called Jack Quinn, who's in charge of a team and their brief is to catch criminals by any means," Brown told Digital Spy. "It's of the crime genre, but they're not actually police. They go after criminals that the police can't catch, for whatever reason.

"It's a bit of a dysfunctional family - different members of the team have different skills and they're called upon when required.

"I tried to describe it and I said, 'It's like The A-Team meets The Equalizer', and then I thought, 'I would absolutely bloody watch that!''

Brown also explained that By Any Means is lighter fare than his recent work on the BBC's Luther and Good Cop.
