- Father of Gracia Querejeta.
- He was a professional soccer player for San Sebastián's Real Sociedad. and directed two documentaries, one about San Sebastián and the other about soccer. In 1963, he moved to Madrid and became a producer.
- He produced important works of many of the most challenging filmmakers of the New Spanish Cinema. In the waning days of Franco's dictatorship in the 1960s and '70s, Spain began to relax its censorship policies. Querejeta saw the opportunity for a liberalized cinema and took advantage, though he occasionally went too far even for the more permissive government.
