Exclusive: Kirk Wise, known for his work on some iconic animated Disney films like Beauty and the Beast and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, has signed on to direct Sunny, the first animated feature from Enderby Entertainment.

Enderby CEO Rick Dugdale will produce the pic with Darrell Brown of Creative Anarchy. Todd Ireland will pen the screenplay based on a story by Dugdale and Brown. It’s about a boy named Sunny who must learn to control his emotions because his emotions control the sun.

Dan Petrie, Jr., Cam Cannon, and Zac Reeder will serve as executive producers.

The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Richard Jenkins, Bill Pullman, Jeffrey Donovan and Michael Stahl-David alongside Harrelson.

Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment announced today that it has acquired all rights for the U.S. and Canada for director Rob Reiner’s Lbj starring Woody Harrelson in the role of the bombastic 36th President.

The film also stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Richard Jenkins, Bill Pullman, Jeffrey Donovan and Michael Stahl-David, and was produced by Reiner, Matthew George, Liz Glotzer, Trevor White and Tim White. Lbj had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and is set for a theatrical release in 2017.

The deal was brokered by Electric Entertainment’s Head of Domestic Distribution, Zac Reeder and by CAA on behalf of the filmmakers.

Ron Perlman and George Finn have signed on to star in the criminal action thriller, Savage Mutts. Written and directed by Nika Agiashvili, Savage Mutts will be produced in conjunction with Energy Entertainment's Independent division.

Scheduled to begin production in Los Angeles in January, Savage Mutts centers on Terry "Shotgun" Coburn (Perlman), who after he is released from maximum security prison sets out on a path of revenge and rampage through the criminal underworld, as he seeks out a final confrontation with his brother - a dark and powerful crime boss. Project has been described as being in the vein of Guy Ritchie's Lock, Stock, & Two Smoking Barrels.

Indican Pictures announced today that it has acquired exclusive North American rights to the Van Vlahakis biopic, A Green Story. Indican plans to release the film theatrically in April, 2013. Through the deal, Indican also holds all video, television, ancillary and VOD rights in North America.

The indie horror movie "Walking Distance," currently in postproduction, has undergone a name change to "Experimental Activity" now that one of its actors, Katie Featherston, has gone on to star in the the current theatrical hit "Paranormal Activity."

Showcase Entertainment has acquired international rights to "Experimental Activity," which revolves around a small town that is subject to a government medical experiment.

"Clearly having the fastest-rising star in the business is a feather in the cap, but we feel the film stands on its own as a cool psychological thriller," Showcase president David Jackson said.

The film also features Adrienne King, who appeared in the 1980 version of "Friday the 13th" and its first sequel, and Glenn Morshower, who's been seen as Secret Service agent Aaron Pierce on "24."

The deal was brokered by Jackson and Zac Reeder of Circus Road Films.
