That includes the family’s famed Grantham Estate. At one point, the head of the family Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville) pays respect to the mansion that made the show famous — the real Highclere Castle in Hampshire, England — by giving it a pat and a kiss, apparently as the family says goodbye to it.

The first official teaser trailer dropped Monday and showed returning cast members Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Allen Leech, Laura Carmichael, Elizabeth McGovern and Harry Hadden-Paton all reprising their roles in the beloved period piece, which first aired six seasons on PBS before its first two films came out.

Could there be trouble in paradise for the Talbots? Matthew Goode has confirmed that he won’t be reprising his role of Mary’s husband Henry Talbot in the third and final Downton Abbey movie, hitting theaters on Sept. 12, after previously missing the second installment.

“I was unavailable for the second because I was doing The Offer,” Goode recently told The UK’s Radio Times. “[For the third], I was shooting [Netflix’s Department Q]. But I also buggered my knee, and I had to have an operation. That takes weeks to get over, so I was never going to be able to do it.

Downton Abbey is heading back to the big screen for a new installment – and it’s bringing back some newly-nominated faces…

Hold onto your overs and side your ways, Paul Giamatti is launching straight out of his The Holdovers Oscar nomination back into Downton in a new screen adaptation from original scribe Julian Fellowes.

Giamatti was last seen gracing Downton’s many steps in the series’ 2013 Christmas special, where he played “free spirited playboy” Harold Levinson.

Almost every actor is back, seemingly pleased as plum puddings to repeat their roles as either landed nobility or downstairs staff. The storyline ties a final bow on some characters and plot lines, and in a far more pleasing way than we thought possible. Even casual fans of the franchise ought to be charmed.
