If you're a fan of the sitcom led by Kevin James, The King of Queens, we have some bad news for you. The star of the '90s comedy series has said that, while most shows are revisited at some point with modern revivals, he doesn't see The King of Queens returning in the near future. The reason is that, if it did, it wouldn't have the presence of who he felt was the "glue" of the show. James is referring to comedy icon Jerry Stiller, who played Arthur in the series, and passed away in 2020.
The Hitch actor is currently promoting his latest feature film, Guns Up, an action comedy co-starring Christina Ricci, Melissa Leo, and Maximilian Osinski. James talked to Collider about Guns Up, and given how important The King of Queens is in his career, the subject of a possible revival came up. While he didn't dismiss the idea at first,...

As one of the stars of The King of Queens, Kevin James will always be associated with the beloved sitcom. However, he does not play to ever revisit the role, feeling that a revival would be pointless without his late co-star involved.
James recently discussed The King of Queens in an interview with Collider to promote his newest project, Guns Up, co-starring Christina Ricci. He reflected on how the series wasn't as highly revered as other major sitcoms while it was actually on television, though it has since become more popular in subsequent years. Whatever the case might be, James feels like people love the series now more than ever before.
“The King of Queens is weird because we weren't as popular," James said. "When we came out, we did okay. We did good. But it was [Everybody Loves] Raymond and Friends and all these other office comedies and funnier shows, and...

While The King of Queensremains a beloved sitcom, the show is unlikely to return. Led by Kevin James, who played Doug Heffernan, the series followed a postman as he attempted to navigate life in Queens, New York. He was joined by Leah Remini (Carrie Heffernan), the late Jerry Stiller (Arthur Spooner), Patton Oswalt (Spence Olchin), and more.
The show ran for a full decade, having been on air from 1998 to 2007 for a total of nine seasons. While there was a reunion table read for the series in 2021, there has been no hint of a revival on the horizon, despite maintaining a fairly strong reputation within the industry.
While dreams of a revival still do exist, Kevin James "can't even picture it" and has no interest in following up on its story. In an interview with Collider, he explained that Jerry Stiller's death ended any interest that he had in future episodes.

While reboots and revivals continue to dominate Hollywood — with everything from Frasier to Happy Gilmore 2 getting the legacy treatment — don’t expect The King of Queens to join the trend anytime soon. Kevin James, who played the iconic delivery driver Doug Heffernan for nine seasons on CBS, has shared his honest thoughts with Collider's Steve Weintraub on returning to the beloved sitcom. And while he doesn’t rule it out completely, there’s one very personal reason it feels unlikely: the absence of the late Jerry Stiller. James was promoting his latest project, Guns Up, alongside Christina Ricci.
The show featured Doug alongside his sharp-tongued wife Carrie (Leah Remini) and her eccentric, overbearing father Arthur Spooner (Stiller), who lives in their basement. The show humorously explores the ups and downs of blue-collar married life, blending relatable domestic squabbles with outrageous misunderstandings and Arthur's constant chaos. But the absence...

Taylor Sheridan’s streaming empire just got a nostalgic twist. While Landman (his new oil-rig drama) continues to dominate on Paramount+, overtaking even long-running fan-fave Criminal Minds, it’s the sudden resurgence of classic sitcoms that’s stealing the limelight. Frasier, The King of Queens, and Everybody Loves Raymond have all jumped back into the platform’s Top 10, proving once again that comfort TV never goes out of style.
With Sheridan’s name pulling in the drama crowd and timeless comedy pulling in the laughs, Paramount+ is balancing grit with giggles, and clearly, it’s working. The old faves still have plenty of fuel in the tank.

Kevin James is a henchman trying to quit the mob in the first trailer for Guns Up. The movie marks the actor's return to the action genre after having played neo-Nazi leader Dominick five years earlier in Becky.
As the Guns Up trailer shows, quitting the mob is easier said than done, as James' character's final job goes off the rails. "With the clock ticking, the ex-cop has one night to get his unsuspecting family out of the city before he gets snuffed out," reads the synopsis for the action movie. The trailer features James' Ray Hayes showcasing his lethal skills, which leads to his son questioning whether he's "John Wick," the beloved assassin from the franchise of the same name, played by Keanu Reeves. However, after Ray's wife, Audrey (Christina Ricci), takes care of a few mob men herself, their daughter remarks to her brother that their dad "married John Wick.

Nearly two decades after The King of Queens’ final episode hit the airwaves back in 2007, Leah Remini just might be up for another round in New York City’s most regal borough — so long as one condition is met.
The sitcom star recently revealed that while “of course” she “would consider” reviving her iconic CBS series during a recent sit-down with Us Weekly, there’s a caveat to her reprising the role of Carrie Heffernan. The late Jerry Stiller, who played her on-screen father Arthur Spooner, would somehow need to be added into the mix.
“It would be hard to do a show like that without Jerry Stiller,” she said of her TV dad, who passed away at the age of 92 back in 2020. “They’d have to think of something to represent him.”
Stiller’s undeniable comedy chops isn’t the only factor that would make his (hopefully half-priced) shoes...

Mel Gibson returns to the director’s chair for the impressively economical single-location thriller Flight Risk. It’s undeniably trashy, thanks to an egregiously over-the-top performance by top-billed Mark Wahlberg, but it’s also surprisingly enjoyable.
In fairness, it’s not entirely a single-location thriller, as the film starts with fugitive mob accountant Winston (Topher Grace) being apprehended in his remote Alaska motel hide-out by Air Marshal Madolyn (Michelle Dockery), and offered a deal to testify against his boss in an ongoing trial. Winston takes the deal, and Madolyn charters a three-seater plane to fly him to New York, but her plan hits a snag when the pilot, Daryl (Mark Wahlberg) turns out to be a hired killer with orders to kill them both.

Tom Cruise Yells At Assistant Incident(Photo Credit –Instagram/Facebook)
Tom Cruise once blew up over a roll of cookie dough and Leah Remini was there to see it all. In her 2015 memoir Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology, Remini dropped jaws when she claimed that the Top Gun star “lit into” his assistant simply because he couldn’t spot cookie dough already sitting on the counter (via CheatSheet). Yes, cookie dough. One roll. Whole tantrum.
“Goddamn it!” Cruise reportedly shouted as his staff scrambled around his Beverly Hills home. Katie Holmes, who was dating him at the time, tried to calm him down. But Remini said his voice—though lowered—“still had a seething quality” that left everyone on edge.
It got worse.

Over the years, Hollywood has delivered an abundance of memorable on-screen partnerships -- Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, Paul Newman and Robert Redford, Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, and Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, among many others. Over 30 years after their first collaboration, it's probably safe to add Matt Damon and Ben Affleck to the list.
Together, the dynamic duo have produced memorable entertainment aplenty, putting their remarkable chemistry to good use in everything from Kevin Smith's "Dogma" to Affleck's "Air." These guys have teamed up on nearly a dozen projects, even for a brief cameo or minor supporting role. Recently, their partnership has intensified with the aforementioned "Air" and Ridley Scott's "The Last Duel," it's a shame they haven't found more films to work on together over the years, because these boys are wicked smaht.

Chicago – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Dan Baker for Wbgr-fm on January 30th, 2025, reviewing “Flight Risk,” featuring Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Dockery and Topher Grace, directed by Mel Gibson. In theaters since January 24th.
Michelle Dockery is Madolyn Harris, a Deputy U.S. Marshall, whose job it is to find Winston (Topher Grace of “That ‘70s Show”), an accountant for a mobster who seems connected to all corruption. Once Deputy Harris busts Winston on the run in Alaska, and convinces him to squeal on his boss, she has to escort via a rickety propeller plane over the mountains to Anchorage. It becomes apparent that the pilot (Mark Wahlberg), isn’t who he seems to be. Can Deputy Harris land the plane … with no training as a pilot … when it suddenly becomes pilotless?

While Mark Wahlberg's Flight Risk may not rank highly with audiences, it did earn him a new ranking elsewhere. The action thriller premiered in theaters last weekend and overtook Mufasa: The Lion King at the box office, grossing over $13 million. This latest role helped Wahlberg overtake another Hollywood legend, Denzel Washington, on a list of the highest-grossing stars of all time, per The Numbers. While both actors sit at $2.7 billion earned at the domestic box office, Wahlberg now holds the #40 spot.

So far, we’ve tasted “Disease” and her Bruno Mars collab “Die With A Smile,” which was so massively successful it’s still topping important charts to this very day. Obviously we want more, and mama knew that.
To keep the whole thing iconic and classy – it is Lady Gaga we’re talking about here after all – she made sure fans in New York City woke up to a black-and-white billboard with an over-the-top picture of her.

Mel Gibson went almost a decade without directing a movie after his war drama "Hacksaw Ridge" hit theaters in 2016. The actor-filmmaker, whose other directorial credits include "Braveheart" and "Apocalypto," has now ended his dry spell with the release of his new movie "Flight Risk." It's a very minimalistic, contained thriller that takes place on a tiny plane and centers almost entirely on just three actors for the majority of its runtime. However, some familiar voices also pop up along the way, particularly for those who are fans of a certain classic CBS sitcom.
Gibson, it needs to be mentioned, is a controversial figure who has been accused of antisemitism, in addition to having a battery charge against his ex-wife, which is largely why he doesn't work as much as he once did. But he still does, indeed, get work in Hollywood these days, as evidenced by this thriller, which is being released by Lionsgate.

Mark Wahlberg has revealed that he apologized to his Flight Risk co-stars for being “locked into” his villainous character on set. Wahlberg stars opposite Michelle Dockery and Topher Grace in the pulse-pounding thriller.
Flight Risk's action unfolds as U.S. Marshal Madelyn Harris (Michelle Dockery) accompanies a mob accountant, Winston (Topher Grace), on a flight to testify against his former employers.

Lionsgate’s advertising campaign for “Flight Risk” credits its latest film to “the award-winning director of ‘Braveheart,’ ‘Apocalypto’ and ‘Hacksaw Ridge’,” which seems a circumspect way of recognizing Mel Gibson as its helmer. Unfortunately, the movie’s problem is not that it lacks Gibson’s name, but his personality as a filmmaker. Reminding audiences of those very good pictures sets expectations way, way too high ahead of watching this cheap-looking, shoddily-made, lifeless thriller.
Working from a Black List darling of a script by up-and-comer Jared Rosenberg, Gibson recruits his “Father Stu” co-star Mark Wahlberg to play the villain in a containment thriller that doesn’t even need Academy Award-winning talent, just basic proficiency and a bit of finesse in order to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Mel Gibson’s first directorial effort since 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge finds the new ambassador to Hollywood working on a distinctly more intimate scale than usual. The inside of a small Cessna plane, to be precise, which is where most of the action of Flight Risk takes place. Depicting the harrowing aerial journey of a deputy U.S. Marshall, her mob-connected witness, and a pilot who turns out to be a hit man, Flight Risk manages to deliver some high-altitude thrills in its breathlessly paced 91 minutes. But its clunky dialogue, uneven performances and less-than-grade-a special effects ultimately make it the Spirit Airlines of airborne thrillers.
The screenplay by Jared Rosenberg is nothing if not efficient, quickly establishing its premise when Deputy Marshall Madolyn (Michelle Dockery) and other officers burst into the tacky Alaskan motel room where mob accountant Winston (Topher Grace) is hiding after making the mistake of skimming millions from his boss.

When Sam Malone showed up to visit on the original Frasier, fans got a thrill seeing old-favorite characters reunite for a one-off episode. But several sitcoms have done those types of cameos one better, casting familiar costars as entirely new characters to add a dose of barely earned nostalgia. Sometimes the ploy works and sometimes it doesn’t, as you’ll see in these five examples of classic sitcom costars who reunited on new shows.
1 Kevin James and Leah Remini
When James tried to reboot his sitcom career with Kevin Can Wait, he soon discovered he didn’t have much chemistry with his new TV wife Erinn Hayes. With little thought to public reaction, James and his producers decided “Why not have Hayes’ character die — off camera — before we start a Season Two?” That’s just what they did, enlisting James’ former TV wife, King of Queens’ Remini, to rekindle some comedy sparks.

DiCaprio was earning movie accolades early in his career, still a teenager when he was Oscar-nominated for Who’s Eating Gilbert Grape? But does he get that role without his breakthrough as Luke Brower, the homeless kid who gets taken in by the Seavers on the ‘80s sitcom Growing Pains? TV mom Joanna Kerns remembers DiCaprio always messing around between takes. “He was totally mischievous,” she told The Independent. In the early 1990s, the programming wizards at NBC realized they might be leaving advertising dollars on the table by not providing adolescents a Saturday morning entertainment bridge from cartoons to live-action sitcoms that reflected, in that garish sitcom way, their middle to high school lives. The only serious counter-programming threat in these hours was "Yo, MTV Raps!," so for kids who were more into bubblegum pop than hard-hitting rhymes, there was a demand not being met. And thus the Tnbc block was born.
The linchpin of the Tnbc block early in its heyday was "Saved by the Bell." What began as a spinoff of "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" -- which started on NBC before moving to The Disney Channel -- became a Saturday morning mainstay for both kids looking to do a whole lot of nothing on their morning off from school and hungover adults who knew better but...

You’re trying to make people feel something. And with ‘The Talk,’ we’re giving everybody a little break in their day, the routine of it. This is a respite in your day, where you can come and laugh and watch five people that really like each other have a really good time on television. That emotional currency will be...

After a 15-year run and nearly 3,000 episodes, The Talk is coming to an end on Friday, December 20. The CBS talk show, which served as a great vehicle to promote the network’s lineup and often shined a spotlight on soaps and daytime alumni, began in 2010 following the cancellation of beloved series As the World Turns. The Daytime Emmy-winning program had a very different panel than the one today that’s comprised of Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Sheryl Underwood. When the show began, the show’s panel consisted of Julie Chen, Holly Robinson Peete, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert (who co-created the program and served as executive producer), and Leah Remini. Melissa Jaret Winokur was a special correspondent. Robinson Peete, Remini, and Winokur were all gone by Season 2. That’s when Underwood and Aisha Tyler were added to the panel. TV finales are by their very nature emotional, which often complicates matters when it's time for a comedy to say its goodbyes. Unlike adventure programs or dramas, sitcoms don't have a built-in final act. There's no battle to win or mystery to solve. And yet, there is a sense that something special must happen in the series finale. As a result, many sitcoms choose to build their final episode around major moments of transition in the lives of their characters.
The end of a show can mean it's time for fans to part ways with characters they've known and laughed along with for years of their lives. Many sitcoms respect this by taking a break from their normally hilarious antics to imbue the plot with weight and emotion.

Plenty of comedy stars have popped in for a cameo when their old sitcom costars get a new gig — think Cheers’ Ted Danson visiting the original Frasier or most of the Community cast stopping by Ken Jeong’s Dr. Ken. But some sitcom stars have such amazing chemistry that they need to keep a good thing going.
Here are five pairs of funny people who costarred together in multiple sitcoms…
1 Danny McBride and Walton Goggins
McBride and Goggins headlined Vice Principals as competing a-holes vying to rule the school via promotion to the top job. When McBride went on to create The Righteous Gemstones for HBO, he again enlisted Goggins as a failed child star who once headlined a gospel song-and-dance team. Goggins told Conan O’Brien that McBride “is the funniest person I have ever met in my life.” The two even teamed to desecrate the reputations of Ronald McDonald and the Hamburglar.

Jerry Seinfeld is as successful as a comic can get. The actor has had a show named after him and starred in several more iconic projects over the years. Through Seinfeld, he became the lead star in one of the most iconic comedy shows of all time, and his stand-up has only added to his acclaim.

However, like most comics, his fans do not know much about his personal life. With this, many would be surprised to know that the comedian was also a follower of the Church of Scientology. While many would look at this as a bad thing, his perspective on the same showcases exactly why fans love him as much as they do.

“The Talk” is officially ending on Friday, Dec. 20, CBS said on Tuesday. The long-running talk show, modeled on a format made popular by ABC’s “The View,” had been renewed earlier this year for an abbreviated 15th and final season.
Created by former “Roseanne” actor Sara Gilbert, “The Talk” first premiered in 2010, with Gilbert hosting for the first nine seasons alongside original hosts Julie Chen Moonves, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Janet Winokur.
The show’s final season has been hosted by Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell and Sheryl Underwood; all five have been co-hosts since 2021.
Fans can probably expect a few surprises during the show’s final few weeks; in a joint statement earlier this year, CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios president David Stapf said the network will “plan to celebrate the show and give it the proper sendoff...
