Marvel released the long list of actors returning to their respective roles for ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ in March, but unfortunately, a lot of fan favorites were still missing from the list, including Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. While there has been speculation about the actor’s possible role in the film, no official confirmation has been given by the studio.

Right now, Holland is pretty occupied as he films his street-level ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day.’ Sure, there is a possibility that the friendly neighborhood superhero swings into the upcoming multiversal madness, but all signs point to a no, at least for now.

After the initial cast announcement, insider Jeff Sneider, aka The Insneider, reported on X a second wave of actors joining the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ ensemble. While Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, and more made the cut this time, Holland was still missing from the reported list.

Doomsday cast list? Take it with a grain of salt.

Jeremy Renner will don the role of Mike McLusky, the foul-mouthed de facto mayor of Kingston, for two more seasons of the crime drama Mayor of Kingstown. The Paramount+ thriller, panned by critics but loved by audiences (as you see for yourself in the Rotten Tomatoes rating), finished its third season and will end its run by the fifth.

During a panel at Florida Supercon, the star and producer of the show, Jeremy Renner, said (via Popverse):

We found a cool end, I’m not going to tell you, but we found a really cool end, I think, to the show.

The Hurt Locker star recently made a recovery after a near-fatal accident and is firing on all cylinders. In an interview with Empire, Jeremy Renner said he’s open to reprising his role as the Avenger, Hawkeye:

I’m always happy to be in that world, man.

The release of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘ came with the introduction of two very interesting characters – America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) and Clea (Charlize Theron). Unfortunately, they have been M.I.A. since then; however, it looks like it might finally be time for them to shine as a new report states that they are making their return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’

‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ is turning out to be a big reunion between the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe because insider Jeff Sneider, aka The Insneider, has just reported on the second half of the actors reprising their roles in the film.

Among these characters are Gomez’s America Chavez, the dimension-hopping teenager from Utopian Parallel, and Theron’s Clea, a sorceress from the Dark Dimension.

Gomez once discussed the possibility of her return to the MCU in an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, where she stated, “All I can do is hope.

Outside of Marvel or DC, it's tough to find a more impactful comic book superhero than that of Spawn. Created by former Marvel Comics superstar Todd McFarlane, "Spawn" served as one the big launch titles for Image Comics (which McFarlane co-founded back in the early 1990s). It was a massive, genre re-defining IP, with the comic book series still going strong to this day. "Spawn" was even big enough to get a big-budget, live-action movie adaptation from New Line Cinema in 1997.

Unfortunately, the film didn't do well critically or commercially. Ever since then, McFarlane has been highly protective of the Spawn character and understandably so, even holding off on discussing a new movie until roughly 2009. Later, in 2016, McFarlane revealed he had finished a script for a new "Spawn" film. A year after, the horror maestros at Blumhouse Productions signed on to produce the project, with McFarlane slated to write and direct the "Spawn" movie himself.

During his recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Brolin told Josh Horowitz that he was approached for a 10-minute role in the MCU when he was doing Everest.

He shared that Marvel later changed the role to become a major character in its Infinity Saga finale. He shared:

That was supposed to be a cameo when it was first brought to me. I was doing the Everest movie in London, and [Marvel] brought me this huge [character] bible. They were like, ‘It’s this little thing and [Thanos] is going to be in it for 10 minutes.’ And then they changed it, and it turned into this whole thing.

While the world was busy with its New Year’s resolutions, 2023 had something else planned for Jeremy Renner. The actor got involved in a near-fatal accident on January 1st, 2023, when a snowplow weighing over 14,000 pounds ran over him. It was truly a miracle Renner made it out alive, and now, we have an animated recreation of what went down that day.

Creator Zack D. Films recently posted a short animated video showing Renner as he got trapped under the snowcat while attempting to stop the vehicle from running over his nephew.

Taylor Sheridan has a trio of hit shows that are set to return to Paramount+ later this year, but one series that won’t be back with another season is still finding streaming success. Sheridan is the creator of 1923, the Yellowstone prequel show starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton. 1923 Season 2 earned a perfect 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and although it aired its final episode earlier this year in April, the show has still been a consistent force on streaming charts. It’s even closing in on MobLand, the Guy Ritchie-directed series starring Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan. MobLand earned a much lower but still respectable 75% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and the show has already been renewed for a second season, unlike 1923.

Back in May, a Paramount earnings call gave fans hope that they would see Taylor Sheridan’s record-breaking series, Landman, return to screens by November, following hot on the heels of another Sheridan show, the Jeremy Renner-led drama, Mayor of Kingstown. Now, during the latest update on the state of Paramount, it has been revealed that Landman fans will have a little longer to wait then originally expected.

Landman has been in production since last month on its second season, and the show has a lot to live up to when it makes its return to Paramount+. The first season debuted in December 2024 and immediately claimed a place as the most-watched Paramount+ original series – although its crown would be taken soon after by the return of another of Sheridan’s many shows, 1923. In its first four weeks on streaming, Landman reached 14.9 million households according to global streaming figures.

The third season of the Sylvester Stallone-led “Tulsa King” will be released on Sept. 21, with “Mayor of Kingstown” Season 4 starring Jeremy Renner coming in October and “Landman” Season 2, starring Billy Bob Thornton, headed to Paramount+ this December.

Additionally, there was mention of “The Dutton Ranch,” the “Yellowstone” spinoff with Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, which is expected to debut in 2026. There are more spinoffs on the way – “Y: Marshals,” starring Luke Grimes (which will head to Paramount’s flagship linear network CBS); “1944,” a continuation of the historical prequel series that began with “1888” and continued with “1923;” and “The Madison,” the still-shrouded-in-mystery spinoff starring Matthew Fox and Michelle Pfeiffer. Jeremy Renner is preparing for his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In an interview with Empire magazine, published Tuesday, the Hawkeye star admitted that he’s “sure we’ll end up doing season two” of the Disney+ series that spotlighted his longtime character Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye). His comments about returning to the MCU come after he previously revealed he turned down another season of Hawkeye after being offered half of his salary for a second season.

“I’m always happy to be in that world, man.… I love all those guys, I love the character,” he said of portraying Clint/Hawkeye in the superhero film franchise. “I’m sure we’ll end up doing season two, and do other things. And I’m happy to do it.”

When the Oscar nominee revealed his proposed salary cuts for season two of Hawkeye, he clarified that the offer came after his near-fatal snowplow accident.

During a recent interview with Empire, Renner said he’s ready to reprise his role of the bow-wielding Avenger, Hawkeye. He added that he’s open to whatever Marvel has planned, whether that be a second season of the “Hawkeye” Disney+ series or an MCU blockbuster.

“I’m always happy to be in that world, man. I love all those guys, I love the character,” Renner said. “I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2 [of ‘Hawkeye’], and do other things. And I’m happy to do it. My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.”

He added that he’s recovered “more than 150%” from his near-fatal snowmobile accident in 2023, and is ready for the stunt work required for a Marvel vehicle.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been adept at two things as of late: Creating post-credits scenes that never pay off and developing Disney+ original shows that basically function as long movies with act breaks. Naturally, something like "WandaVision" doesn't really lend itself to a second season (serving more as a precursor to "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness"), but "Hawkeye" has real potential to become something more.

The first season establishes Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) as a mentor figure to Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) as he avoids the consequences to his actions in "Avengers: Endgame" from killing so many individuals involved in the criminal underworld. The ending of "Hawkeye" season 1 makes it seem like Clint wants to focus more on his family, allowing Kate to take up the Hawkeye mantle going forward. The show could certainly lend itself to a season 2, though, perhaps with Renner in a more supporting role.
