Marvel released the long list of actors returning to their respective roles for ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ in March, but unfortunately, a lot of fan favorites were still missing from the list, including Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. While there has been speculation about the actor’s possible role in the film, no official confirmation has been given by the studio.
Right now, Holland is pretty occupied as he films his street-level ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day.’ Sure, there is a possibility that the friendly neighborhood superhero swings into the upcoming multiversal madness, but all signs point to a no, at least for now.
After the initial cast announcement, insider Jeff Sneider, aka The Insneider, reported on X a second wave of actors joining the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ ensemble. While Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, and more made the cut this time, Holland was still missing from the reported list.
Doomsday cast list? Take it with a grain of salt.

Jeremy Renner will don the role of Mike McLusky, the foul-mouthed de facto mayor of Kingston, for two more seasons of the crime drama Mayor of Kingstown. The Paramount+ thriller, panned by critics but loved by audiences (as you see for yourself in the Rotten Tomatoes rating), finished its third season and will end its run by the fifth.
During a panel at Florida Supercon, the star and producer of the show, Jeremy Renner, said (via Popverse):
We found a cool end, I’m not going to tell you, but we found a really cool end, I think, to the show.
The Hurt Locker star recently made a recovery after a near-fatal accident and is firing on all cylinders. In an interview with Empire, Jeremy Renner said he’s open to reprising his role as the Avenger, Hawkeye:
I’m always happy to be in that world, man.

The release of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘ came with the introduction of two very interesting characters – America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) and Clea (Charlize Theron). Unfortunately, they have been M.I.A. since then; however, it looks like it might finally be time for them to shine as a new report states that they are making their return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’
‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ is turning out to be a big reunion between the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe because insider Jeff Sneider, aka The Insneider, has just reported on the second half of the actors reprising their roles in the film.
Among these characters are Gomez’s America Chavez, the dimension-hopping teenager from Utopian Parallel, and Theron’s Clea, a sorceress from the Dark Dimension.
Gomez once discussed the possibility of her return to the MCU in an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, where she stated, “All I can do is hope.

Outside of Marvel or DC, it's tough to find a more impactful comic book superhero than that of Spawn. Created by former Marvel Comics superstar Todd McFarlane, "Spawn" served as one the big launch titles for Image Comics (which McFarlane co-founded back in the early 1990s). It was a massive, genre re-defining IP, with the comic book series still going strong to this day. "Spawn" was even big enough to get a big-budget, live-action movie adaptation from New Line Cinema in 1997.
Unfortunately, the film didn't do well critically or commercially. Ever since then, McFarlane has been highly protective of the Spawn character and understandably so, even holding off on discussing a new movie until roughly 2009. Later, in 2016, McFarlane revealed he had finished a script for a new "Spawn" film. A year after, the horror maestros at Blumhouse Productions signed on to produce the project, with McFarlane slated to write and direct the "Spawn" movie himself.

When Russo Brothers Almost Quit On Captain America: Civil War (Photo Credit –Instagram/IMDb)
Captain America: Civil War beautifully set the stage in a way for the Avengers: Infinity War. When Tony Stark reveals to Bruce Banner that the Avengers have broken up, Bruce innocently questions him, “Like the Beetles?” It generated a lot of laughs in the theatres, but that might not have been possible if Marvel’s Creative Committee stopped the Russo brothers from pitting Tony and Steve Rogers against each other in the 2016 movie.
Russo Brothers’ Team Cap vs Team Iron Man Idea Was Initially Rejected

Christopher Nolan Once Revealed He Was Confused About Heath Ledger’s Joker Voice In The Dark Knight(Photo Credit – Instagram)
Christopher Nolan’s last movie Oppenheimer earned Robert Downey Jr and Cillian Murphy their first Oscars. The filmmaker himself picked the golden knight himself in 2024. Similarly, Heath Ledger also earned his Oscar, albeit posthumously, after playing The Joker in Nolan’s The Dark Knight. One can say the visionary director is an Oscar-winner maker!
The Dark Knight was released in 2008 and featured Ledger as Joker. Unfortunately, a few months before the film was released in the theatres, Heath Ledger passed away due to a drug overdose. While receiving the Golden Globe Award for Oppenheimer in 2024, Nolan recalled the last time he was on the Golden Globes Awards stage was when he took Ledger’s award in his absence after the actor’s demise.

Everyone knows the story of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's lifelong friendship; how they broke into Hollywood together by writing and starring in "Good Will Hunting," winning an Oscar and establishing themselves as two of the most significant forces in the industry for decades to come. That's the short version, anyway. The slightly longer version begins with the boys growing up together in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where they lived just two blocks apart and attended the same school. After high school, Damon enrolled in Harvard, where he wrote the beginnings of "Good Will Hunting" before dropping out and traveling to live with his buddy, Affleck, out in Los Angeles.
During that pre-"Good Will Hunting" period, both actors found work in multiple projects, with Damon appearing in a forgotten 1994 Western that marked Tommy Lee Jones' directorial debut and Affleck landing a role in the Danielle Steel TV movie adaptation, "Daddy.

There was a period when Jeremy Renner was on a winning streak. After landing a role in Kathryn Bigelow's award-winning war drama, "The Hurt Locker," he was appearing everywhere. Besides following it up with an impressive performance in the Ben Affleck-directed heist movie, "The Town," he then started switching between spy stories and superhero outings in three of the biggest franchises at that time.
After joining the Imf alongside Tom Cruise in "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" and drawing back his bow with Earth's Mightiest Heroes in "The Avengers," Renner dared to try and pick up the slack left by Matt Damon's amnesiac assassin, Jason Bourne, in the spin-off espionage thriller "The Bourne Legacy." While it received a lukewarm reception at the time and a so-so success at the box office, it feels that, even riding off of the "The Avengers," Renner's run in the Bourne-verse stands...

Fans would be surprised to learn that Josh Brolin‘s role was supposed to be a cameo before it was extended into a full-blown villain. During his recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Brolin told Josh Horowitz that he was approached for a 10-minute role in the MCU when he was doing Everest.
He shared that Marvel later changed the role to become a major character in its Infinity Saga finale. He shared:
That was supposed to be a cameo when it was first brought to me. I was doing the Everest movie in London, and [Marvel] brought me this huge [character] bible. They were like, ‘It’s this little thing and [Thanos] is going to be in it for 10 minutes.’ And then they changed it, and it turned into this whole thing.

While the world was busy with its New Year’s resolutions, 2023 had something else planned for Jeremy Renner. The actor got involved in a near-fatal accident on January 1st, 2023, when a snowplow weighing over 14,000 pounds ran over him. It was truly a miracle Renner made it out alive, and now, we have an animated recreation of what went down that day.
Creator Zack D. Films recently posted a short animated video showing Renner as he got trapped under the snowcat while attempting to stop the vehicle from running over his nephew.
The video goes into gory details and shows everything from how Renner’s ribs would have “snapped like twigs” and how his eye would have almost popped out of his socket in real life. Zack also showed the different treatments Renner had to go through.

17 years ago, Robert Downey Jr stepped into the MCU as Tony Stark in the first Iron Manmovie. And now, he has returned to his roots thanks to Funko's latest figure. Tony Stark in his Workshop is the next installment of Funko's Pop! Nooks series, and this newest collectible is now available for pre-order and will be released just before the actor dons a different mask in Avengers: Doomsday.
For a listed price of $24.99, the Pop! Nooks Tony Stark in his Workshop features a Tony Stark figure with a small part of the Iron Man suit attached to his hand, while he tinkers with it in his workshop. While the set isn't as huge and tech-heavy as in the films, the set features only blueprints shown on a screen and a workbench filled with tools. Taylor Sheridan continues to be a huge draw for audiences, with the Yellowstone creator’s foray into crime thrillers proving to be every bit as popular with audiences as his neo-Western efforts. One such foray is the Jeremy Renner-led Mayor of Kingstown, which is all set to return for a fourth season. And we now know when that season will make its streaming debut.
Created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, Mayor of Kingstown follows Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky, the new head of the McLusky family who, for decades, have acted as mediators and enforcers while keeping the peace between criminals and cops in Kingstown, Michigan. While the series has proven to be more divisive among audiences and critics than many of Sheridan’s other franchises, fans cannot wait to see both the series, and Renner, return.

The television season is around the corner, and with it, the return of our favorite shows as well. Mayor of Kingstown is set for a return with the Jeremy Renner-led crime thriller now receiving its Season 4 Paramount+ release window. Created by Taylor Sheridan, Mayor of Kingstown was one of the first series from Sheridan to follow the creator's other hit series, the neo-Western, Yellowstone. The crime thriller is Paramount Network's most-watched scripted premiere since 2018, after it debuted on a Paramount Network & Paramount+ simulcast, and drew 2.6 million viewers. Now, during a recent quarterly earnings conference call, Paramount executives confirmed that as part of the company's slate of Sheridan releases coming later this year, Mayor of Kingstown season 4 will premiere in October 2025 on Paramount+.

Taylor Sheridan has a trio of hit shows that are set to return to Paramount+ later this year, but one series that won’t be back with another season is still finding streaming success. Sheridan is the creator of 1923, the Yellowstone prequel show starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton. 1923 Season 2 earned a perfect 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and although it aired its final episode earlier this year in April, the show has still been a consistent force on streaming charts. It’s even closing in on MobLand, the Guy Ritchie-directed series starring Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan. MobLand earned a much lower but still respectable 75% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and the show has already been renewed for a second season, unlike 1923.
Taylor Sheridan is currently hard at work filming the second season of Landman, which is due to premiere this December.

When you experience something that nearly ends your life, you might have a hard time jumping back into fiction. That’s what Jeremy Renner experienced after his 2023 accident, which left him with blunt chest trauma and more than three dozen broken bones.
Despite his injuries, Jeremy Renner continued to fight, making a remarkable recovery while also promoting and signing on for various projects, one of which was a docuseries for Disney+, which may have offered some grounding that he needed. Another was a memoir, My Next Breath, which came out earlier this year. As he told Empire, “It was kind of a struggle coming back to fiction, when my life is more non-fiction than non-fiction can really be. It’s, ‘Am I gonna walk right again?’, and how much brain-focus it takes to sit and stand and lie down. To exist requires so much of my mind, my attention, my focus,...

With three of his shows hitting Paramount+ before the year ends, Sheridan is staging an audacious takeover of the small screen, and Paramount has officially confirmed the storm is coming. From oil fields and mob wars to prison politics and crime dynasties, Sheridan’s slate is bursting at the seams and fans are already bracing for impact.

Anthony Mackie has broken his silence on nearly losing The Hurt Locker for a project, which didn’t see the light of day until a decade later. Back in May, a Paramount earnings call gave fans hope that they would see Taylor Sheridan’s record-breaking series, Landman, return to screens by November, following hot on the heels of another Sheridan show, the Jeremy Renner-led drama, Mayor of Kingstown. Now, during the latest update on the state of Paramount, it has been revealed that Landman fans will have a little longer to wait then originally expected.
Landman has been in production since last month on its second season, and the show has a lot to live up to when it makes its return to Paramount+. The first season debuted in December 2024 and immediately claimed a place as the most-watched Paramount+ original series – although its crown would be taken soon after by the return of another of Sheridan’s many shows, 1923. In its first four weeks on streaming, Landman reached 14.9 million households according to global streaming figures.

And thanks to the Paramount earnings call, we now know when to expect the next installments of Paramount+ favorites “Tulsa King,” “Mayor of Kingstown” and “Landman.”

Additionally, there was mention of “The Dutton Ranch,” the “Yellowstone” spinoff with Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, which is expected to debut in 2026. There are more spinoffs on the way – “Y: Marshals,” starring Luke Grimes (which will head to Paramount’s flagship linear network CBS); “1944,” a continuation of the historical prequel series that began with “1888” and continued with “1923;” and “The Madison,” the still-shrouded-in-mystery spinoff starring Matthew Fox and Michelle Pfeiffer. The rollout of those has yet to be detailed.

Since its inception, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has captivated audiences with a thrilling interconnected storyline that spans countless films. However, the game was forever changed with the introduction of Disney+ and its potential to bring audiences even closer to the action. Characters like the Scarlet Witch, Vision, Ms. Marvel, and Loki were suddenly in our own living room, and, from the get-go, they have kept us guessing about what will happen in next week's episode. Unfortunately, this new media format hasn't been without its own difficulties.
Fans unanimously agree that some of the MCU Disney+ shows feel like a six-hour movie due to their poor pacing. Besides, many heroes and stories introduced on the small screen have yet to have any impact on the bigger picture. On the one hand, characters like Moon Knight and She-Hulk haven't been seen again after their debuts, and, on the other hand, the events...

A therapist breaks down the miscommunication in Denis Villeneuve's 2016 Oscar-nominated sci-fi epic Arrival. Starring Jeremy Renner as experimental physicist Ian Donnelly and Amy Adams' linguist Dr. Louise Banks, a group of scientists is tasked to learn to communicate with extraterrestrials when gigantic spaceships arrive on Earth.
As a movie that revolves almost entirely around communication, Arrival explores the impact of language on perception and how to foster an understanding between different cultures and realities. The movie grossed over $206 million worldwide against a production budget of $47 million and received eight Oscar nominations, including Best Director for Villeneuve.
Recently, licensed therapist Jonathan Decker and filmmaker Alan Seawright of Cinema Therapy sat down to discuss the 2016 movie and its approach to miscommunication and the movie's theme about knowledge and what it means to be human. Jeremy Renner is preparing for his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In an interview with Empire magazine, published Tuesday, the Hawkeye star admitted that he’s “sure we’ll end up doing season two” of the Disney+ series that spotlighted his longtime character Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye). His comments about returning to the MCU come after he previously revealed he turned down another season of Hawkeye after being offered half of his salary for a second season.
“I’m always happy to be in that world, man.… I love all those guys, I love the character,” he said of portraying Clint/Hawkeye in the superhero film franchise. “I’m sure we’ll end up doing season two, and do other things. And I’m happy to do it.”
When the Oscar nominee revealed his proposed salary cuts for season two of Hawkeye, he clarified that the offer came after his near-fatal snowplow accident.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been adept at two things as of late: Creating post-credits scenes that never pay off and developing Disney+ original shows that basically function as long movies with act breaks. Naturally, something like "WandaVision" doesn't really lend itself to a second season (serving more as a precursor to "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness"), but "Hawkeye" has real potential to become something more.
The first season establishes Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) as a mentor figure to Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) as he avoids the consequences to his actions in "Avengers: Endgame" from killing so many individuals involved in the criminal underworld. The ending of "Hawkeye" season 1 makes it seem like Clint wants to focus more on his family, allowing Kate to take up the Hawkeye mantle going forward. The show could certainly lend itself to a season 2, though, perhaps with Renner in a more supporting role.

One Marvel star revealed how confident he is about potentially getting a Season 2 of his Disney+ series. After the Infinity Saga drew to a close, the MCU kept on getting bigger as the franchise expanded on the small screen. WandaVision began that journey, which ultimately led to several more shows like Moon Knight, Loki, and eventually, Hawkeye. The Jeremy Renner-led series brought Clint Barton back into the spotlight alongside newcomer Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) for a new high-stakes street-level adventure.
Hawkeye went on a successful Season 1 run on Disney+, leading fans to wonder if the show will be renewed for a sophomore run. In September 2024, it was reported that Hawkeye Season 2 was in development. However, the show's return might be in jeopardy after Jeremy Renner revealed that Marvel gave him an "insult offer" after he was offered "half the money" of Season 1. Despite that, a promising update straight from Renner emerged online.

With Chris Hemsworth's Thor set to co-lead Avengers: Doomsday and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk rumored for a major role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, fans have been wondering what the future holds for Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye. Thankfully, the Og Avenger has just confirmed his Marvel Cinematic Universe return.
In a new interview with Empire, Renner revealed that he is ready to return as Clint Barton/Hawkeye. "I’m always happy to be in that world, man. I love all those guys, I love the character," the actor remarked. As for whether another season of his character's hit Disney+ series was in the cards, Renner promisingly stated, "I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2, and do other things. And I’m happy to do it. My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but...

Jeremy Renner might be gearing up for another round as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and this time, he’s doing it with even more fire than before. After surviving a terrifying snowplow accident in early 2023, the actor is not only walking again but also training like he never left.
Renner opened up in a new interview with Empire, saying he’s ready to jump back into action. “I’m always happy to be in that world, man,” he said about Marvel. “I love all those guys, I love the character.” When asked about the possibility of Hawkeye Season 2, he didn’t hold back: “I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2, and do other things. And I’m happy to do it. My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.

Jeremy Renner is feeling stronger than ever and ready to jump back into action, possibly as Hawkeye again. In a recent interview with Empire, the actor opened up about his recovery, his passion for the Marvel universe, and the chances of returning for Hawkeye Season 2.
In 2023, Renner survived a terrifying snowplow accident on his Lake Tahoe property. He was pulled under a 14,000-pound machine and suffered serious injuries. After a long and tough recovery, he’s now back in shape and feeling better than before.
“I’m always happy to be in that world, man,” Renner said about the MCU. “I love all those guys, I love the character.” He said he’s open to returning for a second season of Hawkeye on Disney+, where he starred alongside Hailee Steinfeld. “I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2, and do other things. Jeremy Renner has made a steady return to acting following his near-fatal snowplow accident in 2023, but Marvel fans are eager to know if the Avenger will ever pick up his bow and arrow again. He previously cast doubt over reprising his role as Clint Barton in the MCU after he candidly revealed that he had turned down a second season of the Disney+ series Hawkeyedue to a salary dispute. However, the actor has now offered a more promising update that suggests he is open to returning to screens as the arrow-slinging archer once more.
Renner has made a considerable recovery from the horrific injuries he suffered while trying to save his nephew from being run over by a snowplow, but resulted in the actor being pulled under its tracks. He celebrated his second "rebirthday" after the incident at the start of the year, and he has now revealed a little...

This past weekend's San Diego Comic-Con was one of the worst in recent memory for news (most studios release their trailers before the event), but there are still lots of interesting tidbits floating around for fans of the MCU and Dcu.
We'll start this roundup with a new social post from Superman director James Gunn. The horrifying Mr. Handsome—who acted as Lex Luthor's slave in his pocket universe—has intrigued fans, with some speculating that he might be a White Martian, for example.
In a post featuring several new behind-the-scenes photos, Gunn explained, "Lex created Mr. Handsome in a Petri dish when he was 12 - he was trying to make a human. He didn't come out so well, but he just might be the only one in the world Lex has any true sentiment for, as evidenced by the photo on his desk."
That ties into Luthor eventually creating Ultraman,...

Hawkeye season 2 just got a very surprising update from Marvel Cinematic Universe star Jeremy Renner. As MCU TV shows have been a crucial component of The Multiverse Saga, only a handful of projects have been able to score season renewals, while others have served as limited series. While the Phase 4 series left the door open for both Renner's Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop to continue, only the latter has been seen since Hawkeye's ending, appearing in The Marvels' mid-credits scene.
In a new interview with Empire, Renner, who had previously spoken about the MCU pay dispute that was preventing him from agreeing to do Hawkeye season 2, dropped a new update about the show potentially continuing. Feeling confident in the way his health has bounced back since his December 2023 snowplow accident, the star feels "my body's getting ready for something" like an MCU return. Renner stated...
