Bruce Lee would utilize techniques from a wide array of different martial arts throughout his film career. Lee's legendary status as a martial arts movie icon has its foundation in his childhood, having studied Wing Chun under the tutelage of the famed Ip Man. As an adult, Lee would bring his skills as a martial artist to movies and television, achieving his first big success as Kato on The Green Hornet, before appearing in several kung fu movie hits in his native Hong Kong. Though Lee sadly passed away just before the 1973 release of Enter the Dragon, the film would become a towering martial arts classic.

Set during World War II while Korea is under the Japanese rule, the simple plot here is about Korean rebels who’re willing to give up their lives fighting against the evil invaders. Li Jun Dong (Jhoon Rhee) is their leader and he works as a gardener in a local church. One day, being chased by the Japanese, rebel Jin Zhang Zhi (Carter Wong) seeks shelter in the church. Together, Li and his student Mary (Anne Winton) step in and beat up the attackers who then run away.

Now that the church is not a safe heaven, the three of them take off but the priest stays behind and is captured by the returning Japanese. While checking on the priest’s welfare, Huang Li Chen (Angela Mao) also gets into trouble with them. Li then sets out to rescue Father Louis (Andre Morgan) alone but is outnumbered.

Shout! Factory has announced that they will release a special DVD collection dedicated to Angela Mao Ying, one of the most well known martial art actress.

Angela Mao Ying was born in 1950 in Taiwan and during her career she had trained in hapkido, wushu, taekwondo and other forms of martial arts. She debuted in 1969 but it wasn’t until the mid seventies that she started to get international recognition. She started in more than 35 films and became one of the most celebrated martial art heroines of Hong Kong cinema.

The 3 disc collection with widescreen format, contain six of the most well know films started by Ying. The films included are: When Taekwondo Strikes (1973), Stoner (1974), The Tournament (1974), Queen´s Ransom (1976), The Himalayan (1976) and Broken Oath (1977).
