The prodigal band member returns!

Kevin Richardson has "officially" been welcomed back into the fold of the Backstreet Boys after parting ways with the group in 2006.

"Now everything is back to normal ... welcome back Kevin Richardson," the band tweeted on Sunday.

Richardson added his own Twitter message on Monday morning, writing, "Hello beau-ti-ful people. Yes, the cat is Officially out of the bag. It's on and cracking!"

This news follows A.J. McLean's Sunday announcement that he is set to become a first-time daddy.

Pop singer Nick Carter broke down in tears during a reunion with his Backstreet Boy bandmates in Los Angeles on Friday - after he was quizzed over ex-lover Paris Hilton's shocking bruises.
