Jason Statham's Mutiny Delayed, Aims for Summer 2026 Release
Image
Jason Statham's upcoming action thriller Mutiny has been delayed. Directed by Jean-Francois Richet, the movie stars Statham as Cole Reed, an employee who is set up to take the fall for his boss's murder. With a script from Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis, the Beekeeper star is joined by Annabelle Wallis, Roland Moller, Jason Wong, Ben Catwright, and many others.

Earlier this year, Lionsgate announced that Mutiny would arrive on Jan. 9, 2025, in the week following Universal's M3GAN spin-off Soulm8te.

However, now, according to Deadline, Gerard Butler's Greenland 2: Migration has replaced Mutiny for the Jan. 9 slot, while Statham's new action thriller is eyeing a summer release. Presently, the movie doesn't have a date attached to it. It's also unclear what the reason is behind the delay.

What This Means For Mutiny

Mutiny began production in September 2024 and wrapped in November, and has been in post-production since the beginning of this year.

Gerard Butler, 55, Got Seriously Hurt Filming His Fan-Favorite Action Thriller That's Dominating Global Streaming Charts
Image
Gerard Butler has already starred in both Den of Thieves 2: Pantera and the live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie this year, but another more recent action flick has found continued streaming dominance. Butler stars alongside Luke Cage veteran Mike Colter in Plane, the aptly named action film following Brodie Torrance (Butler), a pilot forced to land his plane in a war zone after being caught in the middle of a dangerous storm. Plane is currently streaming on Netflix, and it’s one of the most popular movies on the streamer globally, charting in countries such as Argentina, Mexico, and Colombia. The film earned a “certified fresh” 79% from critics and a “verified hot” 94% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $74 million at the box office against a modest $24 million budget.

Gerard Butler has spoken only about a horrific injury he sustained while filming Plane. During production, Butler reached...

Jason Statham's Buzzy Box Office Hit Takes a Surprising Dip on Streaming Charts
Image
The Beekeeper may have stung the box office with a sweet $162.6 million global haul earlier this year, but Jason Statham’s conspiracy-fueled revenge thriller is starting to lose steam on streaming. Despite boasting a strong 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, the David Ayer-directed film has dropped down on MGM+’s Top 10 chart as of July 9, according to FlixPatrol. Currently sitting at No. 5 on MGM+, The Beekeeper has slipped behind newer titles but is still outperforming heavy-hitters like Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, The Magnificent Seven, and even Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning. Not bad for a sleeper hit with a modest $40 million budget.

While The Beekeeper is cooling off, Statham’s fans don’t have to worry — he’s still dominating elsewhere. His 2025 film A Working Man, another collaboration with Ayer, is currently No. 1 on MGM+’s Top 10 Overall list. The action star shows no signs of slowing down,...

Today's a Sad Day for Jason Statham Fans
Image
Jason Statham’s 2024 movie The Beekeepermay have a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, but the conspiracy thriller is seeing a dip in viewership on streaming. Per FlixPatrol, as of July 9, The Beekeeper, directed by David Ayer and written by Kurt Wimmer, has dropped down in MGM+’s Top 10 list.

The film, which also stars Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, and Jeremy Irons, has fallen to fifth place. However, The Beekeeper is still ahead of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, The Magnificent Seven, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning.

Another Statham Film is Dominating Streaming

It’s not all bad news for fans of Statham, though. His 2025 hit film, A Working Man,also directed by Ayer, is currently in the No. 1 spot on MGM+’s Top 10 Overall. The Beekeeper was a sleeper hit when it debuted in theaters in January 2024. It grossed more than $162.6 million worldwide,...

Gerard Butler's Most Underrated Action Movie Is Climbing Netflix's Top Charts
Image
Gerard Butler is the undisputed king of modern trash cinema, and that is a moniker he should feel proud of. Too many contemporary mainstream action movies are toothless and bland, but Butler's flicks have a little bit of dirt and blood in their nails, which is why he's a go-to actor for fans of big-budget exploitation fare. Whether he's chain-smoking and eating donuts in "Den of Thieves" or shooting terrorists in the "Has Fallen" franchise, Big Gerry's character's are reminiscent of the burly, everyman, macho heroes of yesteryear -- and he plays them all with a cheeky twinkle in his eye.

This brings us to "Plane," the Jean-François Richet-directed '90s throwback that's currently flying high in Netflix's top 10, according to FlixPatrol. In this underrated gem, Butler plays Brodie Torrance, a pilot who must protect his passengers from ruthless rebels after their aircraft lands on a dangerous...

8 Years Later, Jason Statham’s $1.1 Billion Blockbuster is Racing Up the Global Streaming Charts
Image
As far as contemporary movie stardom goes, Brad Pitt recently proved his worth with the sports drama F1. But if there's one star who consistently gets butts on seats in theaters and eyeballs glued to television screens, it's Jason Statham. Over a career that has survived and evolved across three decades, Statham has headlined old-school action vehicles, starred in major studio franchises, and appeared in a couple of blockbusters that have passed the coveted $1 billion mark at the global box office. One of them is The Fate of the Furious, the eighth installment of the long-running action franchise, which is now racing up the Netflix streaming charts.

According to FlixPatrol, The Fate of the Furiousfinished fifth on Netflix on June 30, beating titles such as Raid 2, The Old Guard, and 28 Weeks Later. The movie earned 228 points on June 30, and has accumulated a total of nearly 800 points on Netflix so far this month.

This “10/10” Action Thriller is Now Number One on Netflix
Image
I think Gerard Butler is one of the finest action stars of our generation. The 300 star and former 2010s heartthrob has successfully pivoted his career to something akin to a modern-day Dolph Lundgren. While not quite the over-the-top action hero, with Butler’s roles more regularly grounded in reality, he has undoubtedly become a staple in action movies. These days, if there’s stuff blowing up in your local movie theater, there’s a pretty solid chance Butler is involved in some capacity.

Recently, my favorite work of his might be Greenland, a disaster movie that defied all odds, emerging as one of the best of the century. I’m partial to the entire Fallen trilogy, too, especially as the franchise grew more and more ridiculous. Now, one of Butler’s recent starring vehicles has landed on Netflix, and is quickly speeding down the runway as the number one movie streaming on the platform.

Gerard Butler’s Plane On Netflix(Photo Credit –Netflix)

Plane is finally streaming on Netflix, and if you’re judging it by its title alone, you’re seriously underestimating Gerard Butler’s latest action beatdown. What sounds like a clearance-bin flick about aviation chaos turns out to be a gritty, high-stakes survival ride with just the right amount of punch, grit, and absurd charm. This is one of those rare thrillers that actually delivers more than it promises.

The setup is familiar: Butler plays Brodie Torrance, a commercial pilot who’s forced to land his storm-hit plane on a dangerous island crawling with rebels. But don’t let the stripped-down premise fool you, what follows is an intense, well-oiled genre machine that feels like a throwback to the golden age of ’90s action, minus the cringe.

Netflix's Movie Retelling Of Hunchback Of Notre Dame Casts Quasimodo
Image
Netflix's The Hunchback of Notre Dame movie, titled Quasimodo, has reportedly found its Quasimodo and will begin filming this summer. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is originally the 19th-century gothic novel by Victor Hugo (also the author of Les Misérables) about a bell-ringer at the famous at Paris’ famous Notre Dame cathedral who falls in love with the Roma dancer Emserelda. Today, the most well-known adaptation is arguably the animated version by Disney, which significantly changed the story from the source material to be presented to the typical family-inclusive audience.

While Disney previously had plans for its own Hunchback of Notre Dame live-action remake, which would presumably be based on the studio's own movie, Netflix is working on Quasimodo and has just announced that Vincent Cassel will be taking on the lead role (via Deadline). Cassel will thus be collaborating with Jean-Francois Richet as the director and Eric Besnard as the screenwriter.

Netflix's 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' Remake Finds Its Quasimodo in an Ocean's Franchise Star
Image
Vincent Cassel is set to star as one of the most enduring characters in the history of French literature. The Black Swan star will play the lead role in Quasimodo, which will explore the real person who inspired Victor Hugo to write The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Deadline reports that the film will be released by Netflix.

The film will be set in Paris on the eve of 1830's July Revolution, which dethroned King Charles X and installed Louis Philippe, the so-called "Citizen King." A cholera epidemic is ravaging the streets of the city, while Quasimodo is caught between political unrest and a strange, impossible love affair. The existence of a real Quasimodo isn't so far-fetched: there is evidence that the kyphotic bell-ringer at the ancient cathedral was inspired by a real person, albeit not one from the novel's 1400s setting. The memoirs of Henry Sibson, a British sculptor who...

Jason Statham's 14% Rotten Tomatoes Action Thriller With a 'Tulsa King' Star is Crushing Streaming Opposition
Image
It may have been steamrolled by critics, but Jason Statham's Expend4bles is throwing haymakers on streaming again. The fourth and final installment in the testosterone-fueled Expendables franchise has bulldozed its way back into the Starz top 10 in the last week, and it's all thanks to the unexpected ripple effect of Statham’s newest theatrical hit, A Working Man. Despite debuting with a bruising 14% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, the loud and brash 2023 action thriller has proven once again that audience taste doesn’t always line up with critical consensus. Expend4bles currently holds a far more respectable 69% audience rating, and fans are clearly hungry for more Statham mayhem while revisiting his most recent (and most explosive) team-up with Megan Fox, Dolph Lundgren, and Tulsa King’s own Sylvester Stallone.

Expend4bles first dropped in 2023 to grim reviews and a whimper at the box office, seemingly putting a nail in the franchise’s coffin.

Jason Statham Dominates Prime Video Top 10 List With Three Action Hits
Image
Action star Jason Statham is dominating the Prime Video charts today, with three of his most recent thrillers taking up residence in the Top 10. A Working Man, Wrath of Man, and The Beekeeper are all sitting pretty on the global chart for purchases, rentals, and movies available to subscribers, and all three are in good company among G20, The Accountant, and Another Simple Favor.

Released earlier this year, A Working Man sits at #1 on Prime Video, and rightfully so. As one of the highest-grossing action films of 2025 at the domestic box office, it stars The Stath as Levon Cade, an ex-Royal Marines commando-turned-construction foreman who's tasked with rescuing his boss's daughter from a gang of human traffickers. Grossing nearly $100 million worldwide, A Working Man is Verified Hot on Rotten Tomatoes with an 87% rating from fans, though critics weren't as kind to the film, giving it just a 49%.

Next up is Statham's 2021 hit,...

Jason Statham’s Franchise-Starting Classic Finds a New Streaming Home

As we head into the month of June, Peacock is inviting subscribers to enjoy a heavy dose of high-octane action, as the Jason Statham favorite, The Mechanic, is set for a streaming release. This is the perfect opportunity for those who haven’t yet taken the dive into the Statham-led series of films to jump into the action and see what it’s all about. With a 54% critics’ approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s obvious that the movie was a divisive production upon its theatrical arrival in 2011, but given that it eventually received a sequel just a few years later, there’s certainly still plenty to love for the Statham fans out there.

Jason Statham’s Sleeper Hit with 90% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score Breaks Into Streaming Top 10

If there's one thing that unites Jason Statham's recent films, barring their dependability at the box office, it's that his fans are likely to lap them up. His latest action vehicle, director David Ayer's A Working Man, appears to have concluded its theatrical run painfully shy of the $100 million milestone. But, a few years ago, another of his grim action movies was successfully able to pass this coveted milestone despite having been released at a far more precarious time during the pandemic. Now, that film — Wrath of Man — is gaining steam on streaming.

According to FlixPatrol, Wrath of Mantook the seventh spot in Prime Video's daily rankings on May 21, earning a total of 81 points. Wrath of Man has accumulated around 5,500 points on Prime Video this year. It was narrowly beaten in Monday's rankings by another action movie, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, while A Working Man topped the charts.

Jason Statham’s 14% Rotten Tomatoes Action Thriller With Megan Fox Is a Streaming Hit
Image
Jason Statham’s new movie has officially concluded its theatrical run, but another of his more recent flicks has surged to streaming success over the weekend. Statham stars alongside Megan Fox and Sylvester Stallone in Expend4bles, the 2023 action thriller that concluded the Expendables franchise. Expend4bles has been streaming on Starz for more than a year now, and it even spent more than 200 days atop streaming charts before exiting the top 10 earlier this year. However, the recent release of A Working Man has fans rushing to check out Statham’s filmography, which has propelled the film back into the Starz top 10. Jason Statham’s 42% Rotten Tomatoes Conspiracy Thriller Is Chasing ‘Reacher’ on Streaming Charts
Image
After opening up the year with A Working Man, one of Jason Statham’s older movies has resurfaced on streaming charts more than 10 years later. Statham stars alongside Stranger Things veteran Winona Ryder in Homefront, the 2013 conspiracy thriller following a former DEA agent who moves to a quiet town but soon begins to get tangled up with a drug lord and his local meth operation. Homefront, which also stars Clancy Brown, hit Prime Video not long ago, and the film has surged into the top 10, sitting at #9 at the time of writing. Homefront falls just behind Reacher, the action series led by Alan Ritchson, which sits at #8. Statham’s action film earned a 42% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but the audience-driven Popcornmeter lands at a slightly higher 61%.

Sylvester Stallone wrote the script for Homefront, and he also re-teamed with Jason Statham earlier this year to write A Working Man. The...

Jason Statham Sequel 'The Beekeeper 2' Acquired by Amazon MGM Studios
Image
The Beekeeper 2 is moving forward quickly, as the highly-anticipated sequel has now secured a theatrical distributor and an impending production start. Starring Jason Statham in the title role, The Beekeeper was a revenge thriller released in 2024 that quickly became one of the actor's highest-grossing solo action films. The Stath will return as the nation's lethal protector in a fast-moving sequel that has Amazon buzzing with excitement (and money).

According to Deadline, Amazon MGM Studios has officially acquired the worldwide distribution rights to The Beekeeper 2 in a hefty deal worth more than $50 million. The sequel will begin production this fall, which will be directed by Timo Tjahjanto (Nobody 2), who is taking over the reins after David Ayer helmed the first installment. Jason Statham Fans Have a Lot To Look Forward to Next Month
Image
Let’s face it. We could all use a little more Jason Statham in our lives. The British actor is everything that a hero should be and is hands-down one of the best modern action stars around. Fully in agreement with our sentiments, Hulu is cooking up a little something special for Statham fans next month when the streamer will make both The Transporter and The Transporter 2 available to subscribers on May 9. If you’re thinking “there’s something missing,” you’re right, because The Transporter 3 won’t be part of the streamer’s Statham-packed lineup. However, you don’t need the full trilogy when you have the first and second films, especially since the follow-up is celebrating a milestone moment with this year marking its 20th anniversary. That’s right – we’re all old!

In 2002, filmmakers Corey Yuen and Louis Leterrier introduced audiences to Frank Martin, a mercenary...

Jason Statham Believes He Has One Thing In Common With Sylvester Stallone
Image
Actor Jason Statham and Hollywood mainstay Sylvester Stallone have collaborated on six feature films together. They starred opposite each other in four "Expendables" movies (with Statham taking the lead over Stallone for the abysmal "Expend4bles"), and Statham starred in the Stallone-scripted "Homefront" in 2013. Most recently, Stallone wrote the script for the 2025 David Ayer-directed Statham vehicle "A Working Man." The pair, one can infer, know each other's work very well.

Statham, 57, has long been one of cinema's most reliable badasses, often playing cops, mercenaries, assassins, killer, or other ultra-capable dolers of violence. He has done a lot of his own stunts, and he ran down his injuries in a 2023 interview with Collider. He did a real helicopter stunt for the movie "Crank," which he said was quite difficult, and he recalled having to actually jump from a moving jetski onto the back of a speeding bus in "Transporter 2." Surprisingly,...

'A Working Man' Director David Ayer Knows Why Audiences Love Jason Statham
Image
It seems that Jason Statham can do no wrong in the eyes of the fans that regularly soak in his movies with joyful glee. Whether he's beating down the bad guys, or sharing a tender moment with one of his co-stars, the English actor is a favorite of many that have been following his career since he first broke onto the scene in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Jason Statham Action Thriller 'Parker' Hits Free Streaming in April
Image
Whether he’s an ex-assassin-turned-beekeeper, or an assassin posing as a mechanic, an ex- Special Forces soldier dragged out of retirement for one last mission, or even just a run-of-the-mill unlicensed street salesman, Jason Statham always brings a gritty magnetism to the screen. Even when what’s playing on the screen has been panned by both critics and audiences alike. Such is the case with the 2013 action thriller, Parker, which is now headed to free streaming.

But, while Parker may have been panned at the time, it’s worth a watch for anyone looking for a reliably charming performance from The Stath, who once again demonstrates his particular set of skills in this tale of a professional thief who finds himself double-crossed and left for dead.

Directed by Taylor Hackford and written by John J. McLaughlin, Parker sees Jason Statham team-up with Jennifer Lopez while facing off against The Shield star Michael Chiklis.

Gerard Butler's Plane Sequel Gets Mixed Update From Star
Image
Ship, the announced sequel to the Gerard Butler-starring Plane, gets a new update from star Mike Colter. Released in 2023 and directed by Jean-François Richet, Plane stars Butler as Brodie Torrance, an airline pilot and former Raf officer who teams up with Colter's Louis Gaspare to rescue his passengers after being forced to land in a war zone. The film was a critical and commercial success, and it was announced shortly after the film's release that a sequel called Ship was in the works. Few updates on the project have emerged since, however.

Now, during a panel at Indiana Comic Con hosted by Collider, Colter shares an update on the status of the Plane sequel. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like there's been much movement on Ship just yet, with Colter blaming the delay on the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes of 2023, which began only months after Ship's announcement. According to Colter,...

Offering an update on Ship in a conversation with Collider at Indiana Comic Con, Colter revealed that, while Ship is still on course, the project has suffered several delays. Asked about the action movie follow-up, Colter revealed that, due to the Hollywood strikes, the actor has been left waiting to get the go-ahead from Butler and his production company.

"The status on that is that it was a thing that happened during the strike. They were supposed to be following through on it [then the strike happened]. There's things going on.

'A Working Man' Clip Finds Jason Statham Doind What He Does Best
Image
“All right...let’s play.” Action movie icon Jason Statham does what he does best in a new action-packed clip from this month’s highly anticipated action thriller, A Working Man.
