The world of Game of Thrones continues to expand, and we might have new releases even before we get The Winds of Winter. As George R.R. Martin announced, he has been very busy trying to juggle writing and attending to his other commitments, this being the planned live-action spinoffs.
With so many narratives to choose from, it’s not a surprise anymore that we might get at least 10 projects, as revealed by Westerosies on Twitter:
Update on HBO’s ‘Game Of Thrones’ Universe:
• ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ (2026)

A Dream of Spring might still be a long way ahead, but speculations about possible key events that might happen here have been discussed by fans online. Those who have read George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series have an inkling or two of what could transpire both in The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.
The author has revealed that some events in Game of Thrones will show up as well in his upcoming books, but we can only guess what these could be. That said, we’ve listed some major plot points that we expect to happen in the final installment.

The rich world of Game of Thrones is filled with historical tales and some iconic moments that happened during wars that changed the course of history. From Aegon the Conqueror, taking his dragons west to conquer Westeros, to Jamie Lannister killing the Mad King, some of these moments really defined the course of history.
It was back in 2023 that a rumor was spread that a movie about Aegon’s conquest would be put into production to expand the Game of Thrones universe. Although there has been no official confirmation about the same, we think that Aegon’s conquest will not make for a good movie.
Why Aegon’s conquest cannot work as a movie
Aegon I Targaryen took Balerion, Vhagar, and Meraxes, West after the Doom of Valyria. The Targaryen king had a dream to conquer Westeros, and Dragons were the perfect means to do it (since only a few...

One of the most interesting storylines in Game of Thrones was Jaime Lannister’s murder of the Mad King, Aerys II Targaryen. It earned him the nickname Kingslayer, which is not a good title, but the motive behind it—the reason he slayed the man he vowed to protect—can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it.
David Rintoul in Game of Thrones / Credits: HBO
Jaime was part of Aerys’s Kingsguard, sworn to defend the king against all harm. In the show, he revealed to Brienne of Tarth what really happened on the day he committed the crime. The Mad King’s death was a life lesson in itself.

House of the Dragon Season 3 promises many things—from one of the biggest battles in Westeros to new major key players in the Dance of the Dragons—and recently, showrunner Ryan Condal stated they will bring to the screen an iconic magical artifact that we haven’t seen in the fantasy franchise.
Ryan Condal in SciFiNow / Credits: YouTube
He did not reveal what the object is, but it’s worth noting that this item, despite not having a major role in the story, was an ancient relic that could explain some of the biggest mysteries in the saga, such as the Targaryen’s descent into madness.
House of the Dragon will feature a familiar object from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire
Ryan Condal teased fans with what they could expect in the third installment of House of the Dragon during his interview via The Stuff Dreams are Made Of.

In the following years, Keaton starred in various comedies and dramas, such as Clean and Sober, Much Ado About Nothing, The Paper, Multiplicity, Jack Frost, Herbie: Fully Loaded, and The Other Guys.
Keaton's career saw a resurgence in 2014 after starring in Birdman, playing a washed-up actor seeking a comeback and earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Game Of Thrones started out as a brilliant adaptation, capturing the spirit of George R.R. Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire novels. However, as time went on the show raced past the published material, and as Martin stopped writing episodes and having a bigger place in the production, the show made some rather glaring mistakes. The saddest part is that many characters with massive potential appeared in the show, only to not have nearly the impact they had in the books.
Adaptations can't always do what the source material does, and this is especially true for novels. The A Song Of Ice And Fire series is known for exploring many different perspectives and uses Pov chapters from a variety of minor characters. The show was never going to match this approach, resulting in many characters going underutilized throughout its eight seasons.

In the world of Westeros, the Iron Throne is a corrosive form of influence, cutting those who are deemed unworthy to sit upon it and often creating a false sense of superiority for those who claim it. There are many terrible rulers abound in Targaryen history, but under the right circumstances, even the best of kings can still be turned into monsters by the corruption of power. Perhaps no better example exists than Aegon V, whose cautionary tale is that being a good man does not translate to being a good king, something that future monarchs of Westeros would do well to remember. Decades before the events of Game of Thrones and the War of the Five Kings, the final tragedy of Aegon changed the history of the Seven Kingdoms forever and indirectly led to the eventual rise of Mad King Aerys (David Rintoul), who spelled an end to their reign.

One of the most prominent antagonists in Game of Thrones is Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). The eldest child of Lord Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance), Cersei is used to getting everything she wants, thanks to her father's position as Hand of the King to King Aerys II Targaryen (David Rintoul). She was also drawn to her twin brother, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), with whom she developed an incestuous relationship, which continued when she eventually married Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy) after he overthrew the Targaryens.

Game of Thrones includes many characters who meet terrible ends through war, betrayal, and revenge. But this is elevated for the Targaryen family. With their position, power, and tendency to go mad, many Targaryens fall from grace throughout Westeros' history, and their stories are remembered by the entire kingdom. The series follows Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) on this path as she goes from a promising young queen to the character who ruthlessly burns King's Landing, but she is far from the first Targaryen ruler to do so. That honor belongs to Maegor the Cruel, the third Targaryen to rule Westeros, and, in the generations since, the affliction is so common that it inspired the saying, "Every time a Targaryen is born, the gods flip a coin." There are plenty of examples, including Aerion Brightflame, who died by drinking wildfire hoping to turn into a dragon, Baelor the Blessed, who starved himself...

Over ten years ago, Game of Thrones took the world by storm with the release of its first season. The violence and brutality of the story, combined with a political game that was impossible to know what would happen next, created one of the biggest shows of modern television. While the dragons and white walkers were exciting, the characters, their houses/families, and political schemes made the viewers obsessed with the show that ran for eight seasons.

“La Femme Nikita” was almost certainly not the first film about a young woman rescued from life on the streets to become a cold-blooded assassin, but the success of Luc Besson’s 1990 thriller set a template that no one seems able to shake, even 31 years later. The new film “The Protégé” follows in the footsteps of “Nikita” and far too many of its successors, with just about half as much awareness as it needs to get out of their shadow.
Director Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale”) has become a reliable provider of sturdy, polished action, but he’s seldom been able to bring to the screen what wasn’t already on the page. And after scripting “The Mechanic,” “The Equalizer” and its sequel, screenwriter Richard Wenk appears to have nothing new to contribute to the decreasingly rarified subgenre. "It's not an easy thing admitting to yourself what you really are." -Margaery After a run of episodes packed with tragic deaths, important resurrections, tearful reunions, and unexpected love connections, "Blood of My Blood" takes its foot off the gas a bit to reassess several major power dynamics and check in on some characters and locales that haven't gotten much attention of late, like Sam's visit to his father's castle or our first glimpse of Walder Frey since season 3. (As a result, it left many of the show's major groups on the sidelines for the week, including the gangs from Castle Black, Meereen, Winterfell, and the Iron Islands.) It's a necessary kind of episode, both from a plot standpoint and a tonal one...

With news arriving that HBO is developing a clutch of Game Of Thrones spinoff series, we ponder which directions the monster hit's follow-ups might take.

The big question is, once the battle for the Iron Throne is done and we’ve seen whether Daenerys ever makes it to Westeros, whether the Starks will have their vengeance and whether Tyrion ever runs out of eunuch gags, where do we go next?
Luckily for us all, the A Song Of Ice And Fire novels, as well as their extended universe which was fleshed out so intricately by The World Of Ice And Fire 'Untold History' book, has provided plenty of source material to work with. Here are just a few possible directions for prequel spin-offs.

Brian Blessed and Sir Doris the hamster make this remastered 1999 series by the creators of Peppa Pig and Ben & Holly this week’s best kid-friendly option
With decent family films fairly thin on the ground this half term, this BFI-supported tour of seven remastered episodes of the 1999 BBC animated series is almost certainly the best kid-friendly cinema option of the week. 1976 saw the publication of John Brosnan’s excellent book The Horror People. Written during the summer of 1975, it makes interesting reading 40 years down the line. Those who feature prominently in the book – Peter Cushing, Vincent Price, Jack Arnold, Michael Carreras, Sam Arkoff, Roy Ward Baker, Freddie Francis, Robert Bloch, Richard Matheson and Milton Subotsky – were still alive, as were Ralph Bates, Mario Bava, Jimmy Carreras, John Carradine, Dan Curtis, John Gilling, Robert Fuest, Michael Gough, Val Guest, Ray Milland, Robert Quarry and Michael Ripper, all of whom were given a mention. Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney Junior, Michael Reeves and James H Nicholson were not long dead. Hammer, Amicus and American International Pictures were still in existence. Writer-director Jonathan English got surprisingly lucky with the first Ironclad (2011) film, as it offered a thrilling/shocking blood thirst of video-gaming proportions, as well as an impressive cast, including Paul Giamatti, Brian Cox, Derek Jacobi, Charles Dance and the dashing James Purefoy. Still set in the harsh surroundings of 13th Century Britain, post the Great Siege of Rochester Castle, the second film, Ironclad 2: Battle For Blood, seems to have switched target audience, with a more youthful cast of mainly TV actors.
After the De Vesci castle home comes under attack from a band of marauding Celts, resulting in a critical body wound for the master of the house, Gilbert De Vesci (David Rintoul), his son Hubert (Tom Rhys Harries) is tasked with fetching his battle-scarred cousin, Guy (Tom Austen) to defend their ancestral home. But the bitter Guy comes at a price and with a band of reprobates in tow,...

UKTV's new Drama TV channel has recreated the iconic Mr Darcy lake moment from the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice to mark its launch today (July 8).
The famous scene, which featured Colin Firth as the Jane Austen romantic hero, was recently voted the UK's most memorable drama moment of all time.
Today's re-creation of the famous TV scene caused quite a stir at Hyde Park's Serpentine this morning, generating a huge amount of interest from passers-by.
The model has been built by a team of three sculptors over two months and is the height of a double decker bus.
Lead sculptor Toby Crowther said: "We took Colin Firth's famous lake scene as a starting point for creating Mr Darcy but we also read the book and looked at performances of the brooding hero by Matthew Macfadyen, David Rintoul and even Laurence Olivier.

Each Christmas and Easter season, History and other cablenets air a number of documentaries on various aspects of the Bible, usually featuring talking-head experts and iffy-looking dramatic re-creations.
Often these productions take a skeptical look at the historicity or accuracy or veracity of biblical accounts, as if the last thing in the world a documentary would want to be seen doing is taking anything in the Bible at face value.
But skepticism was the last thing on the minds of reality TV mogul Mark Burnett ("The Apprentice," "Survivor") and his wife, actress Roma Downey ("Touched by an Angel"), when they set out as executive producers of "The Bible," airing Sundays from March 3 to March 31, which is Easter Sunday this year.
Joined by their faith and a love for the sacred writings of Judaism and Christianity, they have spearheaded a 10-hour, five-part dramatic series that spans the Old and New Testaments,...

Quentin Falk writes: Although he was always polite to the point of being obsequious with his stars, Michael Winner could be a bully when it came to minor actors and humble craftsmen on his film sets. While researching my biography of Anthony Hopkins, I witnessed at first-hand, during the filming of A Chorus of Disapproval (1989) in Scarborough, Winner's verbal assault on a young actor who was required to knee Hopkins in the groin and who was understandably nervous about about how he should weigh the blow.
"You're not a bloody ballet dancer," Winner screamed at him after a few duff takes. Hopkins, who relished racing to the rescue of fellow thesps threatened by despotic directors, bellowed back: "Don't get after him, Michael. He's doing the best he can." Winner giggled nervously and drew back. On the next take, the young actor went for it with a vengeance, leaving his saviour Hopkins in some distress,...

9.45am: Welcome to today's live updates on the still-unfolding repercussions of the phone hacking scandal. Following yesterday's Commons statement and debate, the house in now in recess. Rupert Murdoch has left the UK following his testimony to MPs on Tuesday.
So, on the face of it today could appear a slight respite following an almost absurdly dramatic fortnight. A majority of English daily papers – five against four – lead on other stories, including the unfolding crisis in the eurozone.
But rest assured there will be more to come. Nick Clegg is scheduled to give an end-of-term press conference imminently. Perhaps someone could ask why he looked so detached – disinterested, even – during David Cameron's phone hacking statement. There is also surely...
