When Nickelodeon first officially launched in 1979, it was considered to be a pioneer in its field. As the first cable network aimed at children, the channel was keen to remain true to its aims and even remained ad-free until 1984. Thus, it's fair to say that the long future of children's programming began at Nickelodeon.
The network is best recognized for its array of stylized and imaginative cartoons, such as SpongeBob SquarePants and Hey Arnold! But because of its status in the industry, a lot of viewers tend to overlook its more experimental and niche programs. As a result, Nickelodeon has become a hub of underrated programs, many of which are desperate to be discovered by die-hard fans.
