Erika Jayne’s ‘Real Housewives’ Spinoff Documentary ‘Bet It All on Blonde’ Lands Premiere Date, New Trailer (Exclusive)
Image
Bravo’s “Erika Jayne: Bet It All on Blonde,” a two-hour documentary special, will premiere on March 6, the network announced Wednesday. According to the logline for the special, the spinoff of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” will employ “a compilation of formal interviews and observational footage” to capture cast member Jayne during her preparation for her Las Vegas residency, which viewers saw her score on the show’s currently airing 13th season. The special covers the “frenzied six-week run-up to opening night” at the House of Blues on August 25, 2023, as Jayne works on assembling her songs, wardrobe and choreography while contending with the “realities of budget constraints and a ticking clock.”

“Bet It All on Blonde” was originally announced at BravoCon in early November, and the Vegas residency represents a comeback for Jayne, as the backdrop for the special revolves around her legal and financial problems after the downfall of her estranged husband,...

In his acceptance, Morgen was effusive in his praise of the British rock star, songwriter, visual artist, and actor who died in 2016 at the age of 69.

“David Bowie,” he said as he held the gramophone trophy, “the single greatest artist who’s walked the face of this earth.”

Director Brett Morgen accepts the Grammy Award for Best Music Film.

Morgen also thanked his wife, Debra Eisenstadt — an executive producer of the film — their children and the executors of Bowie’s estate, including William “Bill” Zysblat.

“I met with David Bowie’s executors…...

Beyhive Buzz Boosts Beyoncé's Renaissance To $21 Million Opening Weekend At The Box Office
Image
2023 has become the year of the concert movie, with "Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé" being the second release in the space of a few months to debut at the top of the box office. Not only did "Renaissance" earn a rare A+ CinemaScore based on audience exit polling and an even rarer 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes (as of this writing), it has also lit up the usually quiet post-Thanksgiving weekend.

Like "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour," Beyoncé's big-screen extravaganza has been brought to theaters through a direct deal with AMC Theatres Distribution, cutting out the middleman of a major studio distributor. The exhibitor began soliciting films from independent filmmakers back in 2010 through the AMC Independent program, but has recently grown more ambitious and, in doing so, ruffled a few feathers in Hollywood. "Renaissance" won't reach the dizzying heights of "The Eras Tour," but it'll be a profitable little cherry...

‘Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé’ Hopes To Pull In More Than The Single Ladies With $20M+ Opening
Image
Exclusive: So AMC’s second concert movie, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, hit tracking recently with a $20M opening projection. You’ll remember that the No. 1 circuit in the world, which is distributing the movie to other exhibitors through Variance (which also was tapped to handle AMC’s concert movie Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour) set a Dec. 1 release date. That’s a notoriously slow post-Thanksgiving frame for moviegoing.

Renaissance, which has more of documentary quality to it than Eras Tour, always was expected to debut in this range, so no surprise here. When the movie was announced, despite Beyoncé’s latest concert tour grossing close to $600M, per Live Nation back in August — the seventh-highest-grossing concert of all time, with wild estimates out there that the tour could rack up $2.4 billion — distribution sources have been figuring that the film would not post Eras Tour-type opening numbers. The Swift pic...

Bravo Sets Two-Part Erika Jayne Doc ‘Bet It All on Blonde’: Watch Tense First Trailer
Image
Bravo is upping the ante on Erika Jayne, ordering a documentary series following the embattled “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star and pop singer as she mounts a solo Las Vegas music residency.

“Erika Jayne: Bet It All on Blonde” will air in two parts in the second quarter of 2024. Combining interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, the doc will follow Jayne as she embarks on her most ambitious stage effort yet — all while grappling with fallout from the implosion of her marriage and civil lawsuits against her and husband Tom Girardi (as well as new criminal accusations surrounding the once-venerated lawyer). The news was announced out of BravoCon 2023 in Las Vegas.

“Nothing is making me happy,” Jayne laments in the first trailer for the series. Budget issues, her plunging waistline (it’s hormones!) and the eyes of a cynical media all befall Jayne as she hopes to launch her show, one...

Pulp Fiction pinball machine announced with the involvement of Quentin Tarantino
Image
Of all the movie-inspired pinball machines out there, Pulp Fiction is perhaps one of the best-suited. Chicago Gaming Company has announced a new Pulp Fiction pinball machine that looks as though it would be perfectly at home at Jack Rabbit Slims.

The new Pulp Fiction pinball machine was developed at the request of Quentin Tarantino, who wanted a retro-style pinball machine for his home. The director was involved throughout the development of the machine, so you can be sure it’s full of all the easter eggs and tidbits one would expect. Check out a few pictures below of the Pulp Fiction pinball machine below, including a surprisingly delicious-looking Big Kahuna burger.

“Legendary pinball designer Mark Ritchie masterfully crafted a playfield which on its surface appears comparable to games from this era but outside of initial perception features more mechanisms and greater depth than most games produced today,” reads the official description of the machine.

Exclusive: Iran Election Results Totally Corrupt
As thousands of protesters took to the streets in Tehran this weekend, beginning what would swell into Iran’s largest protests since the revolution of 1979, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad didn’t want to hear their complaints that last week’s presidential election had been manipulated. Defending the vote’s legitimacy, he likened his opponents to unruly soccer fans acting up after their team had lost. But Ahmadinejad glossed over a glaring — and still unexplained — red flag. How do you count 40 million hand-written ballots in a matter of hours? In our post-hanging chad era, it should be fairly obvious that ballot-counting is a) a total pain in the ass, b) a not-so-quick process, and c) bureaucratic hell. Just ask the folks in Minnesota, where it took more than two weeks to hand-count the 2.9 million ballots cast in the Senate race between Republican Norm Coleman and Democrat Al Franken. And we all know how...
