‘Wheel of Fortune’: Pat Sajak Reacts to Married Couple’s Epic Fail
Image
Is romance dead? Long-time game show host Pat Sajak certainly seemed to think so on Wednesday’s (February 14) Valentine’s Day episode of Wheel of Fortune. The long-running show is celebrating Valentine’s with Sweethearts Week, which sees couples competing against one another. It also means plenty of puzzles relating to marriage, dating, and romantic gestures. Yet, for one unlucky couple on Wednesday’s episode, romance was the last thing on their mind. Trent and Christy Turner, from Waynesville, Ohio, faced off against Joe and Amy Robbins, from Alexander, Arkansas, and Dameron and Drew Obert Baron from Dallas, Texas. Early in the episode, Trent and Christy, who have been married for 32 years and have three grown kids together, explained how, initially, Trent went on a date with Christy’s sister. However, the sister suggested Trent go out with Christy instead, and the rest, as they say, is history. Yet, despite...

Jennifer Garner, Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldaña, and Walker Scobell in The Adam Project (2022)
The 15 Best Time Travel Movies Ever Made
Jennifer Garner, Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldaña, and Walker Scobell in The Adam Project (2022)
In Netflix’s “The Adam Project,” a fighter pilot from the future named Adam (Ryan Reynolds) accidentally crash lands in 2022, and has to team up with his 12-year-old former self (Walker Scobell) in order to have a chance at a future victory. But while Adam physically journeys to his own past, other time travel movies have seen objects, communication, and even consciousness skip back and forth along the timeline to affect their stories.

Below, we look at 15 of the very best movies centered around time travel, each putting its own unique spin on the concept of characters who, in some way, manage to traverse time.

“Time After Time” (1979) Warner Bros.

While none of the cinematic adaptations of the prolific works of 19th century science-fiction writer Hg Wells are on this list, the writer himself is (or at least a fictionalized version of him) in the time hopping murder mystery “Time After Time.

Drive-In Dust Offs: Time After Time (1979)

(Okay, I kissed Bev Peters on the cheek under the schoolyard tire when I was seven, but that fizzled out quickly.) I did however make my way to my small town’s Orpheum theatre at the age of nine to see what looked like a promising horror/sci-fi blend, Nicholas Meyer’s Time After Time (1979), and stumbled out into the darkness with a new understanding of what romance meant to me.

An Orion/Warner Bros. co-production, Time After Time was released late September to good reviews and receipts, bringing in $13 million at the box office. Variety called it “an entertaining trifle” and Janet Maslin said “Time After Time is every bit as magical...
