Kevin Bacon is dusting off his boots. Could we be heading back to Perfection, Nevada? That’s right, Tremors fans, grab your popcorn and prep the underground sensors—because the Og 1990 monster mash might just be crawling back to the big screen, and this time, Kevin Bacon could be leading the charge.
After decades of spin-offs, straight-to-video sequels, and one wild TV detour in 2003, the team behind the cult classic has officially reclaimed the rights. Translation? There’s a real shot at a proper Tremors sequel with Bacon back in action, 35 years later, and hopefully still running from Graboid-infested chaos with that same cowboy swagger.
In case you missed the memo, Tremors—directed by Ron Underwood—started out as a box office bust in ’90 but clawed its way into cult legend status. It’s got everything: dusty towns, seismic jump scares, and monsters that make you fear the ground beneath your feet.

The founders of Stampede Entertainment, the team behind Tremors, say they’ve reclaimed the rights to the cult monster movie from Universal and are planning to expand the franchise.
“We are discussing a return-to-Perfection sequel,” they said in a blog post, referencing the small desert town in Nevada their 1990 creature feature is located, “and one or two more outlandish ideas featuring graboids in new settings.”
The idea for the next movie will come straight from Stampede Entertainment partners Ron Underwood, who directed the original, and writers Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson, both of whom took turns directing sequels to the first. They said in the blog posted on Wednesday that they “aren’t reading outside ideas” and that the next film “will not be a remake [of] the first movie with a new cast.”

Tremorscreators Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson discuss bringing Kevin Bacon back to the franchise after a major creative win.
Per Bloody Disgusting, the original creators and creative team behind Tremors have officially won back the rights to the original film, opening the door for a new entry free of studio interference. In a statement released by Maddock, Wilson, director Ron Underwood, and producer Nancy Roberts, the team noted that they are expressly avoiding reading any "outside ideas."
The statement continues, "We are discussing a return-to-Perfection sequel, and one or two more outlandish ideas featuring graboids in new settings. Whatever we decide to pitch to Hollywood, it will not be a remake the first movie with a new cast. Nor will it be a version of our original script for Tremors 5." The statement also confirms that the team is "considering ideas that feature the return of Kevin Bacon as Val, but no promises!

Kevin Bacon has expressed interest in reprising his role as Valentine McKee in Tremors numerous times throughout the years. From replying to fans, saying he's just "waiting for the call," to saying the movie is his only film that he's rewatched since it came out, it's safe to say the handyman character is one of his favorites. Now, Bacon just might get the opportunity to be Valentine again as the creators of Tremors recently won back the rights to the 1990 script. This gives them creative control over the franchise after not having any involvement in Universal Studio's recent sequels.
According to Bloody Disgusting, Stampede Entertainment, the team behind the 1990 movie and its first three sequels, saw a major victory as it secured the rights to the first installment's script. Director Ron Underwood, producer Nancy Roberts, and writers Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson can now let their imaginations run wild if...

The 1990 creature feature Tremors is one of my all-time favorite movies – and in 1996, it received one of the best direct-to-video sequels ever made when Tremors II: Aftershocks (watch it Here) hit store shelves. Today, Arrow Video announced that they’re bringing Tremors II to 4K on November 27th, and they’re also packing the release with new special features! Copies can be pre-ordered through the Arrow Video website.
Directed by S.S. Wilson, who also wrote the screenplay with Brent Maddock, Tremors II: Aftershocks has the following synopsis: After spending all the reward money from his first encounter with the giant, man-eating worms, the Graboids, Earl Bassett agrees to hunt more deadly creatures at a Mexican oil refinery for $50,000 each. Knowing he can’t take on the monsters alone, Earl recruits Burt Gummer, another veteran of the Nevada incident, to provide the weapons. However, Graboids are evolving to attack above ground…...

This 1990 monster romp still feels bright, smart & fresh, a mix of light comedy and old-fashioned scares. The entire show is one long battle against smelly burrowing beasts called ‘Graboids.’ Desert handymen Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward must work hard to avoid taking their place in the Graboid Food Chain. Ambitious it ain’t, but it delivers what monster fans want — gross-out thrills, excellent effects and solid laughs. Arrow’s 4K Ultra HD disc is as sharp as a tack, and a second Blu-ray disc contains an unprecedented volume of featurettes, interviews and production documentation.

Last night I watched Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's 1947 Oscar-winning Black Narcissus telling the story of a group of nuns who set out to establish a school in the desolate Himalayas. Of course, that short description does nothing to describe what actually happens in this film. There are hints along the way, and you realize the setup is perfect once you go back and watch it again (which I did this morning), but the most striking character arc belongs to Sister Ruth played by Kathleen Byron. We are first introduced to Sister Ruth as an empty chair and Sister Clodagh (Deborah Kerr) saying, "But Sister Ruth is ill," and asking, "Do you think our vocation is her vocation?" To which Mother Dorothea (Nancy Roberts), "Yes, she's a problem. I'm afraid she'll be a problem for you, too." With that said, here are ten screen captures of...
