Do you know those shows that no matter how many times you watch them, they never lose their magic? Schitt’s Creek is definitely one of those rare gems, and even after five years since its conclusion, it's still just as hilarious as ever.
Since we're in a day and age where reboots and revivals are increasingly popular, who's to say this beloved comedy series won’t make a triumphant return to delight fans once more? In fact, it looks like the show's co-creator has just hinted that a reunion movie or revival could potentially happen in the future.

Toronto — Social-media phenomenon Andrew “King Bach” Bachelor has signed on to portray U.S. sprint icon Carl Lewis in “Hate the Player: The Ben Johnson Story,” a six-episode satirical miniseries now filming in Toronto for GameTV and Paramount+ Canada. Created by BAFTA-winner Anthony Q. Farrell and produced by New Metric Media with Bay Mills Studios, the project revisits the infamous 1988 Olympic doping scandal through the eyes of Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson, played by Shamier Anderson.
Producers say principal photography began on 20 June and the series is set to premiere in early 2026, marking one of the first collaborations in which a domestic streamer and a linear network will share a simultaneous launch window. The creative team includes executive producers Farrell, Anderson, Stephan James and New Metric chief Mark Montefiore, with directors R.T. Thorne and Cory Bowles aiming for a tone that mixes sports biopic with irreverent comedy.

Social media star-turned-actor Andrew Bachelor has joined Shamier Anderson in the upcoming Paramount+ and GameTV satirical mini-series Hate the Player: The Ben Johnson Story.
Bachelor, also known as King Bach, will play U.S. sprinter Carl Lewis, a fierce rival to Canadian Ben Johnson (Anderson) who in 1988 cheated his way to a gold medal in the 100 meter final at the Seoul Olympics.
Bachelor starred in Netflix comedy Coffee and Kareem, alongside Taraji P. Henson, Ed Helms and Betty Gilpin, the Netflix horror The Babysitter: Killer Queen with Jenna Ortega, and the romantic comedy Holidate with Emma Roberts and Kristin Chenoweth.
Bachelor will bring his real-life sprinting background while attending Florida State University, and that of his athlete father in Jamaica, to the role. “Carl Lewis was a hero of mine — not just because of his dominance, but because he excelled in multiple events, just like I did. If there is one show that we need more of, it’s Brilliant Minds. The first season has come to an end, and now all eyes are on whether Brilliant Minds season 2 will happen.
NBC hasn’t canceled or renewed the series just yet. In a way, this is a good thing. No news is good news at this point in the TV schedule—a renewal would just be better. It gives us hope that there will be more to come, and it’s clear that there are more stories to tell.
So, what are the chances that NBC will decide to renew this series? This is one show that’s definitely on the bubble.
Brilliant Minds season 2 has a 50/50 chance at this point
This is one of those shows that is unfairly on the bubble, and part of that does come down to the pilot episode. I’m not going to lie.

Brilliant Minds returned from its winter break with its two-hour finale. In Brilliant Minds season 1, episode 12, it was all about the collapsed building.
Caution: This post contains Spoilers from Brilliant Minds season 1, episode 12.
The penultimate episode quickly picked up off the back of the fall finale. Ericka’s building had collapsed, and we knew that she was inside when it happened. Wolf and the others didn’t know, but they had a feeling. Nobody had seen Ericka and they couldn’t get a hold of her.
Sure enough, Wolf headed out to the building. Nichols had been called out to treat a patient, who was trapped under the rubble, and Wolf wasn’t going to let him go alone. Meanwhile, the interns needed to deal with patients coming into the hospital, and Ericka had a medical emergency of his own.

'Brilliant Minds' Reckons With the Aftermath of the Building Collapse in New Midseason Return Images
Brilliant Minds' midseason cliffhanger left the life of one of Dr. Wolf's (Zachary Quinto) interns in danger as part of Ericka's (Ashleigh Lathrop) residential building collapsed. When the show returns with a two-hour mid-season premiere which will also serve as the Season 1 finale on January 6, the Bronx General team will deal with a massive event that rocks the city and their team. Aptly titled "The Doctor Whose World Collapsed," Brilliant Minds Season 1, Episode 12 deals with the immediate events following the building's collapse as everyone jumps into action to search and rescue those trapped in the debris. The arc carries over to Episode 13, "The Man Who Can't See Faces," as the team grapples with the aftermath of Ericka's tragedy. NBC has released some images from the episodes that tease these arcs and more, including guest appearances from Karen Robinson (Schitt's Creek) and Mandy Patinkin (Criminal Minds).

“Cross” star Samantha Walkes says filming the Season 1 finale of the hit Prime Video series was a “beautiful” collaborative experience between the cast and crew.
“We all sit at that table in the cabin [where] me and the kids [were],” Walkes, who plays Elle Monteiro, began, saying it was the episode’s director Carl Seaton who wanted to bring everyone together for the creative brainstorm. “We sat there for like an hour discussing what we think needs to happen how this needs to play out, what this should look like, what should it sound like, what are the things that thrill us, that are hiccups that we don’t understand? Are there holes in the script?”
“It has to do with [director] Carl Seaton and the way that he directs. He loves discussion,” Walkes continued. “We would just swap off, and it was a very collaborative experience. It was beautiful.”

It's always nice to hear a story where someone tells Hollywood to go f*ck itself. Which is, quite literally, what James Patterson did when executives asked him to re-write his iconic Alex Cross character as a white man. And now Cross television star Aldis Hodge — who plays the titular character — is speaking out about what it means to have kept Alex Cross a Black man.
Speaking with BuzzFeed, Hodge explained that he was "shocked, impressed, and proud" when he heard the author of the wildly successful Alex Cross novels was asked by some Hollywood executives to sign a seven-figure deal — but only if he changed the character's race to white.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last month, Patterson explained the story as such:
"Here's an interesting thing about the Hollywood 'Cross' stuff. When I wrote the first Alex Cross book, I didn't have a lot of money and Hollywood came calling — knock,...

[This story contains major spoilers from the season finale of Cross.]
When creator Ben Watkins first started formulating images of how Cross would look in the early stages of the development of the Prime Video series, he had an immediate sense of whose likeness would fit the titular role of Alex Cross.
“The more I started to define who that character would be in this day and age, the more I started to picture a certain actor and it was Aldis Hodge,” Watkins tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Aldis became the archetype.”
At the time, Watkins had no idea whether Hodge would be available, or even interested, in starring in his crime thriller based on James Patterson’s popular book series. In fact, Watkins was told that the actor, who had just finished working on Black Adam, was unavailable so he advised his casting department to use Hodge as their inspiration during auditions. Prime Videos new detective series, Cross, has gotten a lot of buzz, enough that it already had a Season 2 guaranteed long before it premiered. Fans of the James Patterson books that Alex Cross originates from may already have some clues about what to expect in the future season, especially about a major antagonist. The character of sharp FBI agent Kayla Craig is awfully similar to the name Kyle Craig in Pattersons books. The latter, once a friend of Cross, eventually becomes a major villain to defeat. Do we see the writing on the creative wall here?
In a recent interview with MovieWeb, Alona Tal, who plays Craig in the series, was quick to note: This is the fun part. Since this is a new world, any resemblance [of the two characters] is just fuel for the speculation, and that keeps you at the edge of your seat. In every good character, there has to...

Warning: The following contains major Spoilers for Cross season 1!Cross' creator breaks down the season 1 ending and the reveal of Maria's (Chauntee Schuler Irving) killer. Prime Video's series stars Aldis Hodge as the titular detective, who comes to discover that Miss Nancy (Karen Robinson) is responsible for his wife's murder as revenge after Cross's testimony put her adoptive daughter Deirdre away for life, which resulted in her death. Miss Nancy tells Cross what Maria's last word is in the finale, or what she heard. Meanwhile, Cross season 1 sees Cross catching the Fanboy Killer, Ed Ramsey (Ryan Eggold), ending with Ramsey behind bars but being denied the recognition he craves.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly for the show's premiere, Watkins broke down Cross season 1's ending. The creator began by admitting that he "never considered" killing Ramsey because that would give him the win by being executed like "the legends" he worships.

Aldis Hodge is coming to TV screens as Alex Cross, and he’s ready to crack any case.
It’s the first time ever that fans get to see the iconic character from James Patterson’s popular book series come to life on television. However, in this TV adaptation, he takes on a whole new set adventures that have never been told between the pages.
Writer and producer Ben Watkins crafted this new vision of “Cross,” which takes place in the nation’s capital of Washington, D.C., where criminals lurk during the day and the night. But no crime is too big of challenge for Cross.
Some supporting cast members include Stacie Greenwell, Sharon Taylor, Mercedes de la Zerda. Dwain Murphy, Karen Robinson, Jason Rogel, Siobhan Murphy and more. But check out the main case below.

When we heard there was going to be another adaptation of the Alex Cross novels by James Patterson, I think a few of us worried. Nobody has quite managed to capture the man we saw Cross as in the books. Well, Aldis Hodge has done it in the Prime Video series Cross.

All eight episodes of the first season are now available. I had high hopes once I saw Amazon renew the series way ahead of its premiere. It meant that the hype was good and the execs were impressed with the series. It gave me feelings that I had with the likes of Jack Ryan and Reacher.

There were plenty of twists and turns leading up to the Echoes ending, but there still remained a lot of unanswered questions after the Netflix miniseries had concluded. Echoes offers a unique spin on the good-twin-evil-twin trope. Though the ending of Echoes resolves much of the tension created by its plot, the unreliability of the series narrative means that viewers are left with more questions than answers. Echoes follows the story of Leni and Gina (both played by Michelle Monaghan), twins who have created chaos in the lives of their loved ones by switching places with each other.
Though swapping identities was meant to benefit them, neither got what they wanted. Echoes set up a lot of mysteries, but these were not all resolved, which surrounds the ending of Echoes in an air of ambiguity. “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent” may be the biggest original TV series premiere Canada has ever had. That means, when that famous “dun-dun” opens the series on Feb. 22 via Citytv, the pressure is on.
It’s notoriously hard to get a show greenlit in Canada. Funding challenges, market size and competition from U.S. acquisitions mean few, if any, Canadian series debut on the Big 3 commercial networks each season. Even public broadcaster CBC, which boasts the highest number of originals on a major network, still relies on acquisitions to fill out its primetime programming grid.
Figuring out how to make noise with a new series in a crowded landscape isn’t a uniquely Canadian challenge, but there are more hurdles here. That’s why from the beginning, a Canadian adaptation of “Criminal Intent” felt like a win — at least from a viewership and marketing standpoint. It’s a recognizable...

Eugene Levy starred in Schitt’s Creek for six seasons with the show wrapping up in 2020. After almost three years since the show’s finale, some fans have not lost hope of a possible revival.
Levy, who co-created the sitcom with his co-star son Dan Levy, recently said to “never say never” about revisiting the Rose family.
“I know my son Daniel has said this, we’d love to get together with these people again and take the show and the characters to yet another level,” Levy told Radio Times.
He continued, “There’s nothing in the works right now to be honest, but you know, we’ve never stopped thinking about what might happen down the line. We’re certainly open to anything, I think when the idea that is the right idea presents itself we’ll probably act on, I guess.”

Theoretically, what sets Peacock’s The Calling apart from the gazillions of other cop dramas already in existence is that its protagonist, Avi (Jeff Wilbusch), is not only deeply religious, but guided by his Jewish faith in his work as a detective. When a greener colleague, Janine (Juliana Canfield), comments in the premiere on his knack for drawing out a suspect by expressing compassion, Avi rejects the notion that it’s merely a professional “trick.”
“The Talmud teaches us to see a single human being as the whole world, that each person is entitled to infinite respect and concern. Everyone is precious,” he loftily informs her, and he means it.
But The Calling, from David E. Kelley, seems only so interested in exploring the nuanced relationship between Avi’s beliefs and Avi’s job, or for that matter in ethical or emotional complications of any sort.

The first look of David E. Kelley’s investigative drama series “The Calling” were released Monday by Peacock, offering a glimpse into the show ahead of its Nov. 10 debut on the streamer.

Netflix limited series “Echoes” landed 36.58 million hours viewed from August 29-September 4, according to the streamer. That’s good enough to rank number one for the final week of summer among Netflix’s English-language TV shows — but it’s just plain not good enough.
For any individual title, being number one on Netflix is an impressive feat. The Netflix library has 17,000 pieces of content, more than half of which are originals or exclusives. However, quality and quantity — for both subs and for programming — are getting harder to come by.
The streamer began sharing its weekly Top 10 in late June/early July 2021. Of the 62 weeks Netflix has measured thus far, by our count 42 had a number-one show with more than twice the viewership of “Echoes” last week. As recent as a month ago (and several other times this summer), this “Echoes” performance wouldn’t have even made the Top 5.

Echoes has emerged as Netflix’s latest hit series – despite its poor ratings.
Released on 19 August, the dark thriller series follows identical twin sisters Leni and Gina (both played by Michelle Monaghan) who decide to swap lives. When one of the siblings goes missing, however, a mystery begins to unravel.
The show also stars Matt Bomer, Karen Robinson, and Daniel Sunjata.
Echoes has finally dethroned Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman as number one on the streaming giant. The comic book adaptation starring Tom Sturridge occupied the top spot for four consecutive weeks.
The huge popularity of Echoes is somewhat surprising given that the show has a 29 per cent audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The seven-episode series has also received terrible reviews from critics.
The Guardian’s Arian Horton wrote that Echoes “limply tries several different lanes” for its mystery in a two-star review. Likewise, the Financial Times called it a “hammy box-ticking exercise”.

When legendary producer David E. Kelley calls a series of crime novels “riveting,” it’s a safe bet he’ll be turning them into equally compelling television. Enter The Calling. Loosely based on The Missing File from Israeli author Dror Mishani, the drama (once titled The Missing) looks at spiritual, introspective, compassionate, uniquely named NYPD detective Avraham Avraham, a special investigator in Brooklyn’s diverse Crown Heights neighborhood. “Avi is a very complex character,” the Israeli-born Wilbusch says. His calling is solving missing persons and homicide cases through uncanny observational abilities. He’s also devoted to his work family: eager rookie detective Janine Harris, acerbic veteran cop Earl Malzone and supportive boss Capt. Helen Davies. While Wilbusch says the series retains plenty of Kelley’s signature offbeat humor, the cases reveal Avi as a “haunted soul” who does his work ...

However, when one of them goes missing, both lives quickly begin to unravel as long-hidden secrets and their tangled web of deception threatens to come to the surface. If...

In most ways, “Echoes” is just another wacky Netflix mystery show: questionably written, filled with recognizable B-listers, and filmed in such a way that if you didn’t already know it was a Netflix show, you’d be able to figure it out pretty quick. But in time, starting about halfway through the seven-episode limited series, this particular wacky Netflix mystery show becomes something a whole lot weirder and a whole lot more interesting than most that have come before.
Michelle Monaghan plays identical twins Gina and Leni, who have spent their entire lives switching places with total ease. Gina may have moved to Hollywood and lost the soft country twang she grew up with, but she can slip back into it and Leni can slip out of it so easily that it’s almost as if there is no difference between them anymore, which is sort of the point.

It’s all too easy to understand the appeal of a show like “Echoes” to a streaming service like Netflix. From creator Vanessa Gazy and showrunners Quentin Peeples and Brian Yorkey (“13 Reasons Why”), “Echoes” feels like “Firefly Lane” and “Behind Her Eyes” collided to create a melodrama as deeply strange as it is quickly ingestible. Its seven episodes fly by fast enough to distract from the fact that they only barely make sense. It’s twisty, but repetitive, making sure every plot point gets several scenes to marinate. All the while, Michelle Monaghan throws herself into the challenge of portraying twins with the delirious freedom that the show’s hyperbolic framework allows. Once, “Echoes” might have been a made-for-tv movie; now, it’s a limited series built to set up camp in Netflix’s Top 10 until another version of the same (maybe Emily Deschanel’s upcoming “Devil in Ohio”?) knocks it out.

Enough time has passed that I don’t feel guilty revealing that Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige builds to a magical reveal that ties together the film’s themes about twins, doppelgängers and whatnot. Don’t worry, it’s more complicated than that, but the film (and its literary source material) understand that it’s better to convey key information in a fleeting shot likely to confuse much of the audience than to expend so much effort spelling things out that the magic vanishes entirely. Sure, there are entire shows dedicated to pulling back the curtain on the secrets of prestidigitation, but I’m going to wager that many (most?) viewers are more interested in being properly amazed.
