The Challenge winner Jenny West is ‘briefly retiring’ after gruesome injuries from mishap in Bali
Image
Weeks ago, viewers saw Jenny West conquer brutal conditions in the final for The Challenge: Battle of the Eras to win her second season of MTV’s show.

Now, she’s on the mend after contracting an illness and suffering some rough-looking injuries while on a trip to Bali in Indonesia.

The injuries were the result of her falling off a scooter, leaving her with cuts and bruises on various parts of her body.

She shared a carousel post of photos to her Instagram in which she explained all that occurred and showed off some of the nasty cuts and bruises she sustained.

According to Jenny, she also contracted “some kind of parasite illness,” which kept her in bed for “2 days straight.”

The Challenge’s Devin Walker addresses speculation that Season 40 was rigged
Derrick Kosinski in The Challenge (1998)
Following The Challenge: Battle of the Eras, some fans may have thought that production rigged aspects of the show to help specific castmates.

One thing fans and castmates called out included an elimination event involving Horacio Gutierrez and Derrick Kosinski.

In addition, Jordan Wiseley and fans pointed out a significant daily challenge mistake involving Jenny West, Cara Maria Sorbello, and Tori Deal.

Devin Walker was there for some of the season, but castmate Kyland Young eliminated him in Episode 9.

Devin appeared in All Stars Rivals from there, teaming with Leroy Garrett based on previous game moves.

That season didn’t go well either, as the duo lost to the formidable pair of Adam Larson and Steve Meinke. Soon after MTV aired his elimination, Devin spoke about those “rigged” claims.

The Challenge star Brad Fiorenza surprises fans and castmates with new look
Image
Brad Fiorenza and his beard returned to The Challenge in the past several years, first competing on the All Stars spin-offs before appearing in several of MTV’s flagship seasons.

He arrived at Battle For a New Champion as one of the former winners that competed in one elimination as a mercenary. Viewers saw Kyland Young defeat him.

Brad competed on Season 40, aka Battle of the Eras, where he was part of the Era 1 team with other MTV OGs.

However, viewers saw the OGs quickly eliminated from the show, except for Rachel Robinson, who won along with Jordan Wiseley and Jenny West. Brad survived until Episode 6, when Cory Wharton eliminated him.

He didn’t return for All Stars Rivals, although some of his Season 40 castmates, including Leroy Garrett, Devin, Aneesa Ferreira, and Katie Cooley, participated.

As that season airs on MTV, Brad recently surprised everyone by debuting a fresh new...

Johnny Bananas claims The Challenge used ‘Envy vote’ twist against him on Season 40
Rachel Robinson
The Challenge: Battle of the Eras is in the books with co-champions Jenny West and Rachel Robinson for the women, alongside Jordan Wiseley for the men.

However, many fans believe a significant twist ruined things for Season 40 and how the final standings went.

Count Johnny Bananas among them, as his third-place finish doesn’t seem to sit well with him due to the Karma Vote.

That twist allowed eliminated castmates to assign scores on a scale of one to five to all of the remaining competitors. A five was the best score possible, while a one was the worst.

Production and Tj Lavin indicated that the eliminated cast members gave points based on how they felt that particular castmate treated them and others.

However, some of these scores may have been based on ill will because that castmate sent them into elimination during the season. Some castmates may have assigned...

The Challenge’s Rachel Robinson reacts to fan claims she was ‘handed 200 grand’ and ‘bashing’ castmates

Rachel Robinson received The Challenge Goat award after adding another win in her return for MTV’s Battle of the Eras.

She’d previously won two other seasons, The Gauntlet and The Duel II, making her a three-time champion of the competition series.

However, her latest win was controversial as fans and former cast members, including Zach Nichols, suggested the Karma Vote “tarnished” the game.

After initially coming in third place, Rachel finished in a tie for first with castmate and ally Jenny West due to the Karma Vote moving her up.

Meanwhile, the Karma Vote dropped Michele Fitzgerald from a second-place finish to third place, resulting in less prize money.

The Challenge’s Paulie Calafiore claims Karma Vote ‘slighted’ competitors and ‘tarnished’ championship win
Paulie Calafiore in Big Brother (2000)
Paulie Calafiore blasted The Challenge’s Karma Vote for its impact on the Battle of the Eras final.

According to the two-time MTV finalist, the Season 40 twist “slighted” one competitor in the finish and “tarnished” another’s win.

Competitors eliminated throughout the season participated in the Karma Vote. They gave each of the remaining cast members one to five points based on how they felt about them.

A one was the lowest score someone could give, while a five was the highest. These scores were factored into how competitors finished in the final standings.

During the final, Jordan Wiselely dominated on the men’s side. The Karma Vote didn’t matter as he won his fifth Challenge championship, but the women’s side featured a closer battle.

Jenny West finished atop the leaderboard, followed by Michele Fitzgerald. However, the Karma Vote dropped Michele to third, giving her $50,000 less prize money.

The Challenge winner Jenny West says she ‘still deserved to win’ after Season 40 controversy
Rachel Robinson
Jenny West was one of three winners of MTV’s The Challenge: Battle of the Eras, but some fans weren’t happy she even reached the final.

The Total Madness winner returned after several years away from the competition series and performed impressively in her second-straight final.

Due to a Karma Vote twist, which many fans disagreed with, she finished in a tie for first place with her friend and ally, Rachel Robinson.

However, she also won several daily challenges to gain safety from eliminations or power in the game.

One of those daily challenges caused controversy, as Jordan Wiseley and fans pointed out that she hadn’t finished her puzzle correctly after MTV aired Episode 17.

Despite that, host Tj Lavin announced her as the winner. It meant she was safe from consideration for elimination. It also gave Jenny the power to choose who faced the daily challenge loser, Tori Deal,...

The Challenge’s Michele Fitzgerald says ’thank you everyone’ for Season 40 as fans claim she was ‘robbed’

The Challenge: Battle of the Eras season officially concluded as eight competitors ran, or swam, through the final.

It featured a dominant performance on the men’s side, as Jordan Wiseley outdid his fellow finalists every step of the way.

The women’s side also featured strong performances, including Michele Fitzgerald showing her swimming skills.

However, the Karma Vote twist came into play later, and while it didn’t affect the men’s standings, it certainly impacted the women’s.

Host Tj Lavin revealed Michele dropped from second to third place due to her Karma points. Meanwhile, Rachel Robinson’s Karma score helped her move from third to a tie for first place with Jenny West.

Following the episode airing on MTV, Michele commented about her Season 40, in which many fans believe she was “robbed” in the final.

The Challenge fans slam Season 40 final for Karma Vote and claim one competitor was ‘robbed’
T.J. Lavin
The Challenge: Battle of the Eras final officially ended, and the winners were revealed after battling through swimming, singing, coin counting, and puzzles.

After each checkpoint, host Tj Lavin revealed who finished in first place, second, third, and fourth.

However, he didn’t hesitate to remind competitors about the Karma Vote and how it might come back to help or hurt a finalist.

That twist arrived earlier in the season, as Tj told eliminated cast members to stay behind after they lost in eliminations or a purge.

Each could award one to five points to the remaining castmates based on how they felt about them. A one was the lowest score, with five being the highest.

With the finalists unaware of this throughout the season, it meant how they treated others in the game could come back to bite them. Fans voiced frustration, indicating one competitor got “robbed” by the twist in the final standings.

‘The Challenge’ 40 Winners Rachel Robinson & Jenny West on That Karma Points Twist & Those Elimination Rumors
Image
The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras has crowned its winners, and it turns out that the karma points were indeed a deciding factor in the finale. While Jordan Wiseley won every single checkpoint for the guys and left no room for a vote-based adjustment on the guys’ side, the results were a bit narrower for the women. Ultimately, Jenny West‘s performance in the two-day final was enough to pull her to a victory, but thanks to Rachel Robinson‘s massive karma points advantage, she ended up leapfrogging would-be second-placer Michele Fitzgerald and tying Jenny for the win, which meant they got to split the pots for both first and second places and brought Eras I and IV to victory. For Jenny and Rachel, that shared victory is doubly sweet; not only did they each take home a nice chunk of change to their respective families, but they also...

‘The Challenge 40: Battle of Eras’ Crowns Multiple Winners After Powerful Karma Votes Change the Game
Image
Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers from “The End of An Era, Part 2,” the Jan. 8 finale of “The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras,” which aired on MTV.

For one “Challenge” competitor, “Karma’s a relaxing thought.” And for another, it’s the opposite.

The Season 40 finale of “Battle of the Eras” aired on Wednesday night, revealing that the karma votes — each player was able to give 1-5 points to each player before they were sent home — had much more power than some assumed.

After part one of the finale, it was no surprise that part two featured a lot more swimming… and a lot of Jordan Wiseley winning. In fact, Jordan won six individual challenges throughout the season, didn’t go into one elimination and won every single checkpoint during the final.

After staying up most of the night counting coins and singing, the group began day two with another swimming and rowing checkpoint,...

An episode upload issue gave some viewers early access to The Challenge: Battle of the Eras reunion, which revealed who won the show and provided other never-seen-before moments.

Part 2 of the Season 40 final airs on MTV on Wednesday, January 8. The eight competitors will battle for the win, and the reunion arrives a week or so later.

End of an Era Part 1 aired on MTV on January 1, and Jordan Wiseley became the instant leader, dominating most of the other finalists.

He left fellow competitors Johnny Bananas, Derek Chavez, and Kyland Young well behind him, leaving viewers little room to wonder who could win.

Meanwhile, the women’s side of things was less clear, as Rachel Robinson and Jenny West seemed to be performing well, but nobody was counting out Tori Deal or Michele Fitzgerald.

This report will contain spoilers, as several clips have leaked online discussing The Challenge 40 men’s and women’s winners.

The Challenge’s Zach Nichols slams Season 40’s Karma Vote during ‘most dominant’ performance in a final
Image
Zach Nichols slammed The Challenge: Battle of the Eras for its Karma Vote twist, suggesting it could show that the final is “rigged” if Jordan Wiseley loses.

The former Real World star and Battle of the Seasons winner believes viewers are getting to see one of the most dominant performances ever in a final from the multi-time winner.

As of this writing, MTV has aired the first part of the Season 40 final, with Jordan the clear frontrunner among the men, including Derek Chavez, Kyland Young, and seven-time winner Johnny Bananas.

Jordan had finished ahead of his castmates in multiple events, much of which was due to the amount of swimming involved and because he solved puzzles.

To get there, Jordan survived the entire season without facing a single elimination, while his castmate Bananas went in twice and won to keep his spot in the game.

Zach recently called Jordan’s...

The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Episode That Changed Tony Todd's Life
Image
Legendary genre actor Tony Todd passed away in 2024, leaving behind a legacy that includes the horror films "Candyman" and "Final Destination." His deep voice also earned him many voiceover villain roles in geek franchises: Zoom in season 2 of "The Flash", the Decepticon Dreadwing in "Transformers: Prime," Venom in Insomniac's "Spider-Man 2" video game, and many more.

Trekkies might recognize Todd too; he had a recurring role on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and then "Deep Space Nine" as Kurn, the Klingon brother of Worf (Michael Dorn). Kurn's last appearance was in "DS9" season 4, "Sons of Mogh," but Todd appeared in an even better episode earlier in that season. That would be "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" season 4, episode 2, "The Visitor," penned by the prolific "Trek" writer Michael Taylor.

"The Visitor" is set many decades (even further) in the future and stars Todd as an aged Jake Sisko (normally played as...

The Challenge’s Laurel Stucky says she’s ‘making a commitment’ to herself after Season 40 loss
Image
A new year always brings resolutions, and for The Challenge star Laurel Stucky, one involves focusing on herself.

She appeared in recent seasons of the competition series, as she appeared in her first-ever installment of the All Stars spinoff, and won it, then returned on MTV’s Battle of the Eras.

Unfortunately, it was a disappointing Season 40 for the multi-time winner, as she went home during a daily challenge purge.

However, she seemed to joke about how she wouldn’t exhaust herself under the current conditions.

In addition, she may not have been in ideal shape to compete with the other stars in the 40-member cast.

So what’s next for The Challenge star? Laurel recently told fans she’s “making a commitment” to herself in 2025.

The Challenge 40 final eight players, ranked from least to most likely to win
Image
Spoilers ahead from The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras recent episodes!

The first part of The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras season finale kicked off the new year and began what's among the most taxing final challenges we have ever seen from the show. The final eight players — four men and four women — took off on the Sinister and ran, swam, and puzzled nonstop in order to place as high as they could in their groups of four.

Jordan, Bananas, Derek, and Kyland are the final four men and Tori, Michele, Rachel, and Jenny are the final four women vying for their cut of the $1 million grand prize. The top man and top woman will each receive $400K, while the runners up will earn $75K and the third place takers will get $25K. Unfortunately, fourth place doesn't offer a cut of the prize money.

During the first half of the final challenge,...

The Challenge fans blast Season 40 final as a ‘joke’ and ‘one of the worst’ due to twist and format
Image
Fans of The Challenge expressed frustration with the Battle of the Eras final due to its format and a unique twist introduced earlier in the season.

The first part of the final officially began in the recently aired episode End of an Era Part 1, as the eight finalists started onboard the Sinister ship.

The finalists included former winners Johnny Bananas, Jordan Wiseley, Jenny West, Tori Deal, and Rachel Robinson, as well as first-time MTV finalists Kyland Young, Michele Fitzgerald, and Derek Chavez.

Host Tj Lavin introduced them to the various tasks they’d compete in, which included swimming back and forth from the ship to various locations to complete checkpoints.

After each checkpoint, Tj informed the competitors who finished first through fourth place for the men and women.

However, at the start of the final, Tj informed them that castmates had cast Karma votes throughout the season, which would determine who won.

The Challenge’s Kyland Young addresses Jenny West’s controversial Season 40 win in daily challenge
Jordan Wiseley
The Challenge: Battle of the Eras has been full of controversies surrounding some of the show’s daily challenges and eliminations.

Among them, a recently aired episode of Season 40 featured former winner Jenny West, who won a critical event since it was one of the last daily challenges before the final.

It kept her safe from going into elimination and allowed her to participate in the chamber where Jordan Wiseley would decide which woman to send into The Arena.

However, Jordan shared a screenshot after the episode aired, showing that Jenny’s puzzle wasn’t accurate.

Fans called out The Challenge production for the missed error, which cost other women that critical win.

Battle of the Eras star Kyland Young leaned towards defending production and his castmate following the episode.

The Challenge fans blast production for Johnny Bananas and Cara Maria Sorbello deleted scene
Image
The Challenge fans are upset that an unaired scene featuring castmates Johnny Bananas and Cara Maria Sorbello didn’t appear in The Challenge: Battle of the Eras.

Bananas and Cara may have been rivals toward the end of their seasons, but they still had some friendship and respect for each other as star competitors.

As they headed toward the final, Bananas’s allies were his Bananas Angels, which included Jenny West, Rachel Robinson, and Aviv Melmed.

Cara had her allies, including Derek Chavez, Michele Fitzgerald, and, surprisingly, Tori Deal.

Unfortunately, Cara got sent into the final elimination and lost to her new friend, Tori, ending her time competing in Season 40.

Before that happened, the cameras captured Cara and Bananas having a rare one-on-one conversation about competing in and winning a final.

When is the next episode of The Challenge Season 40? Christmas Day schedule as Tj’s final looms
T.J. Lavin
The Challenge Season 40, also known as Battle of the Eras, is nearing its final episode. Eight competitors will attempt to win significant money in host Tj Lavin’s final.

The finalists became official in Episode 17. The men were already determined, as Derek Chavez won the last men’s elimination to send Cory Wharton home. With that, Derek qualified for his first final on MTV.

Along with Derek, former champions Johnny Bananas and Jordan Wiseley are back in another final. Big Brother star Kyland Young officially reached his first-ever final.

The Wednesday, December 18 episode featured the last women’s elimination, with Tori Deal outlasting Cara Maria Sorbello in a treading water contest.

Tori became one of the four women’s finalists, along with Rachel Robinson, Jenny West, and first-time finalist Michele Fitzgerald.

Fans are eager to see how things play out in Tj Lavin’s final, which will include plenty of...

The Challenge’s Cara Maria Sorbello shares why she wouldn’t partner with Paulie Calafiore on a ‘pairs’ season
Cara Maria Sorbello in The Challenge (1998)
Cara Maria Sorbello is coming off her exciting return to The Challenge, with appearances in the All Stars 4 spin-off and MTV’s Battle For a New Champion and Battle of the Eras.

On All Stars 4, she feuded with her familiar rival, Laurel Stucky, and won several eliminations against top competitors to reach yet another final.

While she didn’t defeat Laurel in the final, she proved she’s still one of the show’s best competitors and joined the epic Season 40 cast.

Season 40 showed her impressive abilities, too, as Cara nearly became one of the eight finalists. However, former rival-turned-friend Tori Deal defeated her in a nighttime water elimination just before Tj Lavin’s final.

Cara is likely not done with the show just yet. She recently revealed who she would team up with if she returned for a “pairs” season.

The Challenge fans slam Season 40 for ‘absolute joke’ elimination between former winners
Image
Two of The Challenge’s all-time greats battled for the last spot in Tj Lavin’s final for Season 40, but fans were disappointed at the elimination event.

It came down to former show winners Cara Maria Sorbello and Tori Deal, who had surprisingly become closer than ever before as friends and allies in Battle of the Eras.

The daily challenge, Bricks Fortress, involved players carrying bricks out of a castle and retrieving wooden boards to assemble a puzzle.

The men’s and women’s players who got their puzzles right first would win the event and get to decide who went into elimination.

The man and woman who finished behind the rest of their opponents would lose. The women’s loser went straight to the last elimination.

It ended up being Tori Deal finishing last, so daily winner Jordan Wiseley couldn’t save her from going into the elimination.

Let the verbal warfare begin! The Challenge: All Stars 5 features the return of many iconic cast members who are not afraid to speak their minds.

Among them is Shane Landrum, who competed in seven seasons of The Challenge on MTV and the spin-off Champ vs. Stars 2.

He’s on the cast of All Stars Rivals, the fifth installment of the spin-off. For this season’s format, everyone’s partner is someone they didn’t always play nice with on the show.

Shane’s partner is Big Brother star Da’Vonne Rogers, who infamously feuded with Shane during The Challenge. Now they’ll try to co-exist to reach the final and win some prize money.

However, with the premiere episode yet to arrive, Shane called out another castmate, Devin Walker.

Based on a video the Road Rules star posted, Devin might be running his fan account online to make himself look like a bigger star.

The Challenge’s Jordan Wiseley calls out possible mistake with Season 40 daily challenge winner
Image
Jordan Wiseley seemingly spotted a mistake with one of his castmate’s puzzles during The Challenge: Battle of the Eras.

In the recently-aired Episode 17, viewers watched a frantic daily challenge, with everyone trying to win ahead of the upcoming final.

However, it was crucial for the women, as Cara Maria Sorbello, Jenny West, and Rachel Robinson were targets facing the last women’s elimination. Tori Deal and Michele Fitzgerald also wanted to perform well.

The first-place woman for the event was safe from elimination and got to choose who would go into elimination.

The last-place woman would automatically go into the elimination event at The Arena.

Their difficult daily challenge, Fortress Bricks, involved carrying a specific amount of cinder blocks out of a castle before retrieving long wooden boards, which were puzzle pieces.

The Challenge rumors: Season 40 episodes to go on hiatus as All Stars 5 special arrives

The Challenge: Battle of the Eras is approaching its grand finale, with the competitors getting closer to Tj Lavin’s final by the episode.

Former champions Johnny Bananas, Rachel Robinson, Jenny West, Tori Deal, Jordan Wiseley, and Cara Maria Sorbello are among those vying to win the season.

Michele Fitzgerald, Kyland Young, and Derek Chavez hope to reach their first final on MTV. Veteran Challenger Cory Wharton has been to the final but has never won The Challenge and hopes this will be his time to shine.

However, there will be a holiday break for new episodes of Season 40 before viewers get to see who claims that top prize.

Recent schedule details suggest viewers must wait several weeks after Episode 16 airs on MTV.

For at least part of the break, fans will get a special look at the next season of The Challenge: All Stars.

The Challenge’s Rachel Robinson slammed ‘hypocritical’ castmate Devin Walker for post-reunion remarks
Rachel Robinson
The Challenge: Battle of the Eras introduced the old school to the new school with its 40 cast members grouped into four teams of 10. The OGs of the show were part of Era 1.

That team included former show winners Rachel Robinson, Derrick Kosinski, Chris “Ct” Tamburello, Mark Long, and Darrell Taylor.

Meanwhile, Era 2 featured seven-time champion Johnny Bananas, while Era 3 featured Ride or Dies winner Devin Walker. Devin began a showmance with Era 4’s Michele Fitzgerald.

However, that showmance created conflict amongst castmates when Bananas warned Michele that Devin might try to use her as part of his game strategy.

Ultimately, some of Bananas’ allies in the game, including Rachel, became involved in his feud with Michele and Devin.

That included Rachel, who said she and Devin ended things on an amicable note at the Season 40 reunion until Devin turned around and made additional comments about her.

The Challenge’s Aviv Melmed reveals how her husband reacted to Bananas footsies scene in Season 40
Johnny 'Bananas' Devenanzio
While flirtations, hookups, and showmances arrived during The Challenge: Battle of the Era, former winner Aviv Melmed returned to the MTV show as a married woman.

She became aligned with several castmates, including Johnny Bananas, who has participated in a showmance or two during his time on the competition series.

Bananas seemed more focused on the game in his quest for an eighth championship in Season 40 than trying another showmance. He formed the Bananas Angels with Aviv, Jenny West, Laurel Stucky, and Rachel Robinson.

While he didn’t pursue any showmances or hookups, a surprising footsies scene arrived during an episode as Aviv and Bananas touched their bare feet together on the cast’s bus ride.

It provided ammunition for opponent Michele Fitzgerald to call out her castmates, prompting an argument between her and Bananas.

Following her aired exit from the show, Aviv spoke about what her husband thought of...

‘The Challenge’: Aviv Bruno Reveals How ‘Johnny’s Angels’ Actually Started & Where They Stand Now
Image
And then there were 10. On Wednesday’s (December 4) new The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras episode, “Thinking Thin Era,” the remaining 11 contestants had to do a little cave-diving for the daily challenge called “Tight Quarters.” While some contestants struggled to fit through the cramp cavern holes and bat away real-life bats, Aviv Bruno (nee Melmed) got completely lost after going through a barrier, earning her last place. Her fellow targets? Jenny West and Michele Fitzgerald… the latter of whom was all but guaranteed a bye thanks to her friendship with the daily winner Kyland Young. That meant Aviv and Jenny — both members of the “Johnny’s Angels” alliance alongside Johnny Bananas and Rachel Robinson — had to compete against each other to stay in the house. And unfortunately for Aviv, Jenny had a lot more luck throwing a heavy ball outside of the cage they were in and clenched the victory.
