It was not the best time for Hollywood star Will Smith despite winning an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Richard Williams in his 2021 film, King Richard. The celebration of his Oscar win was sidelined by his behavior as he slapped presenter Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards.

As Rock attempted to lighten the event with laughter, he made a joke directed at Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith while introducing the nominees for Best Documentary at the Oscars. Pinkett Smith rolled her eyes in response to the joke. Smith found it funny at first as he was seen laughing at the joke, but after seeing his wife’s response, the actor could not hold back and rushed to the stage and slapped Rock.

Will Smith and Chris Rock's heated exchange at the 2022 Academy Awards will go down in Oscars infamy. The annual show took a sharp turn on March 27, 2022, when Smith slapped Rock in the face after the comedian made a cruel joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, and her buzz cut. The "Red Table Talk" cohost has been candid about her hair loss and alopecia, so Smith took offense to his wife's medical condition being a punchline.
The shocking moment moved rather quickly during the Oscars, leaving many viewers with unanswered questions - mainly why Smith chose that moment to confront Rock. For those unaware of their previous encounters, Smith's actions may have seemed extreme. However, several of Smith's peers have defended him - including his "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" costar Janet Hubert. On March 27, 2022, Hubert shared a now-deleted Instagram post (via Entertainment Weekly) with a screenshot of Smith giving his acceptance speech captioned,...

Updated throughout: In a just posted video that is 5 minutes, 44 seconds long, Will Smith has broken his silence about the regrettable “slap heard around the world,” in which he struck Oscar presenter Chris Rock after he made fun of Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith. This before Smith was awarded Best Actor Oscar honors.
The apology was expected, and Smith has done it in the form of answering questions that were raised on the internet. While there was expectation Smith might choose a high profile TV interview for his apology with Oprah Winfrey on a late-night talk show, he instead chose to sit and calmly answer questions on social media.
The first was directed to Rock, the standup comic who made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s close cropped hair, perhaps not knowing she suffers from alopecia. Answering the question of why he didn’t apologize to Rock in his acceptance speech,...

Despite what some conspiracy theorists think, Chris Rock hitting the road for a comedy tour right after presenting at the 2022 Oscars was just a coincidence. There'll be no return to the Promised Land for fans of the Living Biblically TV show. CBS cancelled the sitcom on April 19th and pulled it from the air. Early last month, the network scheduled Living Biblically to return and "burn off" the remainder of the season one episodes, beginning May 28th. Last week, they then pushed the return off until June 4th, and the Living Biblically season one/TV series finale was expected to air on June 25th. Now, the network has slated NCIS: New Orleans reruns in Biblically's place, until Salvation assumes the timeslot on June 25th. A CBS sitcom, Living Biblically stars Jay R. Ferguson, Lindsey Kraft, Ian Gomez, David Krumholtz, Tony Rock, and Camryn Manheim. Based on the Aj Jacobs book, The Year of Living Biblically, the comedy centers on Chip Curry (Ferguson), a film critic...

CBS has announced that their cancelled TV show, Living Biblically, is returning to Monday nights -- at least for a little while. While there won't be a second season, fans of the comedy will get to see the remaining episodes. A fictional CBS sitcom inspired by a real-life venture, Living Biblically stars Jay R. Ferguson, Lindsey Kraft, Ian Gomez, David Krumholtz, Tony Rock, and Camryn Manheim. The sitcom centers on Chip Curry (Ferguson), a film critic for an NYC newspaper. After the death of his best friend, Chip decides to live a better life, through strict adherence to biblical precepts. Fortunately, he has the support of his good-humored allies: wife Leslie (Kraft); the "God Squad" (Gomez and Krumholtz); and his colleagues (Manheim and Rock). As he sets out on his journey, Chip wonders if the results will be of biblical proportions. The sitcom...

After CBS yesterday wrapped its round of early pickups of the series it considered no-brainers for renewal, it has started to shed the weakest of the rest. Monday comedy Living Biblically has been pulled from the schedule effective immediately. Starting next week, it will be replaced by repeats of The Big Bang Theory.
The move is not a surprise. Living Biblically is CBS’ least watched series this season and tied for last place in adults 18-49 (Live+same day). CBS earlier this season also pulled freshman Monday comedy Me, Myself & I off the schedule after several modestly rated airings. Neither is expected to return next season.
Through its eight airings to date, Living Biblically averaged 4.2 million viewers and a 0.65 18-49 rating (L+Sd).

Freshman CBS multi-cam comedy “Living Biblically” has been pulled of the network’s primetime schedule, Variety has confirmed.
“Big Bang Theory” repeats will air in the show’s Monday timeslot for the next two weeks. No return date has been set, though the show could return to burn off the remainder of its episodes at a later date. The move does not bode well for a potential second season. CBS has thus far renewed 17 of their current series, but none of their Monday comedies. “Kevin Can Wait,” “Man With a Plan,” and “Superior Donuts” are all awaiting words on potential third seasons. Fellow Monday series “Scorpion” is also currently in limbo.

The Kardashians are more rest stop than destination ... so says Tony Rock who says No One should be surprised Tristan Thompson cheated on Khloe. "Everybody cheats on the Kardashians," Tony told us outside the Laugh Factory ... "You just smash a couple times and you get out!" Guessing Tony's referring to past K-squad dudes like Lamar Odom and Scott Disick. Kim Kardashian famously told Jennifer Lawrence she was cheated on, too, but didn't call out the cheater by name.

Johnny Galecki and Patrick Walsh know they’re walking into a minefield by tackling religion on a network sitcom. “There are no shows like this on TV,” said Walsh, who serves as executive producer and showrunner of CBS’ new half-hour “Living Biblically.” “There’s no precedent for it. The shows that have dealt with religion are a ‘7th Heaven’ or a ‘Touched by an Angel,’ where they’re going for a very different audience. Those shows are very pious and preachy to an audience that isn’t religious. This show isn’t that at all.”
Added Galecki: “If there is an agenda that we have and some sort of message, it’s that trying to be a better person is a good thing.”
Galecki and Walsh stopped by IndieWire to discuss how they approached creating a comedy about religion — including bringing in religious groups to watch the tapings. “They were invested,...

No “Bull,” CBS wants you to know that the freshman Michael Weatherly series is actually the No. 1 new show of the year in total viewers, over NBC’s lauded “This Is Us.”
