Bright and early at 9:30 a.m. over at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, there was an Ugly Betty reunion with stars Ana Ortiz and Chris Gorham joining writers Brian Tannen, Gabrielle Stanton, Sheila Lawrence, Chris Black, Henry Myers, Cameron Litvack and Tracy Poust on the special picket.

Ugly Betty, based on the hit Spanish-language novela Betty La Fea, aired for four seasons from 2006 to 2010. America Ferrera portrayed the titular Betty Suarez, an unconventional beauty whose unique sense of style doesn’t preclude her from landing a gig at a top fashion magazine. HBO Max is reviving another classic series for its latest reboot project. "The Brothers Garcia," the hit Latinx sitcom that aired on Nickelodeon in the early 2000s, is being reimagined as a new series called "The Garcias."

The reboot aims to bolster US Latinx representation to create a "sense of normalcy" and dismantle stereotypes. "The Brothers Garcia" was considered groundbreaking for being the first English-language sitcom to have an all-Latinx cast and creative team. This time, 81 percent of the cast of "The Garcias" is Latinx, while the other 19 percent are Asian and Pacific Islander Americans (Apia).

In today’s TV news roundup, Epix revealed the premiere date and teaser trailer for the second season of “Godfather of Harlem,” and Netflix announced the premiere date of Jamie Foxx’s “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!”

Epix revealed that the second season of “Godfather of Harlem” will premiere on April 18. Set in 1964, the crime drama series explores the collision of the criminal underworld and civil rights movement. The second season will follow Bumpy Johnson (Forest Whitaker) battling the New York crime families for control of the French Connection, a pipeline for heroin that runs from Marseilles to New York Harbor. In addition to Whitaker as star and executive producer, the season will bring back Vincent D’Onofrio, Ilfenesh Hadera, Nigél Thatch, Giancarlo Esposito, Lucy Fry, Rafi Gavron and Antoinette Crowe-Legacy. Dad Stop Embarrassing Me is coming to Netflix. The streaming service has ordered the father-daughter comedy series which was being worked on in February, prior to the pandemic shutdown. The series will star Jamie Foxx and is based on the actor's real-life relationship with his daughter, Corinne. She is one of the producers of the multi-camera series.

In addition to Foxx, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me also stars Porscha Coleman and Jonathan Kite, with Heather Hemmens and Valente Rodriguez in recurring roles.

Netflix has given a formal series green light to Dad Stop Embarrassing Me, a father-daughter comedy starring and executive produced by Oscar winner Jamie Foxx. The series is inspired by Foxx’s relationship with his daughter, Corinne Foxx, who produces alongside Alex Avant.

The multi-camera series is inspired by Foxx’s relationship with his daughter, Corinne Foxx. The series will also star David Alan Grier, Kyla-Drew, Porscha Coleman, and Jonathan Kite. Heather Hemmens and Valente Rodriguez will appear in recurring roles.

Jacobson wrote, "Thank You All For Your Support With Happily Divorced. Unfortunately Tvland Has Decided Not To Pick Us Up. But Thank You Guys For Ur Love N Support!"

Based on the real-life marriage of Fran Drescher and Jacobson, Happily Divorced follows a Los Angeles florist (Drescher) whose husband comes out of the closet after 18-years of marriage. We recently reported that Happily Divorced and Retired at 35 would be kicking off their second seasons on March 7th, at 10pm and 10:30pm respectively. TV Land has already changed their plans.

Happily Divorced, which recently resumed production, will be back as previously announced but is moving to 10:30pm. Retired at 35 is being bumped until later this year. A timeframe hasn't been announced and no reason was given for the schedule change.

Starring Fran Drescher, John Michael Higgins, Tichina Arnold, Rita Moreno, Robert Walden and Valente Rodriguez, Happily Divorced was renewed for a second season of 12 episodes last July.

Retired at 35 -- which stars George Segal, Jessica Walter, Johnathan McClain, and Josh McDermitt -- was renewed last March and was given a 10 episode order. Marissa Jaret Winokur joins the cast in season two.

TV Land is kicking off another original series, and Happily Divorced fits in the same mold as its other successes. That is to say, it's a fairly screwy comedy that you'd expect to see coming out in the 80's. Fran Drescher is an L.A. florist who finds herself dating again after 18 years of marriage. Nothing that doesn't happen everyday, except that Fran isn't married anymore because her husband suddenly came out of the closet at her, and he still lives in the house.

The pilot solidifies itself pretty quickly, and establishes the idea that, at least for quite some time, the show will revolve around the curious husband/wife/new boyfriend triangle, with support coming from - Fran's parents Dori and Glen (Rita Moreno and Robert Walden), Fran's best friend Judi (Tichina Arnold), and her flower delivery employee (Valente Rodriguez).

Living large on the fairly amazing success of Hot in Cleveland, TV Land is not only bringing back its newest venture, Retired at 35, but has also given the go ahead to two more, brand new sitcoms. Thus far, there seems little doubt that the people at TV Land know how to get audiences, and as things continue to play out with the two sitcoms they have, it seems that there are plenty of people looking for a return to the glory days of sitcom, in more ways than one.

Given a solid fanbase of viewers tuning in for "old school" comedy fare, the channel apparently figured it could put together some fresh meat with perhaps more in common with those bygone classics than today's efforts, and the results have been surprisingly positive.

Maria Bello is seemingly always on the "actors in demand" list during pilot season, and this year is no different -- or maybe it is. Debra Messing is headed back to NBC to star in the drama pilot "Smash," about the cast and crew of a Broadway musical. The "Will & Grace" Emmy winner will play the show's lyricist. The pilot is based on an idea by Steven Spielberg, who's executive producing; Theresa Rebeck ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent") is writing it.

Last night, on TBS' Lopez Tonight, George Lopez reunited the cast of his old sitcom. George Lopez ran for six seasons on ABC before being cancelled in 2007.

Attending last night's reunion were Constance Marie (wife Angie), Belita Moreno (mother "Benny"), Valente Rodriguez (best buddy Ernie), Masiela Lusha (daughter Carmen), Luis Armand Garcia (son Max), and Aimee Garcia (niece Veronica).

Watching the reunion, it's easy to see that the actors truly like each other. At one point, Lopez was overcome with emotion for his TV clan when speaking about their time together while shooting the show. Lopez shared that he was very lonely growing up and didn't know how to feel like he was part of a family until the sitcom.

There was a small uproar when George Lopez and his sitcom left ABC in 2007. Lopez himself was very vocal about the cancellation and spoke out against the network decision. He felt that George Lopez was cancelled in part because it wasn't produced by ABC's in-house studio.

But, you can't keep a good comic down and Lopez has been having good luck hosting his own nightly talk show on TBS. The show's only been on for a few weeks and he's wasting no time in reuniting his old TV clan.
