- Born in Buenos Aires, Marcia Romano left Argentina with her family for France in the late 1970s. After studying film (Paris 8, la Fémis) and working on film shoots (Yolande Zauberman, Noémie Lvovsky), and in development for various production companies (Ima Films, Fidélité), she co-wrote her first screenplay in 1997 for the short film Les Vacances, directed by Emmanuelle Bercot. She went on to writing screenplays for various filmmakers including François Ozon, Emmanuel Bourdieu, Éric Rochant, Xavier Giannoli, Emmanuelle Bercot (with whom she reunited for Standing Tall), Radu Mihaileanu, Alice Winocour, Audrey Estrougo, Audrey Diwan and Édouard Baer. Audrey Estrougo's Suprêmes and Emmanuelle Bercot's Peaceful, two features she co-wrote, were presented at 2001's Cannes Film Festival.
