'Final Destination 7' Confirmed After 'Bloodlines' Success
Image
After a 14-year hiatus, the Final Destination franchise was brought back to life with this year's critically acclaimed Final Destination: Bloodlines. The recent and highly successful release of the franchise's sixth film has now paved the way for a confirmed seventh installment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Final Destination film series is officially expanding, and Warner Bros. and New Line are already in development on the next horror outing.

The upcoming seventh installment will be written by Lori Evans Taylor, who co-wrote Bloodlines; this is great news for fans, given the latter film's success. The feature will be produced by franchise creator Craig Perry alongside veteran Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts, Watts' wife Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich. Warren Zide will executive produce. While there's no word yet on who will direct, we're hoping that Bloodline directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein will return to the...

‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ Blu-ray Review
Image
Stars: Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Ted Briones, Richard Harmon, Brec Bassinger, Tony Todd, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, Gabrielle Rose | Written by Guy Busick, Lori Evans Taylor | Directed by Zach Lipovsky, Adam B. Stein

Co-directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, Final Destination: Bloodlines is the sixth film in the popular Death-moves-in-mysterious-ways horror franchise, following the fifth instalment, back in 2011. As such, the directing duo are clearly fans of the series, because they deliver everything audiences could conceivably want from a sixth (and probably not final) Final Destination movie, even managing to give the mythology a satisfying little tweak in the process.

The time-honoured opening sequence takes place in the 1950s, where young Iris (Stargirl’s Brec Bassinger) finds herself in a horrific disaster at the top of a newly opened high-rise restaurant. At the moment of her death, the film cuts to the present day, and it transpires that college...

Final Destination Bloodlines Had A Clever Easter Egg You May Have Missed
Image
The premise of the "Final Destination" movies is gloriously novel and relentlessly efficient. At the beginning of the six extant films, someone has a premonition of a horrible accident wherein multiple people die spectacularly. The psychic character then convinces people they are in danger, and they avoid the accident. Sadly, these psychic premonitions seem to be messing with Death's plans. Those people were destined to die in that accident, you see. The rest of each film is devoted to the characters all dying in fatal accidents, orchestrated by Death itself. The calamities are always colorful and elaborate, Rube Goldberg contraptions for thanatophiles. The avoided accident in the first movie is a plane crash, lending the series its name.

In the most recent chapter, 2025's "Final Destination Bloodlines," a woman has a psychic premonition of an elevated restaurant collapsing and killing hundreds of people ... in 1969. Because Death can't work quickly,...

New Complete ‘Final Destination’ Blu-Ray Collection Is To Die for
Image

Proving that the iconic horror franchise is way too far from reaching its final destination, the latest installment — directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein — has not only scored massive theatrical earnings but was also a favorite among audiences and critics. In fact, Bloodlines has accumulated a total of 92% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the highest-rated Final Destination movie on the review aggregator. But that’s not to say the previous five were not in a league of their own. Why One Final Destination Bloodlines Character Was Killed Despite The Family Twist Clarified By Directors
Image
Warning: This article contains spoilers for Final Destination Bloodlines.

One unexpected death in Final Destination Bloodlines has been explained by the directors. The horror sequel, which follows Death hunting down the descendants of the survivors of a disaster at a tower restaurant called Skyview, set up a potential death scene for Erik Campbell (Richard Harmon), only to reveal that he lived due to not being a blood relative of Skyview survivor Iris Campbell (Gabrielle Rose), because his mother had an affair. However, Erik is then given one of the bloodiest Final Destination Bloodlines deaths when a malfunctioning Mri machine gorily pulls a wheelchair through his torso.

During an interview with Polygon, Final Destination Bloodlines directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein shared their perspectives on Erik's death. They pointed to the line spoken by Tony Todd's character William Bludworth, which is that "when you f--k with Death, things get messy,...

How the Skyview from ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Found Its Sweet Spot in the ‘Silent Take’
Image
[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for ‘Final Destination Bloodlines.’]

The secret to directing the Skyview from “Final Destination Bloodlines” hides in plain sight. But for Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, striking the right tone was as much about the big picture horror as it was the funny little details. The pair met while making Steven Spielberg’s “On the Lot,” a reality competition show from 2007. Now, they’re on-track to deliver the highest-grossing chapter in a treasured 2000s franchise.

“What make the guys so successful is casting that wide net and seeing what they get,” said editor and frequent collaborator Sabrina Pitre. Fresh off another victory with Eli Craig’s “Clown in a Cornfield,” she’s already hard at work cutting Lipovsky and Stein’s next film, “Freaks 2.”

Pitre says the directors’ knack for truly valuing talent is what helped capture so many moments that make “Bloodlines” feel special. Warner Bros. and New Line’s triumphant sequel is a...

Ranking the Most Brutal Deaths in ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’
Image
Warning: The following contains major spoilers for Final Destination: Bloodlines.

Final Destination feels like an anomaly. Debuting in 2000, James Wong’s brutal shocker serves as a bridge between the teen slashers of the late ’90s and the gritty torture porn films that would dominate the genre in years to come. Spiraling into four inventive sequels, the franchise explores abject horror with increasingly gruesome variations on a well-loved and surprisingly simple formula. A young man or woman has a vision of imminent disaster and saves a handful of people meant to perish in the carnage, but once the dust of mass casualty settles, the survivors begin to die in unthinkable ways. It seems Death itself is targeting them, intent on cleaning up the loose ends of its master plan.

After lying dormant for fourteen years, directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein bring Death roaring back to the big screen with...

Image
Death is back, and audiences are lining up to see its latest masterpiece of mayhem. Well, folks, it looks like moviegoers just can’t get enough of watching characters meet their demise in spectacularly gruesome ways.

Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema’s Final Destination Bloodlines has absolutely crushed box office expectations this weekend! Not only did the sixth installment in this long-running horror franchise blow past industry projections, but it also managed to establish itself as the highest-grossing opener in the series’ entire 25-year history.

And get this – it accomplished all this after a 14-year absence from theaters. If there was ever any doubt about whether audiences still had an appetite for Death’s elaborate designs, this opening weekend certainly put those questions to rest.

Final Destination Bloodlines Ending: What Made The Makers Change The Original Plan For A Darker Finale?
Image
Final Destination Bloodlines Brutal Log Truck Scene ( Photo Credit – YouTube )

Final Destination: Bloodlines

didn’t hold back in its latest installment. The new release has been a wild ride built from the bones of its predecessors, bursting with clever nods to the films that came before. However, none land harder than the infamous log truck — yes, the same death machine that haunted viewers since the highway brutality of Final Destination 2.

In Bloodlines, the ending isn’t just a callback — it’s a looming presence, twisting its way through the film until it finally delivers a brutal farewell to Stefani and Charlie. That final scene is soaked in utter mayhem, marking the bloodiest wood-fueled sequence the franchise has delivered in years.

The Alternate Ending That Never Made It

Originally, though, things were going to end differently. Directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein toyed with a number of drafts before landing...

"You Can't Leave the Theater on That Note": 'Final Destination Bloodlines' Almost Had a Much Darker Ending [Exclusive]
Image
Editor's note: This article contains spoilers for Final Destination Bloodlines.

Final Destination Bloodlines is a movie overflowing with fun references to the titles that came before it, but none are more powerful than all those nods to the log truck that traumatized an entire generation. We see the log truck in different iterations throughout the film, until death finally comes to collect on Stefani (Kaitlyn Santa Juana) and Charlie (Teo Briones) in the final seconds. The scene gives us the bloodiest log-based sequence since that highway pile-up back in 2003’s Final Destination 2, but that wasn’t the original ending for the doomed siblings.

Ahead of the film’s theatrical release, Collider’s Perri Nemiroff sat down to chat with co-helmers Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein. When asked about any versions of the script in which the pair survived, Lipovsky admitted that he was unsure, adding, “We had a lot of different drafts.

'Final Destination Bloodlines' Directors Reveal If the Death Map Includes Past Franchise Victims [Exclusive]
Image
Editor's note: This article contains spoilers for Final Destination Bloodlines.

Every installment of the Final Destination franchise has been about connection. Not just the connection between the folks who cheat death, but the connection that death makes when it comes to collect. But Final Destination Bloodlines takes the idea of connection one step further, as it centers around an entire family that shouldn’t exist. Aside from the familial tie between the Campbells, audiences were speculating about another bond that might link Bloodlines to the five films that came before it — the wall of newspaper clippings.

Taking up quite a bit of space, the craft looks like something straight out of the Pepe Silvia episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, as it chronicles the eventual deaths of those who were meant to perish in the Skyview Restaurant collapse that never happened. The complex wall of names and gruesome deaths...

Box Office: ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Opens to Record-Shattering $51.7M in U.S., $105.8M Globally
Image
In a third consecutive win, Warner Bros. is doing scary great business at the box office thanks to New Line’s critically acclaimed Final Destination Bloodlines.

The supernatural horror-thriller pic topped the weekend with a franchise-best domestic opening of $51.7 million, ahead of expectations. Overseas, it earned $54.1 million for a global start of $105.8 million, up from Sunday’s estimate of $101.2 million, thanks to a strong Sunday. Either number was more than enough to successfully revive a long-dormant franchise that was first introduced to audiences a quarter of a century ago. The last installment, Final Destination 5, was released in 2011 and opened to $18 million, not adjusted for inflation. (On Saturday, the pic was only expected to do $46 million to $47 million.)

Embraced by critics and audiences, Bloodlines is directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky. The R-rated title stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana as a young woman who discovers that her grandmother was able...

"Every Death Was Different": 'Final Destination Bloodlines' Co-Directors Reveal the Kills That Never Were [Exclusive]
Image
Editor's note: This article contains spoilers from Final Destination Bloodlines.

From kitchens to log trucks, the Final Destinationfranchise is a masterclass in turning everyday things into agents of chaos and omens of death. The freshly released Final Destination Bloodlines uses objects like a soccer ball, a fire extinguisher, and gardening tools to do some brutal damage to the unsuspecting family at the center of the story. But not all of their deaths panned out the same from the first to the final draft. Collider’s Perri Nemiroff recently sat down with the movie’s co-directors, Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, to pick their brains about the set-ups, the fakeouts, and the carnage that unfolds in the sixth installment in the film series, and the pair didn’t hold back.

Eager to share exactly how much had changed from day one to filming, Stein said, “Every death was different.” Breaking down some of the major differences,...

Did Final Destination Bloodlines Just Retcon The Whole Franchise? Skyview Survivors Theory Addressed By Directors
Image
Warning: This article contains spoilers for Final Destination Bloodlines.Exclusive: Final Destination Bloodlines directors address the Skyview survivor theory, which links Death's victims in the previous films to being the descendants of the Skyview survivors. Following Stefanie's (Kaitlyn Santa Juana) attempt to save her family from Death's sinister plans, the sixth installment, which arrived in theaters on May 16, reveals a massive map of Death's past victims, consisting of countless Skyview survivors and their descendants, who were saved by Stefanie's grandmother, Iris (Brec Bassinger/Gabrielle Rose).

In an interview with Screen Rant, directors Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky share their thoughts on the Skyview survivor theory. While Stein admits that they have "discussed and debated a lot" about the idea, they actually "didn't go quite that far" because one of the rules in the sixth installment established that the previous generation would be targeted first, which means including the theory would easily break canon.

‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ at the Oscars? 4 genre-friendly categories where the critically hailed horror flick could compete
Image
Final Destination Bloodlines, the sixth installment in the beloved supernatural horror series, opens Friday in theaters. Fans loved the first five Final Destination movies, but they've all been met with a log to the face at the Academy Awards. After this week's glowing critics' reviews, Bloodlines could find itself competitive in four Oscar categories next year ... if voters aren't too afraid.

Kaitlyn Santa Juana stars as Stefani Reyes, a present-day college student inexplicably haunted by a tower collapse from 1968. Teo Briones plays Charlie Reyes, Stefani's younger brother, while Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, and Anna Lore play their cousins. Rya Kihlstedt portrays Stefani and Charlie's estranged mother, Darlene Campbell, and the dual role of Grandma Iris was given to Gabrielle Rose (the older version) and Brec Bassinger (the younger version). Horror icon Tony Todd, who died in 2024, returns one last time as fan-fave character William Bludworth, a mortician who...

Box Office: ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Makes $5.5 Million in Previews
Image
Horror’s most ingenious death traps have returned to the big screen as “Final Destination Bloodlines” opens in theaters this weekend.

The R-rated Warner Bros. and New Line horror has made $5.5 million in Thursday previews at the box office. The film is expected to make between $35 million to $45 million in its debut, which would be the franchise’s highest opening weekend ever. It’s on track to add $35 million internationally for a global start of $70 million to $80 million. Costing roughly $50 million to produce, the film should be another bloody good return for Warner Bros. after it had huge success with “Sinners” and “A Minecraft Movie” last month.

“The Final Destination,” the fourth entry released in 2009, currently holds the franchise’s record for highest opening with $28.3 million, followed by “Final Destination 3” with $19.1 million and “Final Destination 5” with $18.4 million.

“Bloodlines,” the sixth “Final Destination” entry, should beat Marvel’s “Thunderbolts,...

‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Review: Glorious Gorefest Is 100% Pure Cinema
Image
Watching a “Final Destination” movie is like watching a Looney Tune where the anvils keep dropping, but all the characters can die. These are sick, twisted comedies about the futility of mortality and the loosey-goosiness of internal organs. The only reason they’re funny is because at their best — which is most of the time — they have perfect comic timing. They may be grim films that revel in death and misery, but they’re also some of the most enjoyable cinematic spectacles ever made.

“Final Destination Bloodlines” is no exception. The franchise may have taken a 14-year hiatus, but it hasn’t lost a step. If anything, “Bloodlines” may be a new high point for the series. Like always, it’s about a group of people who were supposed to die but slipped through death’s fingers. And, like always, death is pretty pissed off about that and will stop...

“It’s a Really Straight Line”: ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Star Explains Why the Movie’s Genetic Connection Mattered [Exclusive]
Image
This weekend, the battle between life and death continues in Final Destination Bloodlines. The sixth installment in the long-running film series has been a long time coming, so audiences are expecting something truly Earth-shattering to hail from the Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein co-helmed film. And shattering they shall receive, with first reactions praising the title as the best one yet. With a script by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor that spawned from a story penned by the duo and Jon Watts, the movie mixes dark comedy with death’s design and an underlying theme of the bonds and blood that connects families.

It was the latter part that moved the creative team to make a last-minute decision and shift the fulcrum of the film from a father to a mother. In the movie, Iris (Gabrielle Rose), a grandmother, tells her family that she outwitted death many years ago...

Final Destination: Bloodlines Family Tree - Every Main Campbell Relative
Image
Final Destination: Bloodlines raises the stakes even more by targeting a family to become part of Death's sinister design. The sixth installment of the Final Destination franchise revolves around the story of the Campbell family as Stefani Reyes (Kaitlyn Santa Juana) starts to have visions of a horrible disaster from 1969 tied to her grandmother, Iris (Gabrielle Rose).

Marketing for the horror movie has already revealed that a younger Iris (played by Stargirl alum Brec Bassinger) was the first to see a premonition and prevent a disaster that ultimately saved many lives. After many years, Death has set its sights on the Campbells to achieve its grand sinister design.

Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, Final Destination: Bloodlines features a cast led by Brec Bassinger, Richard Harmon, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Gabrielle Rose, Owen Joyner, Anna Lore, Alex Zahara, Rya Kihlstedt, and the late Tony Todd. Critics have...

A movie is only as strong as its original soundtrack, so one could consider Final Destination: Bloodlines to be a bodybuilder. Film Review: 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' is the Same Old Song
Image
Chicago – As the first “Final Destination” movie in 14 years, “Final Destination: Bloodlines” knows what audiences came to see. It’s the sort of legacy sequel that is clearly preaching to the choir, where a wind chime and the familiar score sets the audience up for a CGI splatter fest … plotting and character development aren’t its strong suits.

The film begins with the customary early premonition. It’s the late 1960’s and a boyfriend and girlfriend are heading to the opening of a Space Needle-type skyview restaurant, which is proclaimed to be an engineering marvel that’s opened ahead of schedule. Like clockwork though it all falls to pieces on that Opening Night.

The real protagonist is college student Stefani (Kaitlyn Santa Juana) who has been troubled by a nightmare about a grandmother she’s never met, who was at that skyview tower she’s been haunted by. So she...

Final Destination Producer Reveals Why He Thinks the Franchise "Will Go On Forever" [Exclusive]
Image
It’s been said that the only two things certain in life are death and taxes. And, while there isn’t a movie franchise centered around the horrors of taxes (although there very well could be), Final Destination is death’s gift that just keeps on giving. In the last 25 years, the film series has produced six movies, with the latest, Final Destination: Bloodlines, finally making its way into cinemas this week. When you bank on death as your staying power in the industry, you strike up quite the deal with a partner who will always make good on their end. Now that the franchise is back after a 14-year hiatus, will there be more installments to come? We know that box office numbers and reviews play a big part in the answer to that question, but aside from that, do the folks behind Final Destination see it continuing until — well,...

‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Review: A Silly But Satisfyingly Homicidal Series Of Unfortunate Events
Image
If the defining tone of the most successful “Final Destination” films can be boiled down to “unsettling, but silly,” Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein’s “Final Destination Bloodlines” maintains that balance as well as any installment before it.

Fourteen years after “Final Destination 5” supposedly brought the horror franchise full circle, Lipovsky and Stein skillfully expand its scope to accommodate an interconnected universe where Death steadily attempts to reclaim victims across multiple generations. While a canonically satisfying sendoff to the late Tony Todd’s William Bludworth bolsters the series’ morbid gravitas, a cast of playful, mostly likable 20-somethings keep proceedings light in juxtaposition to the filmmakers’ fiendishly inventive kills.

After awaking from recurrent visions in which her grandmother Iris dies during the opening of a 1960s Space Needle-type landmark, Stefani Reyes (Kaitlyn Santa Juana) leaves college to address the relentless insomnia that’s wrecking her stellar academic career. Stefani’s...

Review: Final Destination Bloodlines Reinvigorates Death’s Designs
Image
Aren’t horror franchises supposed to get worse with each entry? Nah. We’re in a golden window for later-stage prequels and sequels. Indies like V/H/S/Beyond (7th entry) to backtracks like The First Omen are healing the stigma of a Jason Goes to Hell or Texas Chainsaw 3D. Here to offer its axe as the latest example for an inspiring trend is Final Destination Bloodlines, bringing Final Destination back to prominence with a bloody entertaining sequel fourteen years later.

Freaks (and Kim Possible) directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein take a risk on their lore-spanning continuation of Death’s favorite franchise. The Final Destination movies have relied on the cyclical motions of inescapable fates as illustrated by gruesome, Rube Goldbergian death sequences. Bloodlines’ screenplay, written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, is still that, but in a way that addresses every film. A tome is introduced,...

‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Review: Franchise Refresh Continues Fun, Creative Deaths And Adds A Familial Twist
Image
You know how this is going to go. Someone has a premonition of a ghastly, freakish chain of events that results in mass casualty, a vision of such tactility that it feels realer than real — and then they come to, mere moments before the real thing begins. Yet, after saving several lives, the survivors begin to die anyway, one by one: also in ghastly fashion, also in freakish, Rube Goldberg machine-like sequences. Death doesn’t like it when you cheat.

It’s an ingenious recipe James Wong introduced with co-writers Glen Morgan and Jeffrey Reddick in 2000, and with each subsequent sequel, there hasn’t been a ton of variation on the theme. Just more and more inventive ways to kill off a character. Final Destination Bloodlines offers everything fans of the franchise have come to expect: a bawdy mix of slapstick humor and gruesome, kinetically charged deaths. But directors Zach Lipovsky...

Final Destination: Bloodlines Review: Silly, Bloody Rollercoaster Ride Delivers Franchise Highs
Image
As legacy horror franchises attempt to worm their way back into the public imagination with largely unsatisfying reboot-sequel hybrids, bringing characters old and new together, alarm bells should have been ringing at the prospect of a new Final Destination. With the exception of the second movie, where Ali Larter’s protagonist returned to co-lead and gave a crash course on how to cheat death, continuity has been restricted to Tony Todd cameos, the franchise’s overarching premise so easily adaptable that it didn’t exactly need to exist in a shared universe. Of course it did––the twist ending to the fifth installment, which revealed we’d been watching a stealth prequel to the first all along, was the biggest reminder––but more so than any other slasher, here was a long-running series where any entry could successfully function as its own standalone beast. The idea of transforming the series...

‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Review: A Franchise About Death Roars Back to Life
Image
“What it’s about is making things surprising, but inevitable,” the late Stephen Sondheim told D.T. Max in a 2022 profile for The New Yorker. “That’s the great principle of all art that takes place in time.” For a quarter-century, the Final Destination series has operationalized and weaponized the spirit of this dictum to terrify audiences around the inevitability of death. Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein’s Bloodlines, its sixth entry and first in 14 years, finds frights and fun alike in a string of gory kills.

Paradoxically, the film unlocks new vitality within the franchise by largely adhering to a proven formula. Any given Final Destination film plays out like an inverted Mission: Impossible, where a loose plot connects centerpiece sequences of characters narrowly avoiding death. While the peril is similar, a small detail flips the result. Here, the Grim Reaper always wins.

There’s an odd comfort...

‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ Mother's Day Prank Gives Moms the Thrill They’ve Been Looking For
Image
Over the weekend, mothers and mother figures were celebrated with chocolates, flowers, and cards. But in one movie theater, they may have been more inclined to cut ties with their loved ones rather than pull them into an embrace. As part of the final promo push for Final Destination: Bloodlines, the film hosted a screening event that saw folks turn up with the mothers in their lives to see a newly released rom-com. The twist? Once the lights went down and the film began to roll, what they watched instead was a first look at the latest installment in the beloved horror franchise. Showing off their devilish handiwork, the marketing team put together a reel showcasing the mothers before, during, and after the film. While some were less than pleased with what they were forced to witness, many came out rejuvenated with a love for horror and had nothing but...

‘Grace’ – Revisiting the Overlooked Maternal Horror Movie
Image
There are many things to expect when expecting, but a blood-craving baby isn’t one of them. Nevertheless, 2009’s Grace imagines that possibility, and the outcome is unsettling.

If his main goal was to deliver a constant flow of unease, then filmmaker Paul Solet succeeded with flying colors. Grace waits for no one to settle in before commencing with its long parade of discomforts. First flies swarm that vague and abstract preview of what turns out to be the film’s ending, then after zeroing in on a pair of blood-spattered bare feet, we jump to a scene of aloof lovemaking.

Jordan Ladd’s Madeline remains quiet, apathetic and supine as Michael, played by Steven Park, fulfills his half of this marital ritual. It’s only when Madeline is subsequently shown with her legs up and over her chest, post coitus, does it become clear that she and Michael are trying to conceive.

Final Destination Bloodlines Clip Teases Legacy Character's Final Franchise Appearance
Image
A brand-new clip from Final Destination Bloodlines has finally dropped, featuring horror legend Tony Todd in his final appearance as William Bludworth. This comes less than a year after the Candyman actor passed away at the age of 69.

The video, shared by the IGN YouTube channel, provides Final Destination fans with a sneak peek of the meeting between mortician William Bludworth and the latest targets of Death's curse. Just like the previous installments, Bludworth gives them the set of rules they need to follow to survive Death's brutal traps. These include killing someone in order to steal the remaining years of their lives, or by dying in order to break the cycle.

Todd's character was first introduced in the 2000 Devon Sawa-led Final Destination, where he explained the strange phenomenon plaguing the survivors of a plane crash. Since then, Bludworth has been a staple throughout the franchise. Final Destination...

Final Destination Bloodlines Brought Someone Out of Retirement to Break a Fiery Movie Record
Image
A world record was set during the production of Final Destination Bloodlines. Directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein recently shared how the opening scene of the horror sequel broke the record for the oldest person shown on fire.

"We lit so many different people on fire, including breaking the world record for oldest person on fire with Yvette Ferguson, who did that full body burn in the silver dress," Lipovsky revealed to Entertainment Weekly. "That was the oldest person ever on fire, on camera." Ferguson, a 71-year-old stunt performer and actor, came out of retirement to play Mrs. Fuller in the scene. While Bloodlines' stunt team has reached out to Guinness World Records to officially submit the extreme stunt for recognition, they have not yet heard back from the organization. Check out EW's first-look images of the fiery stunt below.

Freak Accidents Appear Out of Nowhere in New 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' Images
Image
Final Destination fans, a new slew of images has been revealed, and they are the stuff of our nightmares. In times when everything old has enough nostalgic value to turn it into a sequel or prequel, the new chapter in the franchise, Final Destination:Bloodline, stands tall with its predecessor in terms of shock value and freak accidents.

The new images give us a peek at all things gore that filmmakers (and death) have in store. In one image, Owen Patrick Joyne is crawling on the ground in what seems an attempt to save his life. Another set of images expands on the party gone wrong sequence we saw in the trailer: one image sees a person on fire, another sees Brec Bassingerlooking at us while her background is clearly set on fire. Another very gory image sees flesh peeling off of someone’s ring finger. By the look of it,...

'Tracker' Season 2 Episode 13: Who Is Deputy Director Bartholomew?
Image
Every episode of Tracker introduces a new missing persons case from a different location in the U.S. for survivalist Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) to tackle. The one case that has loomed over his head for decades, however, is that of the death of his father. Throughout the series, namely the first season, bits and pieces about Ashton’s (Lee Tergesen) mysterious death have come together.

In Season 2, Episode 13, titled “Neptune,” a new character is sort of introduced that might not completely disappear now that this case is done. In fact, some suspect, or at least hope that he might be a missing link to bring everything about Ashton Shaw to light.

'Tracker' Season 2, Episode 13 Dives Into Government Spy Territory

In one of his most dangerous cases yet, Colter takes on the case of a man named Logan (Oliver Rice), who is offering a reward for his missing wife,...

We finally know when the next Final Destination movie will be released
Image
Final Destination: Bloodlines finally has a release date! Warner Bros. has dated the film for May 16, 2025, after years of back-and-forth during the development process. By the time the sixth film in the franchise is released in theaters, it will have been 14 years since we last saw a Final Destination movie.

The last film in the series, Final Destination 5, was released in August 2011. Final Destination 5 was better received than the fourth entry, with some people feeling it was one of the best in the franchise. Plans for a sixth film were made shortly after, but things hit a development snag amid the Covid-19 pandemic. After that, it seemed like Warner Bros. wasn't entirely sure what to do with the franchise. At one point, it was going to be distributed by its Max streaming service.

But everything is finally back on track, and the popular New Line Cinema film series...

‘The Adjuster’ Is a Psychosexual Baptism by Fire [Maple Syrup Massacre]
Image
Maple Syrup Massacre is an editorial series where Joe Lipsett dissects the themes, conventions and contributions of new and classic Canadian horror films. Spoilers follow…

It would be disingenuous to suggest that Atom Egoyan’s The Adjuster is a horror film.

Psychological thriller is more apt descriptor, though audiences seeking scary set pieces will walk away unsatisfied. Despite this, The Adjuster has a narrative of thriller tropes, including a large number of psychosexual relationships, characters adopting dual roles (or simply role playing) and an ending that encourages audiences to re-evaluate what they have seen.

Egoyan is one of Canada’s most significant contemporary directors, though internationally his work is known principally in art cinema and film festival circles. In the 90s, Egoyan was a symbol of national pride; he, along with David Cronenberg, was essentially the face of English-language Canadian film. His most famous film is the Sarah Polley-starring The Sweet Hereafter,...

How The Stand Updates Randall Flagg’s New Vegas
Alexander Skarsgård in The Stand (2020)
This article contains spoilers for episode 5 of The Stand.

In “Fear and Loathing in New Vegas,” the fifth entry in CBS All Access’ nine-part adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand, we get to spend a significant amount of time in Las Vegas, where the demonic Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgard) has established his sinister kingdom.

There are other important plot developments in the course of the episode, such as the aftermath of Teddy Weizak’s (Eion Bailey) murder at the hands of Harold (Owen Teague) and Nadine (Amber Heard) — which they made to look like a suicide — as they construct their destructive plans; Frannie’s (Odessa Young) growing suspicions about Harold and her own plan to do something about it; and the abrupt departure of Mother Abigail (Whoopi Goldberg) as she seeks guidance from God.

But a good amount of time is spent in Flagg’s new version of Sin City,...
