Harry Potter HBO TV Series Cast Guide: See The New Faces Of Hogwarts & Beyond
Image
As book adaptations go, the "Harry Potter" movies are fairly unimpeachable. They stick as closely to the story as seems possible -- Alfonso Cuaron played with structure a little bit for "The Prisoner of Azkaban," but not in any way that betrays the novels -- they feature many of the greatest British actors of their day, and most seem perfectly cast in the roles assigned. The theme tune is also arguably John Williams' last absolute banger of a timeless classic. So why remake them as a TV series?

There are several possible answers to that question. One is so that all the subplots that had to be cut for time when adapting to two-hour-plus movies can now be dramatized. Another is that Warner Bros. wants to keep monetizing the "Harry Potter" IP for nostalgia, and the "Fantastic Beasts" prequel trilogy just wasn't doing it. Yet another is that the franchise's one surefire potential money-maker,...

‘Night Terror’ VOD Review
Image
Stars: Whitney Peak, S. Epatha Merkerson, Finn Bennett, Golda Rosheuvel, Ben Bladon, Laken Giles | Written by Michael Tully, Elisa Victoria | Directed by Colin Tilley

Night Terror, also released under the title Eye for an Eye, is a visually polished but narratively predictable horror film from director Colin Tilley. At first glance, it appears to be another standard studio-backed thriller… teen protagonists, a traumatic backstory, a spooky locale, and a local legend that turns out to be terrifyingly real. Yet, buried beneath its familiar genre framework is a genuinely creepy and well-executed antagonist: the Sandman, a spectral figure who avenges the wronged and bullied.

The film centres on a young woman who relocates from New York to a remote part of Florida to live with her blind grandmother after the sudden death of her parents. The change in scenery brings with it not just emotional upheaval, but supernatural danger. Soon after settling in,...

Lady Danbury Could Be Pulling Strings Behind Queen Charlotte’s Back

Sleep at Your Peril as ‘Night Terror’ Comes to Digital
Image
Grieving teenager Anna’s escape to her grandmother’s Florida home becomes a descent into horror in the new trailer for Night Terror, which arrives on digital platforms on 14 July from Signature Entertainment. After her parents’ sudden death, Anna leaves New York in search of solace, only to find herself drawn into a malicious supernatural force born from guilt and violence.

Isolated and longing for connection, Anna befriends two local teens whose boredom leads to a brutal prank. Their act of cruelty triggers the wrath of Mr Sandman, the restless spirit of a child who preys upon schoolyard bullies. By night, he invades dreams; by dawn, he devours his victims’ eyes. To save herself, Anna must confront the unforgivable deed that summoned this entity and break the curse before she too becomes a ghastly feast.

The trailer for Night Terror hones in on the film’s potent mix of psychological dread and visceral horror.

Eye for an Eye Review: Florida Gothic Done Right
Image
Tragedy sends teen Anna from Brooklyn into the humid, heavy air of a small Florida town. Her new home is with her grandmother, May, a woman who navigates the old house from memory, having been blind for decades. The isolation is immediate and palpable.

The bayou itself, with its hanging branches and thick stillness, seems to hold secrets. A sense of place is a difficult thing for a film to earn, but here, the Southern Gothic atmosphere is not just window dressing; it is an active presence.

Anna’s grief makes her an outsider, a ghost in her own new life, drifting through a community where local folklore feels less like history and more like a waiting threat. The air is thick with things unsaid, both in the family home and in the town itself.

The Rules of Retribution

The town’s threatening folklore has a name: Mr. Sandman. This...

Jonathan Bailey's Bridgerton Season 4 Update Seemingly Confirms One Major Show Change From Benedict's Book
Image
Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey has potentially confirmed the show's upcoming season will include a major relationship milestone that was missing from Benedict's original story. Second son Benedict's (Luke Thompson) world is about to be turned upside down, as he falls in love with a Cinderella-like mystery woman, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), at his mother's masquerade ball. As ever, though, Bridgerton season 4 will feature the various members of the Bridgerton family, including Bailey's Viscount, Anthony Bridgerton, and his wife, Kate, the Viscountess (Simone Ashley).

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bailey confirmed that he was happy to return to Bridgerton for as long as they'll have him, a welcome piece of news considering Daphne Bridgerton's (Phoebe Dynevor) absence from the show in season 3. Bailey explained that he felt a "real sense of brotherly pride" while working on the show and accidentally let slip that he had...

This Bridgerton Scene Exposed Benedict’s True Loyalties, And It Wasn’t to His Family
Image
Benedict Bridgerton and the modiste Genevieve Delacroix shared a dalliance of sorts — one that His Lordship never quite saw fit to properly conclude. Oh, what a grievous oversight for the show!

While the heart of Season 1 beat loudly for Daphne’s scandalous dance with the Duke, the rest of the Bridgerton brood were embroiled in their own tangled webs of affection and desire. Take Anthony, for instance: hopelessly enamored with Siena Rosso, yet tragically unable to claim her heart. But he was hardly alone in the affairs of the flesh.

Benedict, too, was no stranger to a more casual arrangement, and whispers around the Ton hinted at loyalties that stretched far beyond the ballroom…perhaps even beyond the bounds of propriety.

‘Bridgerton’ Renewed for Seasons 5 and 6, Season 4 Coming to Netflix in 2026
Image
“Bridgerton” will continue its reign at Netflix with an additional two-season greenlight.

The Regency era romance series has been renewed for Seasons 5 and 6 at Netflix, the streamer announced Wednesday during its upfront presentation in New York City. Netflix also announced that Season 4 will debut in 2026, but did not specify any specific release window beyond that.

“Bridgerton” Season 3 debuted in two parts in May and June 2024, respectively, while Season 2 premiered in March 2022 and Season 1 debuted in December 2020, so a spring or summer release for Season 4 looks likely. Filming for “Bridgerton” Season 4 kicked off in September 2024, just months after Season 3 dropped on Netflix, at Shepperton Studios in London.

Netflix similarly granted a two-season renewal for “Bridgerton” in 2021, bringing the series up through Season 4.

While the shocking conclusion of Season 3 led to fan speculation regarding which Bridgerton sibling could lead Season 4, Netflix announced the fourth installment will focus on Benedict (Luke Thompson), as...

And with the new two-season order, Netflix has formally picked up at least six out of the planned eight seasons for the Shonda Rhimes-produced Regency-era romance.

The announcements were made out of Netflix’s upfront presentation to advertisers, where it revealed new footage from “Bridgerton” Season 4, which shows season leads Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha as Benedict Bridgerton and love interest Sophie Baek, respectively. Bridgerton’s Most Heartbreaking Scene Was Between Two Siblings in Season 1, and It’s Not Anthony and Daphne
Image
Bridgerton’s best siblings? Eloise and Benedict, without a doubt. While Bridgerton has graced us with scandal, swoons, and steamy ballroom glances, its most quietly exquisite treasure lies in the rare and tender camaraderie between these two kindred souls. Amidst all the courting cards and societal pageantry, Eloise and Benedict share something far more precious—a mutual rebellion in lace gloves and paint-stained sleeves.

Siblings who truly understand one another are as rare as a scandal-free soirée, yet Bridgerton has gifted us a pairing where connection runs deeper than tea and titles. Their bond is rooted not just in love, but in a shared disillusionment with the roles society has pre-written for them. The Viscount’s artist brother and the sharp-tongued debutante who detests debuting—both would rather chase meaning than marriage, freedom over formality.

They are the writer and the painter. The dreamers. The ones who long for more,...

Every Queen Charlotte’s ‘Bridgerton’ Scene Screams One Thing: Golda Rosheuvel Is Too Good For This Script
Image
Netflix’s beloved period drama, Bridgerton, depicts Queen Charlotte’s character as so much more than just a monarch: she’s a spectacle in all its grandiose glory. Played with decadent finesse by Golda Rosheuvel, she prances through the ton with hair big enough to be mistaken for an architectural marvel. These over-the-top hairdos aren’t just a product of vanity, they’re practically armor for a woman so desperately clinging to relevance.

Tucked behind tailored silk gowns and jewels lie insecurities that push her to project authority over social order like a Broadway director with the tiniest of egos. More than anything, her power is simply performative, as her obsession with appearances overpowers any scope of real governance. While she may look like an art piece at times, her fragile ego often proves more flimsy than her wig pins.

Queen Charlotte’s hair in Bridgerton got progressively grander and...

’Bridgerton’s Queen Charlotte Prefers Corsets and Croissants Over Challenging White Supremacy
Image
Dearest gentle reader, Netflix gave Bridgerton’s Queen Charlotte her own spinoff, but don’t expect her to burn down systems, she’s far too busy perfecting her corset game and nibbling on pastries. While the show tiptoes around race and power, Charlotte’s character often feels more fashion-forward than revolutionary.

Sure, she rules with flair and side-eye, but when it comes to challenging white supremacy or shaking the monarchy’s dusty foundations? Let’s just say her tiara stays firmly in place. Lavish, witty, and dripping in pastels, Queen Charlotte serves style over substance and some fans are wondering if that’s a royal misstep or just Regency escapism.

Queen Charlotte may slay in sapphires and silk, but when it comes to tackling white supremacy, she’d rather lace a corset and nibble a croissant.

Nicola Coughlan, Luke Newton, and every ‘Bridgerton’ Emmy acting submission — What about Jonathan Bailey?
Image
Netflix will submit nine cast members from Bridgerton Season 3 for Emmy consideration, Gold Derby has learned.

Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Bridgerton (née Featherington) will submit in Best Drama Actress, while Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton will compete in Best Drama Actor. It would be the first Emmy nominations for both performers. Coughlan is coming off her first individual bid at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, where the entire ensemble was also recognized.

In the featured categories, Daniel Francis as Marcus Anderson, Martins Inhangbe as Will Mondrich, and Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton have been entered in Best Drama Supporting Actor, while Adjoa Andoh as Lady Agatha Danbury, Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton, and Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte have been submitted in Best Drama Supporting Actress.

So, what about Jonathan Bailey? As his Lord Anthony Bridgerton was the main character in Bridgerton Season 2, Bailey understandably campaigned in Best Drama Actor last time.
