The actor, who played Sandy Cohen in the hit teen drama, recently opened up to The Independent about the negative impact of fame and how he always found himself looking out for Mischa Barton, who played Marissa Cooper on the show centered on wealthy teens living in Newport Beach, California.

“I’ve always felt very protective of her,” Gallagher said. “First fame is toxic. First fame can kill you. She was 16 years old when she started working with us, so just the fact that she’s still alive, I’m just so grateful.”

"Candyman" began its life in 1985 as a short story called "The Forbidden," originally published in Clive Barker's "Books of Blood, Vol. 5" (called "In the Flesh" in the United States). "The Forbidden" was set in Barker's hometown of Liverpool, specifically at a run-down building called the Spector Street estate, where a grad student named Helen went to photograph images of graffiti and poverty. While there, she encountered a mysterious monster the Candyman, a creature she assumed was merely an urban myth. The Candyman is covered in bees and sports a hook for a hand. Its origins are unknown. 

In 1992, filmmaker Bernard Rose adapted "The Forbidden" into the feature film "Candyman," one of the more celebrated horror films of its decade. Helen was played by Virginia Madsen, and the mysterious Candyman was played by a menacing Tony Todd. Rose transposed the location from Liverpool to the Cabrini-Green housing projects in Chicago.

Can it really be 20 years since “The O.C.” premiered on Fox? The young actors of the series, Benjamin McKenzie, Adam Brody, Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson quickly became in-demand stars and the theme song “California” by Phantom Planet became a top ten hit in several countries while also reaching 35 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart.

Throughout the series, the Coopers were a central part of many storylines and experienced several significant family traumas, such as bankruptcy, divorce and death.

At a fan event in Charleston, South Carolina, the actors met up and honoured their older characters’ relationships.

As reboots, remakes and reimaginings continue to dominate Hollywood, “The O.C.,” one of the most popular teen dramas of all time, would certainly be ripe for a revival. But nearly two decades after the pop culture phenomenon premiered, star Adam Brody says bringing back the show wouldn’t be a good idea.

“I kind of don’t think it can be done because socially we’re in a different place and we’re in a more conscious place,” Brody said Tuesday on the podcast “Welcome to the Oc, Bitches,” hosted by his former co-stars Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke. “While ‘The O.C.’ claims to be — in a similar sense as a ‘Gossip Girl’ — while it would sort of say it’s a critique, it’s not. Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke are the latest celebrities to launch a rewatch podcast of their popular television show. Their podcast aptly titled Welcome To The Oc, Bitches has aired 12 episodes so far, each with a celebrity guest that either appeared on the show or wrote, produced or directed it.

Bilson and Clarke played main characters on the hit teen drama, alongside stars like Ben McKenzie, Adam Brody, and Mischa Barton. They have already interviewed fellow cast members like Peter Gallagher, Kelly Rowan and Chris Carmack. With four seasons of The O.C to cover, there are plenty of other cast members that were either regulars or recurring on the show that would be fascinating to hear from according to fans.

The sun may have set on The Oc almost 15 years ago, but there's been a thirst for more ever since the series went off the air after four seasons.

Now, two of the stars are speaking out about a potential return to the show.

As previously reported, Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke are spearheading a podcast titled "Welcome to The Oc, Bitches," and have revealed they are open to the idea of returning to their roles in a revival.

The pair recently interviewed one another for Entertainment Tonight to promote the podcast, and it was a delight.

"I know we talked about definitely getting together personally, as a reunion ... all of us getting together," Bilson said.

"I think we have spoken to some already, everyone's on board for that."

Summer Roberts and Julie Cooper are back in Orange County as Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke will revisit the popular Fox teen Drama for Welcome To The Oc, Bitches!, a podcast from Kast Media.

Kast media partenred with The O.C. actresses to launch the podcast, where they will break down an episode of the teen drama every week. Set to release on April 27, Welcome To The Oc, Bitches! will consist of more than 100 episodes and feature a variety of guests – from former cast members like Peter Gallagher, to series creator Josh Schwartz, to sociologists who will explain how the Fox drama’s lasting impact.

Fox entertainment boss Michael Thorn told Deadline that the youth-skewing, sun-soaked soap “will not happen”.

“The O.C. will not happen despite my deep passion for it to come back. No one is available, unfortunately. I would be lying if I said ‘I didn’t ask’ every June,” he added.

The drama, which was created by Gossip Girl’s Josh Schwartz, ran for four season on Fox between 2003 and 2007. My memories of The Gate come from first seeing the video cover at the rental store and immediately wanting to see it. To my young eyes, it was just a must see. Bill Paxton, longtime actor and star of such hits as Apollo 13, Twister, HBO’s Big Love and most recently, CBS’ TV adaptation of Training Day died unexpectedly on Feb. 25, Et has learned. He was 61.

A source tells Et that Paxton had a heart condition and was getting surgery at the time of his death. He was in good spirits. “It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery,” a representative for the family said in a statement.
