For a good number of writers in Hollywood, this WGA strike is not their first one. TheWrap spoke with four writer-producers who marched on the picket lines back in 2007 and who have created and written for some of the most popular shows of the past quarter-century, and they say that they’re more concerned for future writers than themselves.

“I was also involved in the 1988 strike, and my biggest memory from that was a rally in Century City, and there was an elderly man in a wheelchair who was a writer on ‘The Lucy Show,'” said Marta Kauffman, co-creator of “Friends” and “Grace and Frankie.”

“Someone said to him, ‘Curious why you’re here. You’re not writing, you’re retired. Why are you here?’ He said, ‘I’m here for the younger writers,...

Will We Get Season 3 Of Sex/Life On Netflix?
Image
For two seasons now, housewife Billie (Sarah Shahi) has been slowly losing the life she once knew in favor of chasing the high of her sexually adventurous youth. In Netflix's "Sex/Life," Billie finds herself torn between her reliable husband Cooper (Mike Vogel), and Brad (Adam Demos), the hunky Australian ex who wanders back into her life. Later, when the romantic house of cards she's built tumbles down completely, she ends up hooked on a new man, restaurant owner Majid (Darius Homayoun). "Sex/Life" definitely isn't Netflix's best show, but plenty of fans still like the "Sex and The City"-style series because it's a reliably steamy adult-oriented romance.

Apparently, though, Billie's wild ride has come to an end. Variety is reporting that the Stacy Rukeyser-created show "Sex/Life" has been canceled after just two seasons. Luckily, though, the show actually wrapped up most of its major plotlines in its latest season finale.

Sex/Life canceled at Netflix after two seasons
Image
Netflix has canceled Sex/Life after two seasons. The news isn’t all that surprising as series star Sarah Shahi recently signed on to star in ABC’s legal drama Judgement.

Inspired by B.B. Easton’s 44 Chapters About 4 Men, Sex/Life starred Sarah Shahi as Billie Connelly who, “exhausted from taking care of her two kids and feeling nostalgic for the free-spirited life she lived in New York with her best friend Sasha (Margaret Odette) before marrying loving and reliable Cooper (Mike Vogel), starts journaling and fantasizing about her exploits with an ex (Adam Demos).” While the first season of Sex/Life had 232.70 million hours of viewing time over a nearly four-week period, the second season only had 126.8 million hours in a similar time frame. That’s a drop of about 45%, so you can understand why Netflix canceled Sex/Life.

It's time to say goodbye to Netflix's "Sex/Life," because the show is officially ending after two seasons. A Netflix spokesperson confirmed the news to Popsugar on April 7, though no further details about the show's cancellation have emerged.

The news comes shortly after the show's star, Sarah Shahi, got candid about her feelings about "Sex/Life" season two, revealing she was bothered by some changes made after the first installment. "I definitely did not have the support that I did in the first season from the people involved in the show," she shared in an April 4 episode of the "Not Skinny but Not Fat" podcast, saying the shift was rooted in the creators and the script.

"It became a much different thing for me - and I'm not afraid to say that," she said, adding that she had trouble with some of the new material. "[There were] more moments that felt very gimmicky,...

Netflix Cancels ‘Sex/Life’ After Two Seasons — and Just After Its Star Criticized the Show
Image
Netflix’s “Sex/Life” has been taken off life support. The erotic drama series will not return for a third season at the streamer, a Netflix spokesperson confirmed to IndieWire.

The news comes just over a month after the second season of the show debuted on March 2. The show, created by Stacy Rukeyser, premiered its first season in June 2021. A spokesperson for Netflix told IndieWire that the service is proud of the cast and crew’s work on the show, and that the second and now final season brought the show’s storyline to a natural ending.

Loosely inspired by the novel “44 Chapters About 4 Men” by Bb Easton, “Sex/Life” starred Sarah Shahi as Billie Connelly, a housewife and mother of two in the suburbs of Connecticut. ‘Sex/Life’ Canceled at Netflix After Two Seasons
Image
Netflix has canceled its drama series Sex/Life after two seasons.

The decision comes five weeks after the show’s second season (consisting of six episodes, down from eight in season one) debuted — and three weeks after star Sarah Shahi signed on to star in Judgement, a legal drama in contention for next season at ABC.

Season two brought an ending of sorts to the story as Shahi’s Billie reunited with her ex, Brad (Adam Demos), and got married on a beach. Showrunner Stacy Rukeyser, however, told The Hollywood Reporter that she didn’t view the last episode as the end of the series.

“The episode was never intended to be a series finale, that’s for sure,” Rukeyser told THR a week after season two premiered. “I know there are always more stories to tell with these characters in the Sex/Life universe, and I hope we get the chance to tell those stories.

Sarah Shahi got candid about Sex/Life’s second season on Netflix and how it was more challenging for her than the first one was.

In an appearance on the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast, the Black Adam star said she didn’t want to put the show down but that she struggled with the material and the people involved in the show.

“I definitely did not have the support that I did the first season,” Shahi said. “It became a much different thing for me, and I’m not afraid to say that. I struggled with the material.… I mean, I’m never going to work for Netflix again now after saying all this. I just can’t lie.”

Despite her struggles on the show’s sophomore run that debuted last month, the actress explained that a lot of the show’s themes — second chances, romance, divorce, co-parenting — still really resonated with her.

One of the most surprising hits of 2021 on Netflix is returning next month.

The official trailer for Sex/Life Season 2 is here, and it looks like Billie will have a new love interest in mind.

The trailer also seemingly confirms that it's all over between Billie and Cooper.

"I'm not [upset], I'm just done," Cooper says.

Things aren't much better with Brad, either.

"I came to you six months ago with a ring," he tells her, adding the following:

"You said no, and now it's too late."

As for the new man in Billie's life, Majid (played by Darius Homayoun), he looks like a lot of fun.

The first season featured plenty of steamy twists that got the fans talking -- and streaming.

Will the show be able to live up to its moniker again for the second time?

We'll need to tune in when the series returns, but if the trailer is any indication,...

Talk about silver linings!

Netflix confirmed Thursday that all episodes of Sex/Life Season 2 are set to premiere on March 2.

"Sex/Life is the story of a love triangle between a woman, her husband, and her past that takes a provocative new look at female identity and desire," Netflix's logline for Season 2 revealed.

Sex/Life Just Got Even Hotter Thanks to These New Cast Members
Mike Vogel, Sarah Shahi, and Adam Demos in Sex/Life (2021)
We didn't think it was possible but Sex/Life is getting even hotter. The soapy Netflix series lit up our TV screens during the coronavirus pandemic, giving viewers a drama-filled and much-needed escape from reality. It even caught the attention of Kim Kardashian, who was left speechless by the steamy sex scenes. "You guys have to watch Sex Life on Netflix!" she wrote on Instagram. "Omg."  And while Netflix teased viewers by waiting nearly three months to order a second season, they knew they had to give the people what they wanted. In September, they announced the show will have new episodes, with creator and showrunner Stacy Rukeyser saying in a statement,...

Ok, There's No Way There Won't Be a Season 2 of Sex/Life, Right? Here's What We Know
Image
Just when we didn't think Netflix could get any steamier than Bridgerton, the streaming platform went and dropped the first season of Sex/Life, and damn, have our lives changed for the better. Thanks to those tantalizing sex scenes and episode three, minute 20 (Iykyk), Sex/Life has left viewers weak in the knees in anticipation of a second season. So what's the sitch? Netflix has yet to give Sex/Life the green light for another season, but based on fans' reactions to the series thus far, we think the likelihood of seeing more of Brad Simon's (Adam Demos) chiseled body is pretty high.

It's not uncommon for Netflix to hold off on commenting on a show's renewal status, especially for a series in its freshmen season. It could be a few months until we get official word from the streaming platform, but Sex/Life's lead Sarah Shahi is optimistic: "We've been in...

What Sex/Life's Sarah Shahi Has to Say About Season One's Jaw-Dropping Ending
Sarah Shahi
There's a reason Sex/Life has become summer's most talked about show. No, we aren't talking about that headline-making shower scene, rather, the season one finale stunned viewers as it ended with housewife Billie (Sarah Shahi) betraying husband Cooper (Mike Vogel) by beginning an affair with bad-boy ex-boyfriend Brad (Adam Demos). In fact, even the show's leading lady was blown away by the unexpected conclusion. "I have to say Stacy Rukeyser and her writers are such an incredible group," Sarah exclusively told E! News. "My jaw was to the ground pretty much at the end of every episode. But, I definitely didn't expect for it to go there because, you know, you keep...

How Sex/Life's Stars Reacted to That Shower Scene
Mike Vogel, Sarah Shahi, and Adam Demos in Sex/Life (2021)
While the internet may be in a tizzy over one jaw-dropping scene from Sex/Life, it was just another day at the office for the show's stars. In an exclusive chat with E! News, Sex/Life star Mike Vogel revealed what it was really like filming the show's more risqué moments, including his headline-making shower scene with co-star Adam Demos. According to Mike, Sex/Life showrunner Stacy Rukeyser warned the stars that this was "going to be a real watercooler type of moment." And, boy, was she right. For those who've yet to tune in, episode three features Mike's character Cooper as he follows his wife's ex-boyfriend Brad (played by Adam) around town. During this stalking...

After 20 years of film and television work, Sarah Shahi returns to the small screen in her most “risqué” project yet — Netflix’s Sex/Life. Created by Stacy Rukeyser, Sex/Life is told through a woman’s perspective in more ways than one as each episode is helmed by a woman director. Sex/Life Shower Debate Solved After Netflix Nude Scene Goes Viral
Image
Was it a stand-in? A prosthetic? Netflix's latest series Sex/Life recently featured Australian actor Adam Demos revealing all of himself while in the, now much-publicized, shower scene, leaving viewers flabbergasted and speculating. They all want to get the skinny. Is it real?

Now Australian media personality Em Rusciano has shared 'proof' that the size of the actor's manhood needed neither stand-in nor CGI She took to Instagram to post private DMs she had received from people who grew up in Adam's hometown, who seem to confirm that his size is real.

"Hey Em, I grew up in the same town as Adam Demos (a year below me at school) and I can guarantee you there were no special effects," one person messaged. "He is a big boy!!"

A second follower sent a similar message, sharing, "My family grew up in Dapto with Adam Demos. My sister asked his bestie...

Here's the Deal With Adam Demos and *That* Sex/Life Shower Scene
Image
Should we have expected that there would be full-frontal nudity on a Netflix show called Sex/Life? Yes, but that didn't stop our jaws from dropping when Adam Demos appeared on full display as Brad Simon during episode three, "Empire State of Mind." It seems that Cooper Connelly (Mike Vogel) wasn't the only one shocked at the size of Brad's penis, as fans immediately began to wonder whether or not it was Demos during the scene. Well, it looks like we have an answer thanks to an interview in Collider with showrunner Stacy Rukeyser. "No. That's not a body double. I mean, people usually ask 'is it real or is it a prosthetic,'" she told the outlet. "And I can tell you what Adam Demos says about it which is, 'a gentleman never tells.' So, we are leaving that up to the viewer's imagination."

If you're wondering what Demos...
