Chris McCarthy, who was co-ceo of Paramount Global and president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment and is leaving after more than 20 years, says his “greatest achievement” at the company was his work around mental health.

McCarthy revealed last month that he wouldn’t be remaining with the company after Skydance takes control beginning Thursday.

The popular animated series American Dad! is making its way back to its original home, Fox, for the upcoming Season 22. The return comes after the show had aired on TBS for a little over a decade.

The animated series' future was likely to include its own feature film. However, ahead of its return to Fox next year, the animated series received a four-season renewal. Speaking with ComicBook, co-creator and executive producer Matt Weitzman gave a disappointing update about the movie, highlighting that they want to focus on the series until then.

The exit of McCarthy, a 22-year veteran of Paramount Global and predecessor Viacom, will become official once Skydance announces the post-merger leadership of the combined company with David Ellison as CEO. It will trigger the change-of-control provision in Paramount co-CEOs’ contracts’ as they will be effectively demoted from CEO if offered a different role. Friday’s Lip Sync Smackdown for the Crown marked the highest-rated finale in three years for the Paramount+ reality competition show. The episode saw an 11% increase in total viewers vs. last year’s Season 9 finale, TheWrap can exclusively reveal.

Plus, the new Tournament of All Stars format also gave “All Stars” Season 10 an overall 15% increase in viewership across 12 episodes vs. last season, according to internal data.

The 40-year-old drag queen was just crowned the winner on Friday (July 19) after winning the Lip Sync Smackdown for the Crown. She won a $200,000 prize, along with a one year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, and a crown and scepter.

“Since we first met her, Ginger Minj has been the epitome of Drag Race excellence. And now she has the crown to prove it! For a season filled with twists and turns, the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 was surprisingly… unsurprising.

Sure, I was moderately gagged to see Kerri Colby strut into the Werk Room as the official wild-card pick, but only because it felt like the stage had been set for the dramatic return of Mistress Isabelle Brooks. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a total KerBear, but bringing Mistress back would have infused this finale with some much-needed drama.

First, the good news about this year’s Emmy nominees: Queer, Black, Asian and Latino performers made history. The less good news: Overall representation is down for people of color, especially for folks of Asian and indigenous descent.

It was just revealed on Tuesday (June 24) that the Nickelodeon series, The Tiny Chef Show, has been canceled after two seasons on the network.

As a social media sensation before getting a TV show, the cancelation news was announced with a video shared to the show’s official Instagram page, and it has gone viral for how sad it is.

Jinkx Monsoon will take over the role of Mary Todd Lincoln in Broadway’s smash hit comedy Oh, Mary! for an eight-week engagement beginning in August, producers announced.

Also today, producers announced that the show’s Broadway run has been extended, with tickets now on sale through January 4. (Tickets previously had been on sale through September 24.)

Monsoon’s turn in the bratty curl ringlet wig follows an encore six-week engagement by Tituss Burgess, who had played Mrs. Lincoln earlier this spring when the role’s originator Cole Escola took a temporary break. Escola, the play’s writer, just won a Tony Award for their performance as the president’s desperate wife.

Escola’s final performance is on June 21. Co-stars Conrad Ricamora, James Scully, Bianca Leigh and Tony Macht will remain with the show through August 2.

Jamie Babbit marked her feature directorial debut with the project that stars Natasha Lyonne as Megan, a high school cheerleader sent to conversion-therapy camp when her loved ones suspect that she’s a lesbian.

The filmmaker hatched the idea after reading an article about gay rehabilitation centers and recruited Brian Wayne Peterson to write the script. Babbit cast Clea Duvall (who starred in her short film Sleeping Beauties) as Megan’s love interest. Rosario Dawson was among those considered for the lead, but the part went to Lyonne, who led 1998’s Slums of Beverly Hills and asked about Cheerleader after seeing the script in friend Duvall’s car.
