Tom Holland: The Actor Opened Up About Lip Sync Battle
Image
In 2017, MCU starTom Holland performed a forever iconic lip sync to Rihanna's "Umbrella" in a battle against his now-fiancé Zendaya, and now, he's opening up about it. Lip Sync Battle was a reality competition show that first aired on Paramount Network (formerly Spike) on April 2, 2015. The show ran for 5 seasons from 2015 to 2019.

Lip Sync Battle's concept involved two different celebrities competing against each other every week, who would have to prepare two lip-sync performances, and then the audience would decide the winner. In addition to Holland, many other notable celebrities who have appeared on the show include Channing Tatum, Kathy Bates, Kaley Cuoco, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, and more.

While a guest on Gordon Ramsay's talk show Scrambled, Holland opened up about his 2017 performance in Lip Sync Battle in drag, and how wearing fishnets was his idea. During Ramsay's show, Holland admitted that he loved showcasing his...

Paramount’s Chris McCarthy Talks Up Taylor Sheridan, Jon Stewart & ‘South Park’ In Exit Memo But Says Mental Health Work Was His “Greatest Achievement”
Image
Chris McCarthy, who was co-ceo of Paramount Global and president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment and is leaving after more than 20 years, says his “greatest achievement” at the company was his work around mental health.

McCarthy revealed last month that he wouldn’t be remaining with the company after Skydance takes control beginning Thursday.

“Our greatest achievement goes beyond entertainment,” he wrote in a memo to staff today, seen by Deadline.

He said that the company has “literally helped change how an entire industry tells stories about mental health and in doing so will help generations of audiences to come.”

“When the alarming rise of mental health issues became a crisis, we didn’t just sit back, we leaned in. We spearheaded an industry-wide Mental Health Coalition and, together, we’ve driven a nearly 40% increase in mental health storylines which help to normalize mental health and showcase characters coping with issues,...

Image
Look out world, it's monsoon season (again!)! Jinkx Monsoon is the new Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh, Mary on Broadway! The RuPaul's Drag Race icon takes over the role today, August 4, just weeks after her final performance in Pirates! the Penzance Musical. "Authenticity is about letting the you on the inside out. So many things tell us to hide that person, but when you actually let that person out, incredible things start happening," Jinkx told BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge. "I feel like that's true for Cole [Escola] in creating this show, and it's true for me getting to step into this role. We. said what we wanted to do and then we did it. American Dad! Gets Disappointing Movie Update After Multi-Season Renewal
Image
The popular animated series American Dad! is making its way back to its original home, Fox, for the upcoming Season 22. The return comes after the show had aired on TBS for a little over a decade.

The animated series' future was likely to include its own feature film. However, ahead of its return to Fox next year, the animated series received a four-season renewal. Speaking with ComicBook, co-creator and executive producer Matt Weitzman gave a disappointing update about the movie, highlighting that they want to focus on the series until then.

"We got picked up for four more seasons," Weitzman responded to the possibility of a new American Dad! movie. "That gives us another 56 episodes to make. Maybe when it’s all said and done, there will be an American Dad! movie." He continued, I would be happy to announce and to make happen... at this stage, I think we...

‘Project Runway’ Turns 21: Why Heidi Klum Came Back (and Made It Work Without Tim Gunn)
Image
[This story contains minor spoilers from the Project Runway season 21 premiere.]

Being the host of Project Runway is technically a job, but Heidi Klum doesn’t consider it work.

“It’s not even work for me. It’s not, really. It’s a pleasure,” the supermodel and sprawling reality TV host tells The Hollywood Reporter when asked what it’s like to be back on the series alongside some new and old faces. Among those are longtime judge Nina Garcia, new addition Law Roach and the designer’s mentor and season four winner Christian Siriano.

A discrepancy between season 21 and its recent predecessors mark the return of Klum to the hosting chair. By now, Project Runway fans know the timeline of the show’s shifts in the past few years: Klum and Tim Gunn exited the series together after season 16, Karlie Kloss and Siriano stepped in to fill their shoes for season 17, Kloss departed by season 18 and...

One of 'Star Trek's Biggest Stars Is Joining Season 22 of This Long-Running American Staple
Image
Chris Pine, widely known for his role as Captain Kirk in Star Trek, is boldly going where few live-action stars have gone before: into the animated chaos of American Dad! The show is now 20 years old, set to return for its 22nd installment soon, and it’s bringing in a high-wattage roster of guest stars, and Pine leads the pack. His involvement marks a major crossover of sci-fi royalty into one of Fox’s most enduring animated comedies, as American Dad! returns to its original network after a decade-long detour on TBS.

The announcement comes after the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 26, 2025, as reported by Variety. Plus, American Dad!’s return to Fox, despite no longer getting to swear on-screen, seems like a calculated move, backed by a major four-season renewal that signals the network’s long-term investment in the series. ‘American Dad’ Producers on No Longer Getting to Swear as They Return to Fox; Upcoming Guest Stars Include RuPaul, Chris Pine
Image
With “American Dad!” returning to Fox — and broadcast television — the show’s producers admit they’re going to have to adjust to those broadcast standards. “The only thing that we’re gonna have to get used to is no longer being able to say ‘shit’ and ‘God damn it,'” executive producer Matt Weitzman told the audience at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday. “But you know what? We don’t have to find creative ways to be entertained.”

The show, entering its Season 20, recently received a whopping four-season order at Fox, alongside four-season renewals for “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” and “Bob’s Burgers” — all shows fomr 20th TV Animation. Fox originally launched the show in 2005, but after it canceled the show, TBS picked it up in 2014. After TBS opted not to renew it, Fox opted to take it back.

“I’m just super excited to be able...

‘Celebrity Deathmatch’ Creator Floats Reboot Idea, Potential Matches: “Such A Fertile Environment”
Image
As Y2K nostalgia continues to dominate elements of Hollywood, one pop culture sensation of the era could make a comeback.

Following “a few false starts” over the years, Celebrity Deathmatch creator Eric Fogel recently discussed the possibility of rebooting his claymation series that originally ran on MTV from 1998 to 2002.

“That’s the beauty of the show — it’s timeless. These matches are iconic,” he told People. “You could literally open Google and type a few words, and you’ll get a whole bunch of new Celebrity Deathmatch ideas. It’s an evergreen concept.

“I was just browsing this morning. Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel hate each other. You know, Will Smith and Chris Rock probably still hate each other? Taylor Swift and Kanye West is still a match I’d like to visit in the ring. It feels like there are still some unresolved issues there.”

Fogel continued, “It’s such a fertile,...

Paramount Co-CEO Chris McCarthy To Depart Upon Completion Of Skydance Acquisition As Deal Gets FCC Approval
Image
Chris McCarthy, co-ceo of Paramount Global and president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, is expected to depart the company once its acquisition by Skydance is completed early next month. The exit of McCarthy, a 22-year veteran of Paramount Global and predecessor Viacom, will become official once Skydance announces the post-merger leadership of the combined company with David Ellison as CEO. It will trigger the change-of-control provision in Paramount co-CEOs’ contracts’ as they will be effectively demoted from CEO if offered a different role. The news comes on the heels of the FCC approving the merger Thursday.

Since April 2024, McCarthy has served as Co-CEO of Paramount Global alongside George Cheeks (President of CBS) and Brian Robbins (President of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon). Of the three, Cheeks is expected to stay on after the merger, with Robbins also poised to exit.

The trio steered the company through tumultuous times as approval for the...

‘Let the monsters eat themselves’: ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ winner Ginger Minj spills the tea on her online haters and what the scepter really tastes like
Image
After Ginger Minj won RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 10, she couldn't stop herself from biting into her sparkly new scepter. Unfortunately, it didn't taste as good as it looked. "To be completely honest with you, it's like when you chew on tinfoil, you get those little zings through your teeth," she tells Gold Derby. "I also accidentally bit one of the rhinestones, so I was picking little glass shards out of my teeth for like an hour."

Winning the competition still "hasn't really set in yet," explains the 39-year-old comedy queen from Orlando. "The viewing party was Friday night, and then the weekend was such a blur. I woke up this morning after finally sleeping, and looked over at the crown and scepter, and I was like, 'Oh, holy sh--, I won.' It feels so good, but it also feels so weird, because it's like, well, what's next?...

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Finale: Did the Right Queen Win Season 10?
Image
For a season filled with twists and turns, the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 was surprisingly… unsurprising.

Sure, I was moderately gagged to see Kerri Colby strut into the Werk Room as the official wild-card pick, but only because it felt like the stage had been set for the dramatic return of Mistress Isabelle Brooks. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a total KerBear, but bringing Mistress back would have infused this finale with some much-needed drama.

Emmys Diversity Report 2025: LGBTQ and Black Performers Thrive, but Overall Poc Representation Is Down
Image
First, the good news about this year’s Emmy nominees: Queer, Black, Asian and Latino performers made history. The less good news: Overall representation is down for people of color, especially for folks of Asian and indigenous descent.

Of the 92 total performers nominated in the acting categories, 24 of them are people of color, a dip from 2024, when Asian, Latino and Black actors made significant strides, with 30 nominees.

This year, members of the LGBTQ community did well across all categories. Bella Ramsey picked up their second Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for HBO’s “The Last of Us,” becoming the only nonbinary performer to be twice nominated for acting Emmys. This bit of history builds on Ramsey’s own milestone from 2023, when they became the first openly nonbinary actor to be nominated in a lead acting category.

Queer actors were particularly well represented in the supporting actor in a comedy series category,...

Image
Mother has arrived, again! After earning their 10th consecutive nomination for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Show, RuPaul has made history with the most nominations ever in the category. The RuPaul's Drag Race host surpasses previous titleholders Heidi Klum for Project Runway and Tom Bergeron for Dancing With the Stars.

As irony would have it, Kish is set to compete on the fourth season of Cumming's show, set to air early next year.

RuPaul's latest record follows another major milestone, as they previously won the category for eight consecutive years. The drag superstar's streak stalled last year after Cumming won for The Traitors. Additionally, RuPaul...

Throughout the years that reality TV shows and hosts have been recognized by the Emmys, competition show hosts have been vying for a coveted nomination. With the 2025 Emmy nominations now available, it's been revealed that one reality TV host has been able to successfully make history as the most nominated host in reality TV history. RuPaul, iconic host of RuPaul's Drag Race, has been nominated for her tenth consecutive nomination, making history in the Emmy category. With stiff competition, Ru's still likely to crush the category.

Image
Exclusive: Josh Segarra has joined the cast of Fox’s medical comedy Best Medicine, starring opposite Josh Charles and Abigail Spencer. The series, based on the popular British series Doc Martin, will go into production this summer in upstate New York.

Best Medicine is a one-hour comedy series that centers on Martin Best (Charles), a brilliant surgeon who abruptly leaves his illustrious career in Boston to become the general practitioner in a quaint East Coast fishing village where he spent summers as a child. Unfortunately, Martin’s blunt and borderline rude bedside manner rubs the quirky, needy locals the wrong way, especially local school teacher Louisa Glasson (Spencer); however, tenacity is the creed of everyone in their small village, and the people who live there may be exactly what the doctor ordered.

Although Martin can expertly address any medical ailment or mystery in this idiosyncratic town, he...

Image
After becoming a surprise hit at the 2023 winter box office, fueled by a flaming hot TikTok dance meme, to the tune of $180 million worldwide off a $12M budget, there was no question that Blumhouse and Atomic Monster had to make a sequel to M3GAN.

The psycho-doll movie was back, and this time she was a girl. She even argued with Chucky on social media which excited young females. At a time in the post-pandemic box office, particularly during a post-Christmas when most of the country was in a deep-freeze, M3GAN seduced.

But this time around, moviegoers had no interest in making a playdate with the doll as Blumhouse’s release M3GAN 2.0 via Universal posted a horrible opening of $10.2M ($17M worldwide) this weekend, -66% off from the original’s $30.4M U.S./Canada opening.

When M3GAN 2.0 hit tracking three weeks ago on Nrg, a then-future was...

‘Awards Magnet’: The Emmys’ ‘Traitors’ era and another ‘Survivor’ comeback
Image
Are RuPaul's Drag Race's Emmy-winning days over? Awards Magnet host Joyce Eng and Gold Derby senior editor and resident reality guru Marcus James Dixon are here to discuss the reality races.

Last year, The Traitors won both Best Reality Competition Program and Best Reality Host for Alan Cumming, dethroning RuPaul’s Drag Race and RuPaul, respectively. While five-time champ Drag Race had lost before — it was upset by Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls in 2022 — RuPaul had been undefeated, winning eight in a row. But all all good things must come to an end, right? Both categories have historically been rubber-stamp-y, so it sure feels like we're at the beginning of a Traitors domination for the next few years. Or can Drag Race make a comeback like it did in 2023 when it reclaimed the series prize?

This Is The Best Reaction We've Ever Seen To A Show Getting Canceled – And It'll Break Your Heart
Image
It's simultaneously a terrific and horrible time for animation. As usual, animated movies save the box office when all else fails, whether it was "Inside Out 2" in 2024 or "Ne Zha 2" pulling a phenomenal run at the box office and becoming (still) the highest-grossing movie of 2025. Meanwhile, adult animation has reached unprecedented levels of success and popularity, and anime continues to reach higher and higher levels of viewership across the globe.

And yet, animation is under a bigger existential threat than it's been in decades, whether from AI companies delighting in the possibility of artists losing their jobs, studios cutting corners at every turn, or even Warner Bros. Discovery and David Zaslav trying to execute his apparent goal of annihilating the house that Bugs Bunny built. Having just covered the 2025 edition of the Annecy Animation Festival just a couple of weeks ago, there was a sense of community and...

‘M3GAN 2.0’ Review: The Demon-Doll Android Is Now the Heroine of a ‘Cautionary’ Sci-Fi Action Thriller That’s Bigger, Longer and Less Fun
Image
More than half a century ago, “2001: A Space Odyssey” was the visionary cinematic manifesto of artificial intelligence, with Hal 9000 as the mopy-voiced avatar of the computer technology of the future. What wasn’t quite so clear at the time is that “2001” would anticipate the theme of 100 artificial-intelligence thrillers. The theme being: AI is here, and it wants to kill you.

“M3GAN 2.0” inflates that theme into a heavy-duty, poker-faced preposterous, but mostly more straight-up than not “cautionary” sci-fi action thriller. The borderline-camp quality of “M3GAN” isn’t entirely gone, since the new film is structured as a duel between two androids photogenic enough to be fashion models. But this one plays it all with less overt cheekiness.

The title killer of “M3GAN” has been resurrected, but this time she’s turned into an unironic heroine who is also more of a chatterbox than ever. And there’s a new fembot terminator,...

Alan Cumming would be the 4th person to repeat in Best Reality Host: See fresh Emmy odds
Image
To date, Jeff Probst (Survivor), Jane Lynch (Hollywood Game Night), and RuPaul Charles (RuPaul's Drag Race) are the only people to win the Best Reality Host Emmy at least twice in a row. But a fourth contender could soon be joining their esteemed list.

Alan Cumming (The Traitors) is the clear frontrunner in Gold Derby's predictions to claim his second consecutive host trophy. He also won as a producer last year when The Traitors prevailed for Best Competition Program. Cumming plays a heightened version of himself on Peacock's reality TV show, someone who oozes camp and gets excited every time a murder takes place inside his luxurious Scottish castle. Could The Traitors exist in a world without Cumming? Yes. But it wouldn't be nearly as fun. In addition to his two Emmys, the performer is also a double Tony winner for Cabaret and A Strange Loop.

Next in line is RuPaul,...

Hollywood Flashback: When ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’ Sent Natasha Lyonne to Conversion Camp
Image
Twenty-five years after its release, But I’m a Cheerleader still raises spirits for fans of the cult queer comedy. Jamie Babbit marked her feature directorial debut with the project that stars Natasha Lyonne as Megan, a high school cheerleader sent to conversion-therapy camp when her loved ones suspect that she’s a lesbian.

The filmmaker hatched the idea after reading an article about gay rehabilitation centers and recruited Brian Wayne Peterson to write the script. Babbit cast Clea Duvall (who starred in her short film Sleeping Beauties) as Megan’s love interest. Rosario Dawson was among those considered for the lead, but the part went to Lyonne, who led 1998’s Slums of Beverly Hills and asked about Cheerleader after seeing the script in friend Duvall’s car. Rounding out the cast were Bud Cort, Melanie Lynskey and Michelle Williams.

Babbit remembers when RuPaul expressed interest in the film. “Ru was...
