    • Shade Rupe has been working in film since 1982 as a writer, filmmaker, publicist, and actor. In 2013 Shade turned to film and TV acting full-time and was part of the recurring cast for the Batman television series Gotham for three seasons. Rupe's collection of interviews, "Dark Stars Rising," features Gaspar Noe, Divine, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Tura Satana, Udo Kier, Teller, Richard Kern, Dennis Cooper, Hermann Nitsch, and other key creators of outsider artwork. Shade was the Programming Director for the 26th Annual Olympia Film Festival with guests ranging from "Nothing Lasts Forever" director Tom Schiller and Alejandro Jodorowsky's "Holy Mountain" producer Robert Taicher to underground filmmaker Lisa Hammer.

Shade appeared in Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments, 30 Even Scarier Movie Moments, and 13 Scariest Movie Moments, in addition to a winning ride on an episode of the popular game show Cash Cab. In 2013 he performed as background talent in films such as Ryan Murphy's The Normal Heart, John Cameron Mitchell's Happyish starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, The Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman, Martin Scorsese's The Irishman, and John Wick 2 and 3.
