Exclusive: The Fyre Festival, the infamous music event founded by Billy McFarland and Ja Rule that was explored in two separate documentaries, is getting a new life as a music streaming service.

Deadline understands that Shawn Rech, who co-founded the TruBlue streaming service with former To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen, has acquired some of the IP of the event including two trademarks that will allow him to launch the service.

The deal comes shortly after it emerged that the second iteration of the festival, which was set to take place in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, was postponed indefinitely.

Billy McFarland, the force behind the ill-fated 2017 Fyre Festival, is responding to claims that Fyre Festival 2 isn’t happening.

Billy first announced plans for a second Fyre Festival back in 2023, which was originally slated to take place in the Caribbean in 2024. Now, it is apparently going to take place in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, from May 30 to June 2, 2025.

However, on April 2, Playa del Carmen’s City Hall denied the existence of the festival.

“Regarding the information that has begun to circulate about a supposed event called ‘Fyre 2, the municipal government of Playa del Carmen informs that no event of that name will be held in our city,” its Facebook page read, translated from Spanish.

Preliminary reports have been light on detail, and the cause of Gotti’s death is unknown at this time.

However, THR notes that the Murder Inc. founder suffered a stroke last year. Updates on his condition were few and far between in the months that followed.

Shortly after news of Gotti’s passing went public, moguls and artists from across the hip hop landscape raced to pay tribute to this fallen legend.

The Grammy winner reportedly died on Wednesday in New York City, his family told multiple media outlets. Although he had faced health issues in the past, a cause of death was not revealed.

TMZ’s report of Gotti’s death came after The Breakfast Club announced on Tuesday that the music producer was on life support following multiple strokes.

“New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” which has been hosted by Ryan Seacrest for 20 years now, will count down to 2025 on ABC on Dec. 31, starting at 8:00pm Eastern, but he and Times Square co-host Rita Ora won’t be the only ones on hand. They will be joined by a number of musical guests, and that guest list is growing.

Rocker Alanis Morissette will perform multiple times as she rings in the 30th anniversary of her landmark 1995 album “Jagged Little Pill”; that will include a special performance of “You Oughta Know” with special guest Reneé Rapp. And speaking of 30th anniversaries, TLC will perform in celebration of their 1994 hit album “CrazySexyCool.”

Alanis Morissette and Blake Shelton have joined the lineup of artists set to ring in the new year on the incredibly cumbersomely-titled Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2025. Reneé Rapp, Dasha, DJ Cassidy’s Pass The Mic Live! starring Ja Rule, Luis Fonsi, TLC, Fat Joe, Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh, Ernest, Hardy, Kesha, Laufey, Natasha Bedingfield, and T-Pain will also bid farewell to 2024 during this year’s holiday special.

New Year’s Rockin’ Eve will air live on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 8pm Et on ABC. Dick Clark Productions and iHeartMedia are partnering again this year to stream the end-of-the-year special on 150 iHeartRadio stations nationwide. Ryan Seacrest returns as host for the 20th year, with Rita Ora joining him in Times Square and Dayanara Torres co-hosting in Puerto Rico.

The West Coast Party will feature a performance by Morissette. That leg of the celebration will also feature guest starring performances from Reneé Rapp, Dasha, Fat Joe, Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh, Ernest, Hardy, Kesha, Laufey, Natasha Bedingfield and T-Pain. DJ Cassidy’s Pass The Mic Live! starring Ja Rule will also be part of the party. “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” with Ryan Seacrest has added another round of performers to its lineup, including a duet from Alanis Morissette and Reneé Rapp on the West Coast, Blake Shelton live from Las Vegas and TLC in Times Square.

Morissette is kicking off the 30th anniversary celebration of her seminal album “Jagged Little Pill” and will take the stage multiple times throughout the night, with Rapp joining her to sing “You Oughta Know.” Meanwhile, Shelton will be performing his latest single “Texas” and some of his biggest hits from Las Vegas. Also on the lineup is TLC, who will take the Times Square stage in New York City to sing songs from their album “Crazysexycool,” which is also marking its 30th anniversary.
