P Craig Russell has announced the artistic lineup for The Graveyard Book. The artist will adapt Neil Gaiman's Carnegie Medal-winning all-ages book into two graphic novels. Beautiful Darling, the haunting new documentary about the Andy Warhol superstar and pioneering drag-queen transsexual Candy Darling, includes a detail that may not seem to be that big a deal, but that began to astonish me the more I thought about it. It’s that Candy, by the early 1970s, after she’d already become a famous fixture on the downtown scene, was still impoverished, crashing on people’s couches, eating a can of beans for dinner, and — the movie strongly suggests — turning tricks to survive. Idw Publishing has announced The Art of Ditko, a retrospective exploring the work and influences of the legendary comics artist. The book will feature an introduction by Stan Lee along with insights from P Craig Russell, John Romita and Jerry Robinson. A New series of adventures for David Tennant's Doctor Who is being brought to life in Coventry's Canal Basin. 

Artist and author Al Davison is taking Tennant's popular Time Lord to a whole new dimension.  

Al, who runs The Astral Gypsy graphic novels shop and art studio at the Canal Basin, is the artist on a new Doctor Who comic book just released in the USA. 

The title, from Idw Publishing, will consist of alternating two-part and four-part stories, all written by Tony Lee.

Al is drawing the two-parters while the artist on the four-part arcs ironically has the same name as the new Doctor Who, Matt Smith. 

The ongoing series is launched with Al's first story arc, which is called Silver Scream and sees the Time Lord investigating an unearthly mystery in 1920s Hollywood.

Pink slips were issued Wednesday at Disney Parks and Resorts and more are on the way, courtesy of a reorganization designed to eliminate redundancies at a unit that employs 80,000 workers.

Disney wouldn't say how many were laid off or how many more layoffs are expected.

The reorganization, said Parks and Resorts chairman Jay Rasulo, is not only a response to the weak economy but also a way to further the successes of a shake-up four years ago.

Rasulo said a reorganization in 2005 led to speedier delivery of theme-park shows based on "High School Musical" and to the simultaneous openings of "Toy Story Mania" at parks in Florida and California, and he seeks more of the same.

With Wednesday's announcement, resort development will merge with attractions and entertainment development and be led by Bruce Vaughn, the chief creative executive at Imagineering, and Craig Russell, the chief design and project delivery executive.
