The Best Power Rangers Leaders in the Whole Franchise, Ranked by Skills
Image
One of the few elements shared by every season of Power Rangersis the presence of a team leader. Even if a team of Rangers has a mentor, someone has to step up to lead their friends and allies in battle. The keys to being an amazing leader are charisma, trustworthiness, the ability to support one's teammates, a strong strategic mind, and the skills to lead by example.

Every team of Power Rangers has a leader, with Red Rangers commonly filling the role, but some Rangers run their teams much better than others. Rangers like Jason Lee Scott are famous for their leadership, while the likes of Nick Russell and Conner McKnight are infamous for falling short in this regard. Even if a character is one of the best Rangers ever, they aren't automatically a talented leader, with the best example of this being the legendary Tommy Oliver.

‘Watch Duty’ Is Saving People From the L.A. Wildfires. Here’s How the App Actually Works
Image
This week, as wildfires erupted across Los Angeles, residents anxious for real-time information about the rapidly-shifting perimeters of the fires passed around a tip: download Watch Duty.

The app is run by a nonprofit nominally based in Sonoma County, but is staffed by a dozen employees and hundreds of volunteers scattered around the world. It maps wildfire boundaries in real time, alongside evacuation orders and warnings, fire weather advisories, and the location of shelters. Just three and a half years old, it has become an indispensable tool as the threat...

‘Players’ (2024) Ending Explained & Movie Spoilers: Who Does Mak End Up With, Nick Or Adam?
Image
Here we have a movie that tricks us into believing that it’s about thirsting over Tom Ellis until it reveals its true self, which is an extended episode of Modern Love. And it’s very fitting, considering it’s Valentine’s Day. In its defense, Trish Sie’s latest Netflix movie is called Players, after all. The narrative puts Ellis’ character in front of us as an angel falling from space, but then we realize that the guy was the devil all along. In case you didn’t see what I just did there, I will pat myself on the back later. For now, let’s just jump into this thing right away.

Plot Synopsis: What Happens In The Movie?

In modern-day NYC, sportswriter Mackenzie, aka Mak, and her colleagues, Adam, Bran, and Little (who’s only Bran’s brother and not a colleague), are your regular flag-bearers of hook-up culture.

Every Red Power Ranger, Ranked From Worst To Best
Image
Power Rangers is an enduring franchise that's been around since 1993, beginning with Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. The Red Ranger is always (with a few exceptions) the leader of the Power Rangers - for better or for worse. There has been over 25 seasons worth of Red Rangers, and they have not always left a legacy to be proud of.

Some Red Rangers have proven their strength and courage through their willingness to sacrifice their lives in the line of duty. Others have turned evil, skipped out on Ranger duties to play pachinko, or gone on cross-country trips with their parents. So, who are the greatest Red Rangers - and who aren't? Find out here.

Updated on January 19th, 2023 by Amanda Bruce: It’s true that not all Red Rangers are created equal. Though they’re often thought of as the leaders of their team, there have been plenty of seasons in which the Pink,...

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993)
Power Rangers: Red Rangers Ranked from Worst to Best
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993)
The Red Ranger in Power Rangers is usually the leader of the team, the one who gets the most prominent focus on the team and the most action figures! But which one is the best? We tried to settle that by ranking all the Red Rangers from the TV show and movies. Sorry, Supersonic Red Ranger from the Boom Comics. You died beautifully. Sorry to Hyperforce Red as well, you deserve a burrito.

44. Nick Russell (Firass Dirani)

Power Rangers Mystic Force

Nick is not great. Mystic Force was squarely focused on him and that red blanket of his. He had few redeeming qualities besides driving his bike into the face of a monster. He turned to evil in the finale for no discernible reason!

He was so ready to give up when faced with adversity, his entire team had to rally him to keep going. What kind of leader is he?...

‘Huge In France’ & ‘The Grinder’ Creators Tapped To Write ‘Mr. Black’ Comedy In The Works At Fox
Gad Elmaleh in Huge in France (2019)
Huge in France and The Grinder creators Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul have been tapped to write Mr. Black, a single-camera half-hour comedy based on the praised Australian series, which is in the works at Fox. The project hails from original series’ creator Adam Zwar and producer Cjz, Gail Berman and Fox Entertainment-owned SideCar.

Created by Zwar and Cjz based on the Network Ten series, and written by Mogel and Paul, the comedy follows the acid-tongued Mr. Black, a man who has one dying wish: to break up his adult daughter and her boyfriend — whom he happens to live with.

Mogel and Paul executive produce alongside Berman, who executive produces via SideCar which co-produces with Fox Entertainment.

Mogel and Paul recently created and directed every episode of Netflix series Huge in France. The pair previously created and executive produced The Grinder for Fox. They also wrote and directed The D Train,...

Cjz seals Us format deal for ‘Mr Black’
‘Mr Black’

When Adam Zwar first pitched the Mr Black concept to Cjz, group CEO Matt Campbell was immediately impressed, telling Zwar: “This is so formattable, everyone can relate to the character.”

So it has proved as Cjz has signed a format deal with Fox Entertainment’s SideCar, a content development accelerator launched earlier this year by Hollywood heavy-hitter Gail Berman.

SideCar has made a script development commitment to the single-camera comedy, with Berman, a former president both of Fox Entertainment and Paramount Pictures, as executive producer.

Several Us production companies were chasing the remake rights. Campbell tells If that SideCar won mostly due to the enthusiasm of Berman, who told him: “We have been waiting for a show like Mr Black to come along. We’re thrilled to have him.”

The La-based Zwar, who co-created Squinters, Lowdown and Wilfred, is expected to be involved in the development of the remake.

Cjz addresses drama budgets, shortage of writers and original concepts
(L-r): Nadine Garner, Sophie Wright, Nick Russell, Stephen Curry and Paul Denny in ‘Mr Black’.

Cjz MD Nick Murray and CEO Matt Campbell are grappling with three major issues facing the screen industry as the company ramps up its production and development slates.

They identify the challenges as the rising cost of drama budgets; a shortage of top-class writers given the talent drain to the Us and UK; and finding original concepts for factual and factual entertainment shows.

Murray questions why drama is more expensive to produce than comedy, observing: “I don’t know that the additional money that goes into drama is necessarily visible on screen to the audience.

“The costs of drama are going up and we need to be making it cheaper. There are work practices which make it impossible to make drama at the price it should be made at. We should be employing people differently or with more flexibility,...

Shamus Kelley Feb 11, 2020

After over two and a half decades, Power Rangers has given us a ton of Red Rangers. Which crimson warrior is the best?

The Red Ranger in Power Rangers is usually the leader of the team, the one who gets the most prominent focus on the team and the most action figures! So in honor of the arrival of the second season of Power Rangers: Beast Morphers we’re ranking all the Red Rangers from the TV show and movies. Sorry, Supersonic Red Ranger. You died beautifully. Sorry to Hyperforce Red as well, you deserve a burrito.
