Biography

    • Peter Russell was born on June 8, 1931 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, UK. He was an actor, known for Doctor Who (1963), ITV Play of the Week (1955) and Play for Today (1970). He was married to Yvonne Ellis and Joyce Ellis. He died on July 28, 2003 in Gosport, Hampshire, England, UK.

Family

  • Spouses
      Yvonne Ellis(1995 - ?) (his death, 1 child)
      Joyce Ellis(June 6, 1953 - December 25, 1977) (her death, 1 child)

Trivia

  • Pete was a comedian & did multiple stage shows with many of the UK's well known TV comedians of the 70's like Jimmy Tarbuck etc. He was as well known for his comedy as he was his acting.
  • The Stage, the theatrical journal of record, gives a birthday of 29th March rather than 8th June, lists his wife as actress Barbara (with whom he had 6 daughters) rather than Joyce and Yvonne (1 child with each), and says he died of a short illness rather than cancer. It is possible that two records have been confused, as his death year is also often listed as 1995, although he was still acting on TV after that.
