- Virginia Sale was a successful actress in radio, providing the voice of the housekeeper Martha in the serial "Those We Love", for eight years. She also won praise for her one-woman show "Americana Sketches", based on humorous recollections of her small town upbringing. She performed this act more than 6,000 times in the U.S., on tour in Europe, and for American troops during World War II. From the late 1950's, she concentrated primarily on doing commercials.
