‘Youngblood’ Reimagining In Works From Aircraft Pictures & Dolphin Entertainment; Charles Officer Directing
Image
Aircraft Pictures is teaming up with Dolphin Entertainment to produce a new feature adaptation of the 1986 sports drama, Youngblood, with rising filmmaker Charles Officer (Akilla’s Escape) on board to direct. The film is slated to begin principal photography in early 2023.

Youngblood follows hockey prodigy Dean Youngblood, who joins the Hamilton Bulldogs and discovers he must face off against toxic behavior on the ice and within himself, to fulfill his dream of being drafted into the National Hockey League. The original film, distributed by MGM, starred Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves in his feature debut, and has since become a cult classic among hockey fans.

Josh Epstein & Kyle Rideout, Seneca Aaron and Officer penned the script for the new film, which will be distributed in Canada by Photon Films — being made with the financial participation of Telefilm Canada and the Talent Fund, as well as Ontario Creates and the Shaw Rocket Fund.

Arlington Cemetery Now Has Wreaths for All Graves — Thanks to Generous Donors: ‘We’re One Country’
Last Weekend (2014)
Christmas arrived just in time this year for the group that lays holiday wreaths on headstones at Arlington National Cemetery. As People highlighted less than two weeks ago, the nonprofit Wreaths Across America did not have enough wreaths to cover nearly one-fourth of the 245,000 final resting places at Arlington.

By Saturday, though, generous donors — including Cub Scout packs, Girl Scout troops, high school football teams and a 4-h Club — rallied to make sure all of Arlington was covered for the annual Wreaths Across America Day.

“To know that no veteran will go without being honored and remembered at Arlington again this year,...

Middle School Girls Wear 'I Am More Than a Distraction' Shirts to Protest Dress Code
A group of girls at Frederick County, Maryland's Urbana Middle School are protesting their school's dress code with shirts that read "I Am Not a Distraction." The students created their homemade shirts after they say the school's new principal, Peter Daddone, forced anyone in violation of the dress code to wear an oversized yellow T-shirt, according to the Frederick News-Post. They argue that requiring students to wear one of the oversized shirts as punishment is actually against the dress code, which states that students "who are in violation will be addressed privately by an administrator or staff member." The protestors...

‘Tom and Sam are Stuck’ in the Present. Picked up by Starz.
Sam Laybourne and his uncle, Tom Saunders, are from the future (the year 2346, to be exact). As a pre-wedding gift, Tom decided to take Sam back in time to the 1970s to party it up. But on the way there, the time machine broke down. Now they’re stuck in present day, awfully confused by the way the world works, and documenting their experiences. Both men claim this is not a joke, and because I have no evidence to the contrary, I trust that everything that happens in this best reality show ever is completely real. If I had the ambition to use my digital camera, instead of a editorial review of Tom & Sam Are Stuck, I’d give give you an accurate portrayal of the quality of this series by filming myself curled in a ball, pained by laughter. Unfortunately, instead of ambition, I have an incurable laziness. Fortunately,...
