Movie Review: “Summer of Violence”, A Poetic Journey Amidst Harsh Realities
Image
“Summer of Violence” sets the stage for an enchanting initiation journey of a young girl named Noemi, who is filled with dreams and must also come to grips with the harsh realities of life. This film beautifully encapsulates Noemi’s voyage towards maturity which is stripped of her dreams and her struggle to harmoniously merge her fantasies with the rugged reality she faces.

In essence, “Summer of Violence” brilliantly portrays a journey into adulthood set in the backdrop of a memorable summer in the 90s, teeming with adventure.

The film, “Summer of Violence” is directed by the talented Nicki Micheaux, who marks her directorial debut. Despite being a novice director, her long-standing acting career reflects in her directorial style, skillfully allowing the characters to take center stage. Nicki Micheaux has crafted a character-driven film with a stirring screenplay, while keenly focusing on every aspect.

Fresh Kills' Jennifer Esposito On Her Directorial Debut, Twisting The Mafia Genre & Blue Bloods Fandom
Image
Jennifer Esposito brings a fresh female perspective to the mafia genre in Fresh Kills, in which she stars, writes, produces, and makes her directorial debut. Esposito pulled from her own past growing up in Staten Island in writing the movie, while also putting much of her own life experience into the movie's two main characters. The star is also forever grateful for the Blue Bloods fandom and feels the show coming to an end is a smart choice by the creative team.

After steadily building out her filmography with major roles in the early '00s, namely the Oscar-winning crime drama Crash, Esposito has lent her talents to a wide variety of genres throughout her career, including the action-comedy Taxi, the CBS police procedural Blue Bloods and Prime Video's superhero satire hit, The Boys.

‘Undefiled’ – An Important Film With Flaws (Review)
Image
CinemaBlind’s Review – 50%

Undefiled is a thrilling drama film inspired by true events. Directed by Matthew McCaulley, who also wrote the film with Daniel and David McCaulley, the film shows us some very evil things in our society and some flawed people who might gather enough courage to stand up against injustice and evil.

The film revolves around an aging baseball player with a failing marriage and career, who is also dealing with issues like porn addiction and childhood trauma. When he finds out that some members of his team are abusing an underage girl, who he develops a bond with later on in the film. He must decide between choosing a steady career or helping the girl get away from these monsters.

As a film Undefiled is flawed in many ways but I think the story and the message make it important enough for a single watch. The efforts...
