After becoming the highest-grossing film in Japan last year, Studio Ghibli’s From Up on Poppy Hill is getting underway with the English language dubbing process, and now GKids, the specialty animation distributor in the Us, has tapped a high-profile cast to do it.

Christina Hendricks, Aubrey Plaza, Ron Howard, Gillian Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bruce Dern, Chris Noth, and Anton Yelchin have all been set to join the voice cast, Variety report, alongside Sarah Bolger, Beau Bridges, Jeff Dunham, Isabelle Fuhrman, Emily Osment, Charles Saxton and Alex Wolff.

“Set in Yokohama, From Up On Poppy Hill is a high school love story that take place in the year before the 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics. As the country begins to pick itself up from the devastation of the Second World War, the new generation struggles to move towards a prosperous future whilst trying not to lose the essence of their past.

Up on Poppy Hill, the latest animated film written by Hayao Miyazaki (Howl's Moving Castle, The Secret World of Arrietty) and directed by his son Goro Miyazaki, was the No. 1 movie in Japan in 2011. Now, GKids is bringing it to America with an English speaking voice cast. 

Leading the kids voices is Isabelle Fuhrman (Clove in The Hunger Games), Emily Osment ("Hannah Montana"), Alex Wolff ("The Naked Brothers Band"), Charles Saxton (Bandslam) and Sarah Bolger (The Spiderwick Chronicles). The adult voice cast includes Aubrey Plaza ("Parks and Recreation"), Anton Yelchin (Star Trek), Jamie Lee Curtis (Freaky Friday and the Activia commercials), Ron Howard (the director, also the narrator in "Arrested Development"), Chris Noth ("The Good Wife"), Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men"), Beau Bridges ("Franklin and Bash"), Bruce Dern ("Big Love") and comic ventriloquist Jeff Dunham (Dinner for Schmucks). Gillian Anderson is also in the voice cast - she is most known...
