Spike renews 'Ways to Die,' 'MANswers'
MANswers (2007)
Spike TV has renewed "1000 Ways to Die" and "MANswers" and is expanding the "Die" franchise with spinoff "1000 Ways to Lie."

The late-night trivia show "MANswers" has been picked up for 10 episodes, while the 13-episode order for "Die," from Thom Beers' Original Prods., includes a pilot for "Lie."

Just like "Die," which re-creates some of the most outlandish ways people died, "Lie" will showcase some of the most outrageous lies ever told in a fast-paced, tongue-in-cheek manner.

Beers pitched the title of the spinoff to Sharon Levy, Spike's senior vp original programming, and she was sold. "Thom's got his finger so firmly on the pulse on our core audience," Levy said.

"Die" and "MANswers," whose renewals Levy called "a no-brainer" based on their strong performance on TV and online, will air in a block next season, she said. (They have run on different nights, Sunday ("Die") and Tuesday ("MANswers")
