Lily Collins’ Emily will meet a fellow American expat in the upcoming fifth season of Netflix’s hit comedy Emily In Paris. Bryan Greenberg (Suits LA) has joined the cast as recurring, playing Jake, an American living in Paris. Also set to recur in Season 5 is French actress Michèle Laroque (Better Days) who will play Yvette, an old friend of Sylvie’s (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu). Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino are in final negotiations to reprise their roles in the long awaited sequel to Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion.
It isn’t the focus of this article, but as we’re on the subject of 1990s high school reunion films, Grosse Point Blank is very much worth your time, featuring one of John Cusack’s finest performances. It’s also got a brilliant punch up between Cusack and his real life martial arts teacher Benny ‘The Jet’ Urquidez, who was still very much in fine fettle over a decade after his two iconic bouts with Jackie Chan in Wheels On Meals and Dragons Forever.
What is the focus of this article is the underrated 1997 comedy Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion, which saw Mira Sorvino and Friends alum Lisa Kudrow play the titular pair, outcasts who decide to lie about their success in life at their high school reunion.

Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino are set to return for Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion 2 – and there’s been script progress.
The back end of the 1990s saw a pair of high school reunion comedies hit the big screen, both of which remain worth seeking out. On the one hand, there was John Cusack playing a hitman returning for his school reunion in Grosse Pointe Blank. On the other, Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow headlined the wonderfully offbeat Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion. Neither fully ignited the box office, both though found their fans.
It’s been a couple of years since we first heard word of a possible Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion 2, a nice surprise that sprung up relatively recently. Now, Lisa Kudrow has given a promising update, in which she reckons there’s a working script in place.

Out of all the camp classics that '90s cinema gifted the world, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion is one of the more chaotic and silly choices, consolidating its well-deserved cult following. Under the direction of David Mirkin, Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow delivered phenomenal performances, which shockingly won zero awards, but not so shockingly, millions of hearts.
10 years after high school ends, inseparable best friends, Romy and Michele, are still living unbothered and for their own entertainment. However, after deciding to attend their high school reunion, they realize that they have not been doing as much with their lives as some of their classmates, leading them to invent fake careers to impress everybody. Preaching self-belief and confidence, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion is an incredible tale of being unapologetically true to yourself and embracing the weird and wonderful.

Netflix has dropped the trailer for Part 2 of Emily in Paris Season 4, and of course, all roads lead to Rome at the end of the latest installment.

Tension brews between Emily and Gabriel as Camille still hasn’t shared that she isn’t pregnant with her ex-fiancé. Meanwhile, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) might turn into more than just a business asset for Emily as he first comes to Paris “exploring some business opportunities.
Jvma hopes to acquire whoever Marcello works for, and Sylvie is keen to nab a meeting with him via Emily — which involves her going to Rome.

Emily is back, and Netflix promises she’s ready to chic things up.
Emily in Paris‘ long-awaited fourth season finally has a trailer (below). The season will put one stiletto in front of the other to walk the path set out by some of the streamer’s other biggest hits (Stranger Things, Cobra Kai and Bridgerton, to name a few) and will get a split-season release. Part one releases five episodes on Aug. 15, followed by part two’s five episodes hitting Sept. 12.
Season three left the hit show starring Lily Collins as Emily Cooper with a series of lingering bombshell reveals for Emily (involving a love triangle between Lucas Bravo’s Gabriel and Lucien Laviscount’s Alfie) and the rest of the cast. The trailer sees the protagonist of the comedy trying to move on after season three’s revelations and may find her circling around to a big decision by season’s end.

“Emily in Paris” Season 5? Not so fast.
During the amfAR Gala at the Cannes Film Festival, which raises money for research to end HIV and AIDS, Winnie Harlow and Paris Jackson appeared onstage to auction off a walk-on role in a previously unannounced fifth season of the Netflix series. The winner of the auction shelled out €250,000 to appear in the series as well as the chance to attend the Season 4 premiere in Los Angeles. Harlow and Jackson also said that Season 5 of the popular series is scheduled to begin shooting in mid 2025.
However, an individual with knowledge of the situation says that Netflix has not in fact greenlit another season of “Emily in Paris.” According to the official amfAR auction website, the walk-on role came “Courtesy of Darren Star,” the creator of the series. The website was recently updated to state that the winning bid “will have the opportunity to...

Alan Cumming is opening up about Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion and the sequel that Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow are soon to pitch to the studios.
In 1997, Cumming starred in the comedy film as Sandy Frink, the unpopular geek who has a crush on Kudrow’s Michele and turns into a successful businessman after inventing a special kind of rubber.
Sorvino recently revealed that a sequel to the Robin Schiff-created film is in the works. Amid the Television Critics Association winter press to promote The Traitors, Deadline asked Cumming for his thoughts on the long-awaited sequel.
“Yes, it seems like it’s finally… they’re doing deals and there’s no script yet,” he told us. “There’s no script yet but it seems like it’s actually … an ongoing situation rather than not.”

Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow may be headed back to high school. A sequel to the 1997 cult comedy Romy and Michele's High School Reunion is in the works. In an interview with Us Magazine, Sorvino reports that the long-belated sequel is on its way, saying that "Lisa and I are wrapping up our deals as executive producers on it with the studio. We’re full force ahead." The sequel is to be written by Robin Schiff, who penned the original, but she's not finished yet - according to Sorvino, the script is being held up by Schiff's commitments to Netflix's Emily in Paris, which is currently resuming post-strike production. The eccentric, fashion-obsessed characters of Romy and Michele originated in Schiff's 1988 play Ladies Room, which starred a pre-Friends Kudrow.
