Production on Dexter: Resurrection is in full swing in New York, and as things continue to evolve, new cast members are still coming aboard the sequel series, including How I Met Your Mother veteran Neil Patrick Harris. Harris starred in the popular CBS sitcom from 2005 to 2014, appearing in 208 episodes as Barney Stinson, a brash and opinionated womanizer known for his expensive suits and “legendary” catchphrases.
Per Variety, Harris joins the already stacked cast of Dexter: Resurrection in a guest-starring role, but other than that, little is known about his part in the series other than his character's name: Lowell. It remains to be seen if he will be a friend to Michael C. Hall's titular serial killer, or if he'll end up on his kill table at some point over the course of the 10-episode season. Getting a pilot episode right can make or break a TV show. The most compelling television shows have had first episodes that not only set the table but also reel the audience in with an intriguing premise, deep characters, and a captivating storyline. The pilot is responsible for setting the tone for the rest of the show, which is why it is crucial to nail this first installment.
There are a number of shows that had near-perfect pilot episodes. From The Walking Dead to Lost, watching their first episodes was a treat for audiences. Setting the foundation for the rest of the season and series, these episodes had the best of everything, and they made the viewer hit "next" on their device (or at least wait impatiently for the next week.) A strong pilot can establish a show's identity and make it memorable, and these flawless pilots did just that.

V-Wars is being developed as direct-to-series and is the initial project under Idw Entertainment and eOne TV’s first-look co-production deal announced last month. Three-time Emmy nominee Tim Schlattmann (Dexter, Smallville) will write the pilot based on Bram Stoker Award-winning author Jonathan Maberry’s best-selling book. V-Wars debuted as a collection of prose stories that chronicles the first Vampire War, and a second volume is scheduled for release in July. V-Wars is set in a world transformed by a catastrophic environmental event that releases a millennium-old virus that, once triggered, affects individuals differently depending on their DNA. The result is vampires as unique as their cultures and a response from those unaffected humans like never seen before. Schlattmann also will executive produce, along with Ted Adams and David Ozer from Idw Entertainment, John Morayniss and Benedict Carver from eOne Television, and David Alpert and Rick Jacobs from Circle of Confusion...

Yet another "Wizard Of Oz"-related TV drama series has been put in development, this one by the Lifetime channel.
Entitled "Red Brick Road," it is described as the fantasy world of L. Frank Baum as seen with an edgy, "Game Of Thrones"-style adult fantasy feel.
Tim Schlattmann ("Dexter") developed the idea with artist Rob Prior ("The Darkness II"), while film producers Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh will both serve as executive producers on the series.
The idea comes from the early scenes in the original 1939 film adaptation where Dorothy sets off for the Emerald City along the Yellow Brick Road.
At the start though, we see the start of the 'path' seems to consist of a swirl of two colored bricks - yellow and red.
The story follows Dorothy down the red brick path as it takes her to the oldest, darkest and most dangerous parts of Oz...

Dexter Episode 811
“Monkey in a Box”
Written By: Tim Schlattmann & Wendy West
Directed By: Ernest Dickerson
Original Airdate: 15 September 2013
In This Episode...
Dexter washes Vogel’s blood off his hands, collects all her files on him, and calls the police. He gives his statement to Quinn and Batista: she called him over, he found her bleeding to death, tried to staunch the bleeding, but she was already gone. Dexter tells Deb about Vogel, and he is taking it rather hard. He then tells Hannah, and promises that this doesn’t change anything about their plans, but he did need to “take care of” Saxon before they leave. Dexter has two days left in Miami. He sends Harrison to stay with Jamie at Batista’s house to keep him safe, while Sylvia Prado (from season three) handles the listing on Dexter’s apartment.
Dexter is summoned in to the interrogation room by Quinn.

Dexter, Season 8, Episode 4, ‘Scar Tissue’
Written By Tim Schlattmann
Directed By Stefan Schwartz
Airs Sundays, 8pm on Showtime
The trouble with ending a story is that too many people want too many different things, the author included, and quite often the natural endgame to set up is the one that people are afraid to see. It’s a scary thought, after all, if you’ve been invested in something for it to come to an end. We all want different things, have different expectations and not everyone will be satisfied with the result. With Scar Tissue, the fourth installment of Dexter’s final season, it has become clear that the last great chase will focus almost entirely on its two central characters, not villains of the week or rival serial killers. Unfortunately, with the episode’s indecisive conclusion, the chosen direction is not in the slightest bit clear. Fear, it seems,...

Dexter, Season 7, Episode 12: “Surprise, Motherf—r!”
Written by Scott Buck & Tim Schlattmann
Directed by John Dahl
Airs Sundays at 8pm (Et) on Showtime
When Dexter returned to the airwaves twelve short weeks ago it returned as if possessed by a ethereal phantom bearing the face of its old self but the fury of some chaotic, unpredictable demon. A ferocious and breathless season opener laid waste to the sense of decline, and in the following episodes the pattern for an unreadable, indiscernible story that seemed to be getting back to the basics of the classic era while packing the punch fitting to wrap up the show. After all, this is the penultimate run. So it all comes down to this one hour of television, perhaps the most important since the pilot throttled jugulars. Surprised?
It’s all going to hell in a hand basked for Dexter Morgan, with the love...

Season seven of Dexter comes to a close this weekend, and I am anxious and excited for it. I am way too obsessed with this show, but luckily there is someone who doesn’t mind - or was at least polite enough not to tease me about it: writer Scott Reynolds. Reynolds has been on Dexter since season one and is a self-proclaimed fanboy. We talked at length about the evolution of the series, with special attention paid to the insane developments of the last season and a half.
It has been seven years in the making, but Deb finally knows Dexter’s secret. How did you guys tackle that? It’s such a delicate thing.
Well, in the books - I think at the end of the first book - Deb finds out. Then in the books they are working together - well, not really working together, but she...

Dexter, Season 7, Episode 11: “Do You See What I See?”
Written by Tim Schlattmann & Manny Coto
Directed by Steve Shill
Airs Sundays at 8pm (Et) on Showtime
Christmas time has come, and all dear and dark Dexter wants is the future which is so tantalizingly close to his grasp. By this point, unfortunately, the audience are just as impatient as the protagonist of a show which has picked the worst possible time to start becoming bumpy again, with the Season finale on the horizon and the show’s legacy on the line. While last week’s outing outweighed the bad with the good, last night’s wasn’t quite as full of cheer.
Though it is a jolly time of year, the bubble of despair that is Showtime’s Miami are none the wiser. Thanks to the family connection, Matthews invites Dexter round to discuss Laguerta’s new theory that...

Dexter, Season 7, Episode 8: “Argentina”
Written by Tim Schlattmann
Directed by Steve Shill
Airs Sundays at 8pm (Et) on Showtime
It’s already been noted by numerous reviewers and fans since the start of the season, but the levels of unpredictability within the latest Dexter saga simply know no bounds, and this was driven home by last night’s ‘Helter Skelter’, an episode veering wildly off any anticipated trajectory and turning the final three episodes into a storytelling no-man’s-land. The course this ship is taking into murky waters is now, frankly, anyone’s guess.
Having failed in their initial efforts to off Isaak, the Koshka brotherhood dispatches two of their most lethal hitmen to Miami to finish the job. Flanked on all sides by enemies, Isaak quickly concocts a scheme to get the upper hand on his former partners; he strong arms Dexter into helping him by using Hannah as leverage.

We have lots of tidbits today relating to Season 7 of Showtime's "Dexter" such as the new promo poster, a behind-the-scenes still provided by co-star Jennifer Carpenter, and some casting news that includes a pretty big name we haven't heard mentioned yet.
According to IMDb (so no telling how reliable it is), Calista Flockhart ("Ally McBeal", "Brothers & Sisters") will be appearing in the first episode of Season 7, entitled "Are You...?" She'll be joined by Nicholas Vigneau as young Dexter and Savannah Paige Rae ("Parenthood") as young Debra.
Below you'll find the new promo poster courtesy of Dexter Daily and the Bts photo posted by Jennifer Carpenter on Twitter with the caption: "Two dummies waiting to shoot..." The image is from Episode 7.03, "Buck the System".

The second promo video for Season 7 of Showtime's "Dexter" has arrived, and it features both the titular character and his no doubt confused and sure to be pissed off sister Deb. Guess we'll find out soon enough if truth does indeed bring light.
One of the most acclaimed shows on television, "Dexter" stars Michael C. Hall, who has earned multiple Emmy nominations as well as a Golden Globe award for his role as a complicated and conflicted blood-spatter expert for the Miami police department who moonlights as a serial killer. The show has received multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for best television drama series, as well as a prestigious Peabody Award in 2008, and was twice named one of AFI's Top Ten television series.
The series also stars Jennifer Carpenter, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Lauren Vélez, David Zayas, and James Remar. Season 7 guest stars announced thus far include Ray Stevenson,...
