Born and raised in Regina, Michael trained in Edmonton where he
graduated from the University of Alberta BFA Acting program, but he
currently calls Vancouver home. Michael is best known for his work on
CBC's Street Cents (1989), for which he was nominated for a Gemini Award. Michael's
proudest achievement was producing and starring in the World English
Premiere of a rock opera by Tom Waits, William S. Burroughs and Robert
Wilson entitled The Black Rider (Off Broadway), which recently won the
2001 Sterling award for Best Fringe Production. Other favorite acting
credits include Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Theatre Network), The Blue
Orphan (Catalyst Theatre, UK Tour), Over the River and Through the
Woods (The Mayfield), Mojo (Theatre Network), Hamlet (University of
Regina) and The Collected Works of Billy The Kid (Studio Theatre). Film
and TV credits include Jeremiah with Luke Perry, Mentors with Henry
Czerny, Black Sash, Special Unit 2 and Stealing Christmas with Tony
Danza. Michael has been honored with a SMPIA Award for Best Actor for
his work in Portrait of a Young Artist.
