Iconic Air Force movies vary in style and substance. Notable films like Iron Eagle, Firefox, and Hot Shots! blend action, humor, and character depth. Dunkirk stands out as a modern masterpiece, rewriting traditional war movie approaches.
Movies about the military, and especially the Air Force, tend to excite audiences by providing thrilling action scenes, feats of bravery, and cutting-edge special effects. The best films in the genre also feature compelling storylines, character depth, and, of course, flight scenes, among many other factors that go into making an excellent movie.
When movie fans think of classic flying films, the Top Gun franchise may come to mind, especially with the fairly recent release of Top Gun: Maverick. However, Maverick and his comrades are part of the Navy rather than the Air Force. Still, focusing solely on movies about the Air Force branch of the military offers plenty of options for entertaining watches.

Revenge of the Nerds was released in 1984, a year of sea change in Hollywood, as the city of Los Angeles hosted a memorable Summer Olympics, and non-traditional films were again in fashion after the end of the New Hollywood era. Director Jeff Kanew directed several such comedies in the 80s, but none more celebrated than Revenge of the Nerds — which had a script inspired by an article about the 'nerds' taking over Silicon Valley. During development, Kanew saw Ted McGinley and his chiseled features on the cover of USC Magazine, and knew he'd be the perfect collegiate alpha male and head bully to oppose his heroic cadre of pencil-pushing geeks.
On the nerd team, the casting of Lewis (Robert Carradine) and Gilbert (Anthony Edwards) proved central to the film's success, as Carradine became iconic with his signature laugh and horn-rimmed spectacles, and Edwards provided the film's soul as the 'straight man' of the duo.

The Broadway revival of the Tony Kushner-Jeanine Tesori musical Caroline, or Change and the New York premiere of Noah Haidle’s Birthday Candles starring Debra Messing are the latest productions to announce postponements until 2021, and they’ll be joined on the Roundabout Theatre Company line-up with the Broadway debut of Alice Childress’ 1955 play Trouble in Mind, to directed by Charles Randolph-Wright.
The postponements – plans to open both Caroline, Or Change and Birthday Candles this Spring were scuttled by Broadway’s Covid-19 shutdown – follow this week’s announcements that The Music Man, Flying Over Sunset, American Buffalo and The Minutes are now targeting Spring 2021 premieres. Birthday Candles, with Messing, will open in Fall 2021.
“With the ongoing uncertainty of the pandemic and with concern for our artists, staff, and audiences, we have determined that we will not be able to reopen our theaters this fall,” said Roundabout Artistic Director/CEO Todd Haimes.

Space Camp is receiving the remake treatment from Disney+. Saturday Night Live writers Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell are currently writing the script for the remake of the 1986 teen adventure movie. Disney's new streaming platform is starting to get more original content made in order to compete with the other services out there. So far, the live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, has been the subscription service's biggest hit and the studio is looking for a lot more.
As for the original 1986 Space Camp movie, it was not a hit when it opened in theaters. The original movie stars Lea Thompson, Kelly Preston, Tate Donovan, Kate Capshaw, Larry B. Scott, and a young Joaquin Phoenix. The original storyline revolves around some teens who attend a space camp in Florida, and end up mistakenly going to space when a routine engine check goes bad. The group works together to find oxygen...

The original Revenge of the Nerds cast is reportedly reuniting and setting up a new movie. This summer marked the 35th anniversary of the first installment hitting theaters. The original movie is considered to be an 80s classic, but the sequels that followed, including made-for-tv movies were not received very well. In addition, looking back at the 1984 movie shows a different time in Hollywood and contains some pretty controversial scenes that some may call problematic these days. However, it sounds like the gang wants to get together for a new movie.
It has been reported that Disney is behind the upcoming Revenge of the Nerds sequel. Since Disney owns Fox, this would makes sense, but is Disney really going to put out a sequel to the raunchy 1984 movie? Robert Carradine, who stars as Lewis Skolnick, is back at Disney for the Lizzie McGuire sequel series, so he may have been...

Booger’s belch in Revenge of the Nerds is actually the sound of a camel climaxing. There. Now you, too, are cursed — or blessed, if you’re into that sort of thing — with the same knowledge as the audience from Saturday’s Sf Sketchfest Revenge of the Nerds reunion. Curtis Armstrong, who played Booger (and who can currently be seen as Principal Foster on New Girl), revealed that little piece of foley magic at San Francisco’s Castro Theater, and nobody was more thrilled to hear it than the evening’s moderator, Chris Hardwick. The Nerdist and @Midnight host unleashed his inner 12-year-old on the crowd, displaying an unfiltered giddiness onstage as he interacted with seven stars from the film that played a formative role in his youth. In addition to Armstrong, Timothy Busfield (Arnold Poindexter), Robert Carradine (Lewis Skolnick), Andrew Cassese (Harold Wormser), Julia Montgomery (Betty Childs), Larry B. Scott...

Our sources have revealed to us that there is going to be a new version of the very short lived but popular 1978 dramatic series The White Shadow coming to television, and with a new name.
In case you are not familiar with the series The White Shadow, it starred Ken Howard as Ken Reeves, a white former NBA professional who retired from the pro game and got a job as a basketball coach in a predominantly black inner-city high school. The series developed into how a white coach tried to teach his players about life, and how to deal with real life issues.
Anyway, we hear the new series is co-executive produced, written by and directed by actor Larry B. Scott (of Revenge Of The Nerds fame and The Karate Kid fame), with the show to be titled My New Life. The show is still rounding out the new cast...
