Guilds spurn Stanley Brooks' settlement offer
Stanley M. Brooks
The Hollywood talent guilds that have been trying to collect unpaid money and residuals from producer Stanley M. Brooks relating to Logo's "Sordid Lives: The Series" are poised to reject his offer to settle $1.6 million in debts for 16 cents on the dollar.

AFTRA, the DGA and the WGA West have made their decisions while the Iatse pension fund has yet to make its final decision. The guilds held a meeting Wednesday at AFTRA headquarters after polling their affected members.

The union members who attended meetings or spoke to their guild reps this week were apparently unanimous in rejecting the offer.

"I did not give less than 100% of my time or talent to this project and I will not accept to be paid anything less than 100% of what is owed me plus penalties," actress and AFTRA member Caroline Rhea said from Scotland, where she is performing in a play.

The Goode Family and Surviving Suburbia: ABC Prez Says Sitcoms Cancelled
At today's Television Critic's Association summer press tour, ABC Entertainment President Steve McPherson conceded that two of the network's freshman sitcoms wouldn't be coming back for second seasons.

The Goode Family is an animated series from King of the Hill's Mike Judge, David Krinsky, and John Altschuler. Featuring the voice talents of Judge, Brian Doyle Murray, Dave Herman, Linda Cardellini, and Nancy Carell, the sitcom follows a working-class family who, despite their best efforts, find it difficult to live politically-correct lives.

Surviving Suburbia stars Bob Saget as a father who lives in a typical suburban household but can't seem to find much that makes him happy. Castmembers of the sitcom also include Cynthia Stevenson, Jared Kusnitz, G. Hannelius, Jere Burns, Dan Cortese, Lorna Scott, and Lyndsey Jolly.

Surviving Suburbia: Is the ABC Sitcom Cancelled or Will It Be Back?
The alphabet network has pulled the Bob Saget sitcom after just four episodes. The show was attracting nearly 10 million viewers, so what's the problem?

Surviving Suburbia centers around Steve and Annie Patterson (Bob Saget and Cynthia Stevenson), heads of a typical suburban family. But, unlike the idyllic sitcom dads of the past, Steve has a cynical view of everything around him. Others in the cast include Jared Kusnitz, G. Hannelius, Jere Burns, Dan Cortese, and Lorna Scott.

Originally slated to air on the CW, ABC picked up the sitcom for a midseason run. Suburbia debuted on April 6th to 12.16 million viewers and a 3.2/8 rating/share of the 18-49 demographic. The second installment slid to 11.25 million and a 3/7 in the demo. The most recent installment (on April 27th) hit a series low of 9.91 million and a 2.4/6 rating/share. While the decline certainly isn't positive, the series still attracts more than many...

Surviving Suburbia: Truly Great Ratings? Keep It or Cancel It?
The popular Full House sitcom left ABC in 1995 after eight seasons. Flash forward 14 years later and House star Bob Saget has returned to the world of sitcoms and the alphabet network. Surviving Suburbia has certainly had a rocky journey to primetime but now that it's here, will it stick around?

Surviving Suburbia revolves around the Pattersons, Steve (Bob Saget) and Anne (Cynthia Stevenson), a normal couple that has been married for 20 years, have two children and live in a typical suburb. Unlike the sitcom dads of the past, Steve has a cynical view of everything around him. Others in the cast include Jared Kusnitz, G. Hannelius, Jere Burns, Dan Cortese, and Lorna Scott.

The sitcom was originally slated to start airing on Sunday nights last Fall, as part of Media Rights Capital's deal to lease the CW's Sunday night airtime. During the Summer, Mrc made some changes and decided to hold Suburbia until midseason.

Bob Saget may be 'Surviving' on ABC
Bob Saget's homeless "Surviving Suburbia" may have found a new residential neighborhood. According to Variety, ABC is in talks to pick up the Media Rights Capital comedy "Surviving Suburbia," which stars Saget along with Cynthia Stevenson, Jared Kusnitz, G Hannelius, Jere Burns and Lorna Scott. "Surviving Suburbia" was originally ordered as part of Mrc's Sunday night programming deal with The CW, which planned to premiere the show in March. The CW/Mrc deal was a major ratings dud this fall and The CW ended the pact in November. The trade says that production on "Surviving Suburbia" continued despite its uncertain future...

"Wanted" - Blu-ray review! Very Impressive.
Mark Millar and J.G. Jones’ comic book series “Wanted” turns into a sensational on-screen actioner and now arrives on Blu-ray. Since I missed this one on the big screen, I was absolutely thrilled by the nonstop, high-octane thrills under the meticulous direction of Russian helmer Timur Bekmambetov (“Night Watch,” “Day Watch”). Wesley Gibson (multi-talented James McAvoy) is a nothing. He lives in a broken down apartment, works at a dead end job under an overweight Nazi of a boss called Janice (Lorna Scott) who constantly undermines him and he’s too much of a sissy to ditch his girlfriend of quite some time who’s screwing the annoying co-worker posing as his best pal. On top of that, he has panic attacks which require medication or his heart beats to a rhythm of 400 a strikes a minute. We’re told his father hit the road when Wesley was a mere...
