The Terminal List is getting some serious reinforcements for Season 2. Deadline has reported that Edwin Hodge and Caitlin Bassett (Quantum Leap) have been cast in recurring guest roles in the hit Prime Video action thriller led by Chris Pratt. The casting marks a reunion for Hodge and Pratt, who previously starred together in 2021’s sci-fi blockbuster The Tomorrow War, and now, the two are going from fighting aliens to hunting conspirators in The Terminal List’s grounded and gritty world of covert military ops.
Created by David Digilio and based on the bestselling novels by Jack Carr, The Terminal List follows Navy Seal James Reece (Pratt), who uncovers a deadly conspiracy after his platoon is ambushed during a high-risk mission. Season 1, based on Carr’s debut novel, was a pulse-pounding dive into Reece’s descent into vengeance and justice. Season 2 adapts True Believer, and brings new allies—and enemies—into the fold.

When Clint Eastwood made a movie about the Iraq War, based on the life of the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history, it was bound to court controversy. 2014's "American Sniper" told the story of real-life Navy Seal Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper), who, after being deployed to Iraq, earns the nickname "Legend" for his elite sniping skills. Unfortunately, as the film shows, the enemy soon learns of the "legend" in their midst, which essentially places a big target on Kyle's back.
Insurgents aren't the only challenge he faces. Throughout "American Sniper" we're shown Kyle's experiences in war alongside his life back in the US. His wife, Taya (Sienna Miller), and two children wait for their father to return even as he becomes increasingly focused on his life as a soldier.

Something about the names "John" and "Jack" apparently screams unstoppable action hero. John Wick, Jack Ryan, Jack Reacher ... these are some of the biggest action heroes of the last few years. Extend that timeframe a little and you've got John McClane and Jack Bauer. Go even further and you've got John James Rambo, and that's to say nothing of Jason Bourne and James Bond, who feel very much "John" and "Jack"-adjacent.
Paramount and Skydance tried to throw yet another John into the mix with "Without Remorse," a 2021 action thriller that starred Michael B. Jordan as U.S. Navy Seal John Clark — or John Kelly, as he's known in the film. Born in the pages of military fiction novels by Tom Clancy, Clark shared his origin with Jack Ryan, a character who has been portrayed on screen by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, Chris Pine, and John Krasinski across five films and a streaming series.

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease a theory has surfaced on social media – one that may draw from the traditional soap opera theme of discovering a long-lost child.
The writers of Gh definitely enjoy exploring that storyline, making it understandable why some fans might speculate that yet another long-lost child narrative is forthcoming.
General Hospital Spoilers: A Girl In Every Port?
There is a possibility that Drew could have another son out there somewhere, a love child from a one night stand, the girl in every port scenario since he was a Navy Seal.
Although his late son Oscar Nero (Garren Lake Stitt) was from an apparent actual relationship with Kim Nero (Tamara Braun) one never knows about sailors!
Oddly, Oscar would have been around the same age as Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) is now, since Oscar dated Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) in her first serious relationship.

The 1989 "Batman" film, directed by Tim Burton, is a culturally pivotal movie. Its impact on Batman the character is hard to overstate, but for me, the most important part of the movie's legacy is Danny Elfman's score. His main "Batman" theme is legendary; the images of Batman moving through the shadows and standing atop a skyscraper or gliding above them are now inseparable from Elfman's orchestral horns.
But back in the 20th century, "Batman" movies didn't just have original scores, but tie-in songs from star musicians. Prince recorded a whole album for "Batman," including songs that appear in the movie (even diegetically; the Joker's gang brings a boombox along while trashing an art museum). For "Batman Returns," Elfman teamed up with Siouxsie and the Banshees for the single "Face to Face."

In 2014, director Doug Liman and star Tom Cruise brought us what became known as Cruise's best sci-fi action movie in "Edge of Tomorrow." Three years later, the filmmaker and acting pair re-teamed for a wholly different project that, while it isn't necessarily remembered as one of Cruise's best movies, is easily one of the actor's most fun.
"American Made" saw Cruise play thrill-seeking pilot Barry Seal, who after working for Trans World Airlines (Twa) is recruited by the CIA in the late-70s to fly reconnaissance missions over Central America. Soon, Seal finds himself working for the Medellin Cartel, who ask the pilot to smuggle drugs back into the United States on his return flights, making the former commercial pilot very rich very quickly. Michael B. Jordan took on a role in the Tom Clancy movieWithout Remorse that has mostly gone overlooked, but according to a former Navy Seal, it includes some very realistic fighting scenes. Clancy is best known for writing the Jack Ryan books that ended up being made into movies, starting with The Hunt for Red October. The Jordan movie, Without Remorse, exists in that world.
Without Remorse follows the Jack Ryan supporting character John Kelly (also known as John Clark). In previous movies, Willem Dafoe (Clear and Present Danger) and Liev Schreiber (The Sum of All Fears) portrayed the character, a black ops soldier who will get his hands dirty, so Jack Ryan doesn't have to. However, the Without Remorse novel is mostly an origin story for the character, as he seeks revenge for his wife's murder.

In just two weeks’ time, it will be the 30th anniversary of the release of Batman Forever, the sequel that gave us Val Kilmer’s portrayal of the Dark Knight, the controversial rubber Bat-Nipples and an excuse for everyone in America to buy a CD containing Seal’s “Kiss From a Rose.”
That also means that it’s the 30th anniversary of Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones’ behind-the-scenes drama. Carrey, of course, played Edward Nygma, aka The Riddler, alongside Jones’ Two-Face. In retrospect, it’s amazing that neither of them were hospitalized after ingesting so much scenery.
Back in 1995, Carrey was diplomatic about his working relationship with Jones, telling one interviewer about the “wonderment” he felt about the Oscar winner. “I thought, If he’s a pain in the butt I’ll use it, and if he’s, you know, (a) happy guy, I’ll have a good time,...

The Godfather Casting Battle ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Francis Ford Coppola had a vision for The Godfather, but turning that vision into reality was anything but smooth. According to The Mirror, long before cameras started rolling, the film nearly took shape with a completely different cast. Today, it’s hard to picture anyone other than Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, or Diane Keaton in their roles, but things could have gone very differently.
Al Pacino Was Almost Fired From The Godfather Early In Production
Coppola had to push hard to keep his preferred actors in the film. Alex Garland is considering a reunion with his “Warfare” star Kit Connor for his next project, the upcoming film adaptation of the hit video game “Elden Ring,” produced by A24 and Bandai Namco.

Keanu Reeves found a second life in his career thanks to the John Wick franchise, an over-the-top smorgasbord of violence utilizing gun-fu and various weapon-based action scenes. In the franchise, Reeves plays the titular character, a former assassin for the High Table who finds himself targeted by his former employers for breaking one of their only rules. By John Wick: Chapter 4, the franchise had developed an almost Buster Keaton-styled action format, making some people wonder if anything in the film was realistic.
Reeves worked hard to ensure that he performed many of his own choreographed fight scenes and trained to pull off the moves as best he could. It also helped that director Chad Stahelski is a former stunt double, so he knows what is and isn't possible for these movies' giant action sequences, making it one of the most exciting experiences in film today. War can seem like an overwhelming topic. The victors rewrite conflicts, human lives are reduced to statistics, and conclusions are taken at face value.
So what happens when we zoom in? We start to see the inner workings of the military, a system comprising a group of individual humans doing their best to work as a unified front. We start to understand the way a soldier thinks. We start to understand why a nation's government might want to battle another nation's government. And we start to reckon with the moral grays of war, the blurring of boundaries leading to the blurring of ethics in ways both micro and macro, especially in our post-9/11 conflicts.
On television, these ideas have become prevalent in the 21st century through different sub-genres, attitudes, and levels of self-reflection. If all of this interests you as a viewer, then look no further as we discover the...

Whether he's portraying beloved video game characters in some of the biggest blockbusters of the 2020s so far or appearing in bolder comedies that range from the box office hit "Tropic Thunder" to the overlooked dark comedy "Bernie," Jack Black stands out as a unique Hollywood star. With a career that dates back to the early 1980s, Black has been involved in numerous projects that showcase his signature charm. However, perhaps the most impressive aspect of his long career is through music -- in particular, his collaboration with fellow musician/comedian Kyle Gass with their band, Tenacious D.
Black has showcased his musicianship through many of his films, with his Golden Globe-nominated turn in Richard Linklater's "School of Rock" serving as a crown jewel of his career. Black has also exhibited his musicianship in more surprising ways, particularly in his two roles in the blockbuster video game films, "The Super Mario Bros. Movie...

Commander Emily Shilling served nearly 20 years in the U.S. Navy as a combat aviator with over 60 missions. Fighter pilots are very hard for the military to find, nonetheless. Shilling will be removed from service by Donald Trump’s Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. So will many others, like former Navy Seal Kristin Beck, who served 20 years in Naval Special Warfare, including with Seal Team Six. She earned the Bronze Star with Combat “V,” the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Purple Heart.

Barbra Streisand enlisted Paul McCartney for a duet of his 2011 song “My Valentine.” The intimate track comes off her forthcoming LP, The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two, a collaborative effort that will also feature duets with Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Sting, Hozier, Laufey, Sam Smith, Tim McGraw, Josh Groban, Seal, and Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande.
Streisand teased the song earlier this week, writing on Instagram, “What a joy it was to record ‘My Valentine’ with @paulmccartney. To share time with him in the studio was truly special!”

Like love and marriage, comic book movies and cameos are an institute you cannot disparage. Marvel might be the trailblazer in this regard, finding unique and innovative ways to shoehorn everyone and their uncle into a movie or TV show, but DC isn't immune from turning its audience into a real-life Pointing Rick Dalton meme. Yet, for every great appearance, there's also a flubber -- a moment that flops harder than "Joker: Folie à Deux" did at the box office.
Take a look at 2023's "The Flash" as an example. With all its multiversal potential, minds raced to the infinite possibilities, imagining the chances of seeing Christian Bale's Batman return for a triumphant third act cameo or even seeing Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern fly in for a visit. Instead, it turned into a CGI horrorfest where the tributes to past heroes angered -- rather than captivated -- viewers. It...

Spoiler alert: Details follow for Season 7, Episode 3 of “Game Changer,” which premiered May 5 on Dropout.
The bit-o-meter is dead. The Seal songs have been sung — twice. And three comedians just bared their souls (and navels) in what may be one of the most hilariously heartfelt episodes of “Game Changer” yet.
Season 7, Episode 3 of Dropout’s genre-defying series, titled “Earnest-est,” is a fever dream of vulnerability, theatricality and chaos — the kind that only host and Dropout CEO Sam Reich could mastermind.
This week’s contestants — Ally Beardsley (they/them), Zac Oyama (he/him) and Lisa Gilroy (she/her) — are no strangers to the Dropout universe. But none were prepared for what Sam had in store: a sincerity-based gauntlet where the only way to win was to drop the bits and dig into their tender comic cores.

Bradley Cooper is crediting Christian Bale for inspiring his “American Sniper” performance. Cooper, who co-starred with Bale in David O. Russell’s “American Hustle,” said during the “Howard Stern Show” that he emulated Bale’s acting technique to portray real-life Texas-born Navy Seal Chris Kyle.
Clint Eastwood’s “American Sniper” was released in 2015, two years after Cooper witnessed Bale’s “American Hustle” approach for the 2013 film. Bale famously Method acts, and according to Cooper, it was revolutionary to see how Bale built his performance while staying in character.
“So Christian Bale, I’m doing ‘American Hustle.’ I meet Christian Bale, I’m a big fan. And we’re sitting there, we do the table read,” Cooper said. “He’s from England. He’s Welsh, I think. He’s got his own accent. He’s reading it. He breaks into this guy, Irving Rosenfeld, who’s this Jewish guy from Long Island or the Bronx.

Co-directors Alex Garland and former US Navy Seal Ray Mendoza recreate a 2006 battle with almost unbearable intensity – and a dazzling ensemble cast
It’s up there with the first 23 bruising minutes of Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan or Elem Klimov’s harrowing and relentless Come and See. This is film-making that doesn’t just show you the horrors of war; it forces you to taste the dust and the choking panic, smell the fear and the cordite and the tinny metallic tang of spilled blood. Warfare, by Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza, is the most forceful and unflinching depiction of combat since Edward Berger’s 2023 Oscar-winning All Quiet on the Western Front. It’s also one of the boldest and most formally daring.

In Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza’s brutal and immersive new film, memory informs the events that take place in real time to a unit of soldiers in Iraq
Warfare, Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza’s assiduous new film on a single episode of the American war in Iraq, opens with a title card typical to a war picture: date, location, barebones summary – 11 November 2006, in Ramadi, Iraq. Navy Seal team alpha one is supporting marines in insurgents’ territory. And then one final, unusual detail in place of the standard “based on a true story” – “This film uses only their memories.” The “only” is an ominous indicator: this is a film working against the Hollywood tide to gloss, simplify or narrativize. Warfare, based primarily on Mendoza’s memories of that day as a former Seal, as well as those of fellow soldiers and civilians present, is as much an experiment of translation as a cinematic achievement,...

Alex Garland offered an intriguing take on the current state of the world with the feature Civil War. Yet his latest is, for this viewer, one of his best. Co-directed by Garland and Ray Mendoza, the latter brings this terrifying experience to life. Mendoza offers his experience as a US Navy Seal to blistering heights with this ferociously intense drama. The cast includes Will Poulter, D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai, Joseph Quinn, Noah Centineo, Charles Melton Cosmo Jarvis, and many more. It’s an exceptional and extremely potent feature. The sound and the visuals all feel about as intense as a war film could possibly feel. With Garland’s style and Mendoza’s knowledge, Warfare is one of the most chilling war movies I’ve ever witnessed.

The former US Navy Seal on working alongside the Ex Machina director to produce a war movie that’s as true to life as possible
Ray Mendoza, 45, served for more than 16 years as a US Navy Seal and training instructor before leaving to work as a Hollywood military adviser, specialising in choreographing gunfight sequences for movies including Alex Garland’s Civil War (2024). It’s with Garland that he’s now co-written and co-directed the film Warfare, a claustrophobically immersive account of an ill-fated surveillance mission that he survived in Ramadi province, Iraq, in 2006. Two men, among them Mendoza’s best friend, sniper and medic Elliott Miller, were badly injured by al-Qaida insurgents, and the attack intensified as the Seals sought to evacuate their wounded. The film, described in the New Yorker as “a work of hyper-exacting realism”, opens in the UK on 18 April.
How do you feel about war films in general?...

Alex Garland returns to the war drama genre, but this time sets it during a real war instead of a dystopian future like Civil War. A24’s Warfare is co-directed by Garland along with Iraq War veteran and former Navy Seal Roy Mendoza, who makes his directorial debut. The film is based on Mendoza’s experiences in Iraq, during the Battle of Ramadi.
The film was released this week to mostly positive reviews, with critics praising the craft and set pieces. It stars Will Poulter, D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai, Cosmo Jarvis, Joseph Quinn, and more, as Mendoza’s real-life brothers-in-arms, although only two of them, including Mendoza, came forward with their real identities.
As the film releases this week, fans surely want to know every detail regarding the experience, including whether Alex Garland and Roy Mendoza’s film Warfare has a post-credits scene or not.

Many war films, no matter the location, the feats of heroism, or the bonds that are made amidst the bloodshed, end up being reminiscent of others in the process. You'd be forgiven, then, for making those comparisons before going into "Warfare," the new film from co-directors Alex Garland and former U.S. Navy Seal Ray Mendoza, whose personal experiences are the basis of the movie which, through its nightmarish depiction of its subject matter redefines what makes a war movie in the process. What might come as a surprise, however, is that amidst the chaos and barbarity unfolding around Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, Joseph Quinn, and "Daredevil: Born Again's" Michael Gandolfini, inspiration was found in a 1998 Gwyneth Paltrow-starring rom-com.

Unlike many movies that emphasize bravery or patriotism, this film feels raw and authentic. The characters' reactions are deeply human, capturing the true impact of combat in a way that sets it apart from others in the genre....

Going undercover at a Las Vegas pool party isn’t your typical mission — but then again, the heroes of Obliterated aren’t your typical government agents.
From the trio behind Cobra Kai, Netflix’s opens with a sun-soaked, booze-fueled pool party at Drai’s dayclub, but, as the above sneak peek reveals, several of the partygoers aren’t who they initially appear to be.
They’re actually a multidisciplinary team from several different government branches — CIA, Navy, Nsa — who are tracking a deadly nuclear device that could level the entire city. The squad consists of leader and CIA intelligence officer Ava Winters (Shelley Hennig), tactical lead and Navy Seal Chad McKnight (Nick Zano), fellow Seal Trunk (Terrence Terrell), Marine sniper Angela Gomez (Paola Lázaro), Nsa tech genius Maya Lerner (Kimi Rutledge), bomb-defusing expert Hagerty (C. Thomas Howell), and Air Force pilot Paul Yung (Eugene Kim).

It’s difficult to zero in on just one leading man in Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza’s bracing, fact-based feature “Warfare.” Is it “Reservation Dogs” lead D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai, playing former Navy Seal Mendoza himself? What about perpetual favorite Will Poulter, as Officer in Charge Erik? Maybe Kit Connor as the cherub-cheeked newbie Tommy? How about Charles Melton, Joseph Quinn, or Noah Centineo? Hell, there are so many stars in the film that we had to make a guide to ID all of them.
Yet by the end of this hyper-intense film, when a single-line dedication pops up onscreen, it’s clear who this was for and about. “For Elliott,” we’re told. “Elliott” is former Navy Seal Elliott Miller, played in the film by “Shōgun” and “Lady Macbeth” star Cosmo Jarvis. Over the course of the film — a real-time account of an Iraq War assault, and based on the...

General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease Kim Nero (Tamara Braun) Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) ex and the late Oscar Nero’s (Garren Lake Stitt) mother may return to Port Charles.
Kim may be the only one who can remind Drew who he really is, and get him out of the selfish and conniving cycle that he’s stuck in now.
Kim Knew Drew When He Actually Was A Hero Navy Seal
Kim was Drew’s girlfriend when he actually was a hero Navy Seal, and knows what he used to be-there was a time when he wouldn’t think of associating with the Quartermaines.
When he was in high school in Sawyer, New York, he read about the Quartermaines as well as Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and knew he was his twin.
Kim may know this as well, even though he got shipped off on a mission and was...

Warfare stars Joseph Quinn and Charles Melton were honored to help pay tribute to retired U.S. Navy Seal Elliott Miller on behalf of co-directors Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland.
Mendoza, who’s also a retired Seal himself, previously worked as the military advisor on Garland’s Civil War and contributed to the design of its battle sequences. Along the way, he struck up a friendship with the English filmmaker, before sharing the story of his fellow Seal, Miller, and the rest of their platoon’s evacuation during a 2006 mission in Al Qaeda-controlled territory of Ramadi, Iraq. Upon wrapping Civil War, Garland decided to turn the harrowing account in their follow-up film, anointing Mendoza as co-writer and co-director of Warfare.
Mendoza and Miller’s team of U.S. Navy SEALs, which was regarded as Operation 1, were surveilling a residential neighborhood when they were attacked by neighboring insurgents, gravely wounding Miller (Cosmo Jarvis) and Quinn’s character,...

Alex Garland is keeping things simple when it comes to talking about his new A24 film, Warfare.
The filmmaker, who co-wrote and directed the movie with former U.S. Navy Seal Ray Mendoza — the 95 minutes all recounted from Mendoza’s memory about a specific 2006 mission in Iraq — wants audiences to know that Warfare has no agenda.
“Everything in the film is sourced from first person account and the film is just attempting to accurately recreate it,” Garland said at the film’s U.K. premiere in London Tuesday night. “That neutral approach, I hope, means people can receive this as adults in their own way with whatever they bring, whatever their opinions are on the Iraq war — it doesn’t matter. This is extra information that they can interpret and take from what they will.”
