"I Have To Hang It Up": Original Freddy Krueger Actor Addresses Elm Street Return
Image
Robert Englund knows better than anyone if he'll be returning to the world of A Nightmare on Elm Street as the monstrous Freddy Krueger. Englund has been donning Krueger's hat to haunt dreams and hunt people since Wes craven's original movie was released in 1984. While several other actors, including Michael Bailey Smith, Tobe Sexton, and Jackie Earle Haley, have played the iconic horror genre villain, Englund is the most prominent and the most prolific Krueger actor among them.

Unfortunately, in an interview with Variety, Englund hasexplained that his time as Freddy Krueger is officially over. At 75 years old, the horror veteran has confirmed that his time as the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise villain has come to a close, though he hasn't entirely closed the door on appearing in a new installment. Check out his quote below:

“I’m too old and thick to play Freddy now. I...

Freddy Krueger's Bizarre Real-Life Funeral Explained (& Who Attended)
Image
To promote Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, the producers behind the franchise gave the slasher a bizarre, real-life funeral. Freddy became a pop culture phenomenon shortly after his debut in A Nightmare On Elm Street. With each successive sequel, he became goofier and wackier, byt his novelty wore off. The underwhelming performance of the fifth entry let production company New Line know his popularity had waned and they set up 1991's Freddy's Dead to conclusively wrap up the saga. This saw Freddy's long-lost daughter Katherine learning her heritage and, in a badly-dated 3D finale, blowing him and "ending" his reign of terror.

To promote Freddy's Dead, New Line even staged a high-profile funeral for Freddy at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. As recounted in the documentary Never Sleep Again the funeral featured a casket with Freddy's trademark red and green jumper and hat on top. Director Rachel Talalay and cast were present,...

Offerings
Year: 1989Director: Christopher ReynoldsCast: Loretta Leigh Bowman, Richard A. Buswell, G. Michael Smith, Tobe Sexton

A young boy is picked on as a child and a seemingly innocent child-hood prank ends in disaster when he falls into a well, becoming scarred for life. On the fifteenth anniversary of his accident, he escapes from the local mental ward to get revenge on those involved in his accident and to woo the one girl who was ever really nice to him.

"What's all this I hear about an ear?" It is dialogue like this which makes Offerings, an otherwise blatant and unapologetic Halloween rip-off, a mildly entertaining entry into the 80's slasher genre. The film is such a blatant Halloween rip-off, from everything to the music, to plot elements, and to even how some scenes are shot and framed, it is surprising it ever got green-lit in the first place without worry...
