More specifically, it's a whodunit slasher, the type that carries on the tradition of murder mysteries made famous by Agatha Christie as much as they revel in staging kill scenes. This type of slasher tends to tone down the element of the supernatural as seen in something like John Carpenter's "Halloween," which contains a lot of mysterious goings-on involving its masked killer that can't be easily explained or rationalized. Leighton Meester is speaking out about her Gossip Girl co-star Michelle Trachtenberg’s death for the first time.

Per Netflix, Gossip Girl will be available on the platform starting Oct. 29. It would include all six seasons. The original series followed the lives of upper-class students at a prestigious high school on the Upper East Side, whose lives were chronicled by an unidentified blogger who called themselves "Gossip Girl." A24 has recently released a new trailer for the upcoming horror movie, The Front Room, which will see Brandy Norwood making a return to the horror genre for the first time in 26 years.

The latest entry from A24, is based on the short story written by author Susan Hill, whose work has been adapted for the big screen before. Hill's The Woman in Black was adapted in 2012, and starred Daniel Radcliffe. The Front Room stars Norwood, Kathryn Hunter, Andrew Burnap, and Neal Huff. Per Variety, the official logline says the film, "tells the story of a young, newly pregnant couple who is forced to take in an ailing estranged stepmother." Directing the film will be Sam and Max Eggers, the brothers of Robert Eggers, and are making their directorial debut. Babak Anvari, David Hinojosa, Julia Oh, Lucan Toh and Bryan Sonderman, and Erika Hampson are set to produce.
