In 1941 she graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) in Pittsburgh, PA, where she studied acting.

She was a comedienne, actress, and singer whose long career included radio and TV, commercials, Broadway, and movies.

At age 19 she got a job as an advertising copywriter in New York.

She had two children with her husband, Larry: son, Robert Rhine; and daughter, Vicki.

She died of natural causes at her home in Los Angeles, CA.
