To say that Clint Eastwood is one of the most influential Hollywood stars and directors of all time would undersell the contributions of the star. From Westerns like Hang 'Em High to war movies like Kelly's Heroes, the star has been a symbol of American masculinity and stoic heroism since the 1960s. Looking at his most iconic characters and best films, it's not hard to see why multiple generations looked up to him as a genuine movie legend.
Clint Eastwood's career has seen him take on a variety of genres, but it's hard to deny his Western and action-thriller movies are his most iconic. Whether behind the camera or on the big screen, his films have given audiences a long line of hard-boiled heroes, skilled detectives and grizzled gunslingers. Ranging across genres, he has too many brilliant movies to count, but some are as close to perfect as it gets.

Clint Eastwood was one of the biggest movie stars of the 1970s and had several career-defining roles throughout this decade. Coming off his breakout success as The Man with No Name in Sergio Leones Dollars Trilogy during the 1960s, Eastwood would not slow down in the following decade as he branched out into action movies, comedies, dramas, and thrillers. With an unmatched onscreen charisma and a tough-guy reputation, Eastwoods 1970s filmography may just be the perfect encapsulation of his entire career.
In the 1970s, Eastwood continued to play tough Western gunslingers and even led a brand new franchise as Inspector Harry Callahan in the Dirty Harry series. While this decade saw some extraordinary highs, it also featured several low points as some comedies and action releases failed to make the same impact as his greatest works. A true icon of the 1970s and beyond, Eastwood even carved out a second...

Clint Eastwood may have been made by the western, but he has certainly not been defined solely by it. His work over the years has crossed multiple genres, from horror films like Play Misty For Me to romances like The Bridges Of Madison County. Despite his ability to play in a variety of different genres, Eastwood has proved time and time again that he is made for action movies. While Eastwood's Western movies may prove some of his best, they are certainly not all he has to offer.
Having worked with greats of the action genre such as Don Siegel and Wolfgang Peterson, Eastwood has had a style of action film practically built around him. It is not just his Western shootouts that are remarkable. Never one to rely on heavy stunts and choreography, the language of his action films is unique. His stern demeanor and large frame prove perfect as an immovable force,...

According to GiantFreakinRobot, Tom Cruise is rumoured to star in a remake of Clint Eastwood’s The Gauntlet, which Christopher McQuarrie will direct. Other scoopers, such as EmpireCity, have added that Scarlett Johansson will be starring alongside Cruise, which would mark the first time the two actors have worked together.
Nothing has been officially announced, so take all of this with a grain of salt for now, but both Tom Cruise and Scarlett Johansson have previously stated that they would love to work together. At the premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Cruise was certain that it would happen. “Look, I’ve watched her career her whole life,” Cruise said. “She’s enormously talented, very charismatic. It’d be fun. She could do everything. She could do comedy, drama, action, suspense. She’s someone that really draws you in on the screen, on camera. So absolutely, it’s gonna happen.

Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry became one of the defining film characters of the '70s, but with The Gauntlet, the star set out to play Harry's total opposite. Following the surprise success of the Dollars trilogy, it took Eastwood a few years to become an A-list actor in America. He sealed the deal with the success of 1971's Dirty Harry, a tough thriller about a San Francisco cop obsessively chasing after a serial killer. The film connected in a major way with audiences, but also attracted controversy for its perceived endorsement of police brutality. The film was such a hit it spawned four Dirty Harry sequels.
The film also established a template for future Eastwood star vehicles like The Eiger Sanction. One of his biggest successes outside of the Dirty Harry films was 1977's The Gauntlet. This saw his Detective Ben Shockley escorting a sex worker named "Gus" Mally...

You have two films which are being shown at Horror-on-Sea. On Friday you had the first film Judge. What was it like having the film on screen and what was the crowd reaction like?
Keith – It’s always good a) having the film on the big screen and b) see it with an audience, that is why we do this I think. It was really good, this is the first time I have seen Judge since we filmed it, so I’d not seen it. Mike Tack did a really good job of editing and putting it together and the crowd reaction was really good. We got lots of comments following it and Mike actually asked us to come in our characters costumes. Myself and Ben Shockley who was in the film with me and Bandit who was the dog in his judge costume as well,...

The United Kingdom really has a fascination with youth gangs, as several film have been made in this genre in recent years e.g. Harry Brown, Shank, and the upcoming Sket. This time the chavs get chased like foxes, in the English countryside in Stealth Media Group's Manor Hunt Ball. Billed as: "the ultimate class war!" Manor Hunt Ball is currently in pre-production throughout the United Kingdom. Get set to see a group of rowdy ruffians turned into pulp, as they try to escape a "high-class party" for upper class gentry (Stealth), in just a few months.
Tagline: "The ultimate class war!"
The synopsis for Manor Hunt Ball:
"A gang of local youths crash a high-class party at a country manor where they discover that the modern gentry are now hunting people instead of foxes. Running for their lives the gang must find a means of escape before...

Richard O'Brien, Rupert Penry-Jones, Sean Pertwee, Philip Davis, Martin Compston, Craig Conway, Jason Maza, Paul Reynolds, Chris Carey, John Rackham and Ben Shockley have all been cast in Stealth media Group's Manor Hunt Ball, which is now in pre-production. Directed by Ross Boyask, "A gang of local youths crash the high society party of the year, only to find that the modern gentry have taken to hunting the working class for sport.
