Trailer for Comedy '2 Minutes of Fame' with Jay Pharoah & Keke Palmer
Keke Palmer
"Maybe the time spent there chasing your dreams is better off spent here, chasing a paycheck." Lionsgate has released a trailer for a comedy titled 2 Minutes of Fame, formerly known as #TwoMinutesofFame (oh do I hate hashtag film titles and I'm glad they changed this one). The film is about a wannabe comedian who becomes internet famous after making impressions of another comedian. He heads to La to try and achieve greater fame, but ends up in the cross-hairs of the veteran stand-up comic who "plots a rude—and hilarious—awakening for Deandre." Jay Pharaoh stars as Deandre, with Keke Palmer as his girlfriend, and a cast including Katt Williams, RonReaco Lee, Kimrie Lewis, and Valery M. Ortiz. This looks solid, with good humor, but also some key lessons to learn about family, life, success, and fame. Might be worth a look. Stars: Vince Swann, Barry Bostwick, Michael Jai White, Laila Odom, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Lindsay Lamb, Melanie Loren, Gary Owen, Affion Crockett, Brandon Hirsch, Tyler Crumley, Zac Zedalis, Steven Lee Johnson | Written by Ian Edwards, Stephen Mazur | Directed by Leslie Small

Universal 1440 Entertainment, Universal’s direct to DVD production arm, mine old film franchises once again for a sequel to the Eddie Griffin 2002 blaxploitation comedy Undercover Brother… and you thought a sequel to Benchwarmers was unexpected! Though given we’ve already had new sequels to Kindergarten Cop, Daddy Day Care, the aforementioned Benchwarmers, Cop and a Half, Honey, Bring it On and – get this – even Backdraft; a sequel to Undercover Brother, something of a minor hit back in the day, isn’t that much a surprise. Hell, it beats getting yet Another sequel to The Scorpion King!

Michael Jai White and Melanie Loren in Undercover Brother 2 (2019)
Undercover Brother 2 Trailer: Michael Jai White Is the Coolest Spy in the Game
Michael Jai White and Melanie Loren in Undercover Brother 2 (2019)
We have a new trailer for Undercover Brother 2, which is probably an assortment of words nobody expected to find themselves reading today. Indeed, Universal Pictures has pulled something of a fast one on all of us by putting together this direct-to-video sequel to its 2001 predecessor rather quietly. Though, it seems to be a sequel mostly in name only, as we've got an entirely new cast, with Michael Jai White as our new titular hero.

The trailer is admittedly brief, clocking in at just 30 seconds, which is normally what we can expect from a TV spot. But this appears to be a very small budget, low-key affair. Though, for those familiar with the 2002 movie, many of the same elements are at play here. We've got the organization known as The Brotherhood, who are tasked with trying to take down The Man. It's all coated in 70s sheen and layers of cheese.

How Director Tim Story Helped Kevin Hart Come Up With the Idea for ‘What Now?’
Kevin Hart
When Kevin Hart was brainstorming ideas for his third concert film, “Kevin Hart: What Now?,” “Ride Along” director Tim Story was the person he turned to. “He told me to come to the first show which was in San Antonio, Texas, and I saw his intro, which was a 007 thing and I said, ‘Why don’t we expand on that? A spoof of James Bond,” Story told TheWrap he suggested to the comedian. “Kevin Hart: What Now?” is based on the actor’s 2015 comedy stand up tour. Leslie Small directed the comedy portion of the film, while Story helmed the skit of the.

Kevin Hart: What Now? Review
At their best, comedians serve as modern-day philosophers, shaping the culture by reflecting it back at audiences with just the right balance of truth and humor. It’s why the work of people like George Carlin and Richard Pryor has sustained such lasting appeal for decades. Their comedy isn’t so much a series of jokes as it is a social commentary on issues like sex, politics, and religion, all of which are at the very core of who we are as individuals and as a society. However, not all comedians aim for such lofty goals with their material, opting instead for a more observational, story-based approach. This is precisely what moviegoers are in for with Kevin Hart: What Now?

While Hart’s comedy might not dig as deep as his aforementioned forefathers, this new concert film – the comedian’s third such big-screen release after 2011’s Laugh at My...

'Kevin Hart: What Now?': Film Review
Kevin Hart
Stand-up sensation Kevin Hart may enjoy making self-deprecating jokes about his height, but the diminutive star has no insecurities about his commercial appeal: The very name of his "What Now?" comedy tour seems to lament that there are no worlds left to conquer, and indeed, Leslie Small's new performance doc finds him in an unprecedented setting — selling out a football stadium in his hometown, Philadelphia. A more natural performance than the one captured in his previous Let Me Explain, if not one for the ages, this hyped outing will delight fans and, given Hart's increasing exposure in

Kevin Hart: What Now? Trailer Is A Genre Mash-Up Unlike Any Other
Few would argue that Kevin Hart is currently one of the biggest comedians on the planet. He’s also made a sizeable impact on Hollywood thanks to roles across Ride Along 2 and Central Intelligence, not to mention voice work on The Secret Life of Pets. Blending those two worlds together is upcoming documentary Kevin Hart: What Now?, a genre mash-up that asks the question: just how did Hart and his team orchestrate a performance at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field in front of a capacity crowd. That’s an eye-watering 50,000 people, setting a new record for live stand-up.

Leslie Small and Tim Story are the directors at the helm of Kevin Hart: What Now?, with today’s reveal spoofing everything from James Band and the world of espionage to tentpole Hollywood blockbusters in the style of World War Z (see the first poster below).
