Exclusive: Vmi Worldwide has boarded sales on Hollywood Heist starring Alec Baldwin and Nick Cannon.

Vmi will introduce the film to buyers in Cannes.

From debut feature director Mike Hatton, Hollywood Heist also stars Til Schweiger, Tara Reid, and Paul Sloan. The film follows a Hollywood power agent (Cannon) trying to land an actor (Baldwin) by telling the story of his client, a movie producer (Hatton), along with a washed-up movie star pal (Sloan), as they race against time to save their latest production. This comes after the project’s bank account is wiped clean by a thief, leading to an onslaught of negotiations with famous actors, drug lords, and death.

Hatton penned the script with Sloan and is producing under his Ton of Hats banner alongside Akopyan, who is producing for Oscar Gold Productions. Ton of Hats and Oscar Gold financed the feature. Cannon is executive producing in association with his Ncredible Entertainment.

Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard Segel’s Storyboard Media has begun talks with buyers here on the action thriller Wages Of Sin with Danny Trejo.

Paul Sloan from Green Book stars in the film alongside Trejo, whose credits include Machete and From Dusk Till Dawn, and Jeremy Luke from The Irishman.

The Los Angeles-set story centres on a man who gets framed for a crime and is targeted by a criminal fentanyl enterprise.

Victor Rios makes his directorial debut for 333 Pictures and Boatyard Productions and Stephen Cyrus Sepher wrote the screenplay.

One day after New Mexico authorities announced they were dropping the involuntary manslaughter charge against Alec Baldwin, Deadline is reporting that Baldwin has landed a new film role.

Prosecutors charged Baldwin in January over his role in the tragic accidental shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of “Rust” in 2021.

According to Deadline, Baldwin has reportedly signed on to star in “Hollywood Heist”, the directorial debut of “Green Book” actor Mike Hatton, and production has already wrapped.

Alec Baldwin is confirmed to be co-starring alongside controversial members of Hollywood in upcoming meta comedy “Hollywood Heist.”

Just one day after the criminal charges against Baldwin were dropped over the fatal “Rust” shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, the Oscar winner announced he will be playing a fictionalized version of himself opposite Nick Cannon, Mickey Rourke, and Tara Reid.

“Hollywood Heist” marks Mike Hatton’s feature directorial debut, and follows a power agent (Cannon) who is trying to land an actor (Baldwin) by telling him that a movie producer (Hatton) and washed up actor (Paul Sloan) are trying to save their production after their bank account was robbed. Billed as a “meta” film inspired by true events, per Deadline, Baldwin, Rourke, and Reid are playing exaggerated versions of themselves. Exclusive: One day after New Mexico dropped criminal charges against Rust actor and producer Alec Baldwin in the tragic on-set death of Dp Halyna Hutchins, Deadline has learned that the Oscar nominee and multi-Emmy winner is set to star in Mike Hatton’s feature directorial debut, Hollywood Heist.

The news comes the same day a resurrected Rust began shooting in Montana with Baldwin return to star and produce, and Joel Souza continuing at the helm.

The comedy crime caper, which also stars Nick Cannon, Mickey Rourke, Paul Sloan, Til Schweiger and Tara Reid, was shot in Las Vegas and Majorca, Spain, and finished principal photography in Los Angeles last week.

Anyone remember From Paris With Love? Director Pierre Morel followed up the 2008 Liam Neeson hit Taken with a similarly enjoyable, although less critically well received, action movie in 2010 which starred a shaven headed John Travolta as Charlie Wax. And while it was less successful and entertaining than Taken, From Paris With Love was still good fun.

So in theory then, given Travolta is – or at least was – capable of convincingly taking part in a action movie I had reasonable expectations for his latest film I Am Wrath. Now, there will undoubtedly be endless commentary about the tediousness of the ‘Family Man Out For Revenge’ trope that is relentlessly rolled out every time an aging actor needs a career boost, but here’s the thing – inexplicably, it often works.

It worked for Liam Neeson with Taken, it worked for Keanu Reeves with John Wick. It even, sort of, worked for Kevin Costner in Three Days To Kill. For all its terrible, predictable flaws, it is possible for this well-worn narrative to succeed – given the right actor, with the right material. Will that be the case with I Am Wrath though? Sloan and Sesma co-wrote the story about a team of black-ops agents turned crime-fighters on the trail of two super-spies determined to plunge the world into chaos.

Vigilante Diaries began as a web series that premiered at Comic-con and ran on Machinima’s digital channel through a partnership with the Wme-owned Chill.com.

Sesma and Hatton used the original series as a reel to sell executive producer Akopyan on the concept and incorporated short clips of it into the final film as an origin story.

Amanda Schull has joined the cast of I Am Wrath.

The 12 Monkeys actress will star alongside John Travolta in the action thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

After literally becoming Nicolas Cage in Face/Off, now John Travolta will be replacing the actor in the action thriller I Am Wrath. The film was previously in the hands of William Friedkin with Cage in the starring role, but The Wrap reports Eraser and The Mask helmer Chuck Russell behind the camera working from a script by Paul Sloan based on a story by Yvan Gauthier. That sounds like a considerable downgrade, but Travolta hasn't been doing much when it comes to quality films lately, so that's not surprising. In the film, he plays a man out for justice after corrupt cops are unable to catch his wife’s killer. It sounds like Travolta is trying to have his very own Taken, but considering we've gotten too much of that kind of thriller since the first Liam Neeson-starring vehicle hit theaters, I'm not filled with any anticipation. John Travolta is in talks to star in the action-thriller I Am Wrath for Patriot Pictures and director Chuck Russell (Eraser). While no deal has been finalized yet, the producers are already seeking supporting actors to join John Travolta. Back in September 2012, Nicolas Cage and director William Friedkin were attached to the project, although it never moved forward.

The story centers on a man (John Travolta) who becomes frustrated with the local police when they fail to find his wife's killer. He uncovers massive corruption within the department, and becomes a vigilante who swears to take down these crooked cops. Paul Sloan wrote the screenplay based on an original story by Yvan Gauthier.

Production is scheduled to begin next month in Columbus, Ohio. John Travolta is also attached to play O.J. Simpson's defense attorney Robert Shapiro in the FX series American Crime Story, but that will shoot after he wraps on I Am Wrath.

eOne Picks Up ‘The Silent Mountain’, ‘The Night Crew’ Entertainment One Films U.S. has taken North American rights to romantic drama The Silent Mountain and U.S. rights to action-thriller The Night Crew. Both films will be released by eOne via all home entertainment platforms. Directed by Ernst Gossner and written by Clemens Aufderklamm, The Silent Mountain stars William Moseley, Claudia Cardinale and Fritz Karl in the story of a young Austrian soldier in World War I who fights his way through the Alps to rescue his Italian girlfriend and escape the impending explosion that will rock the mountain. Bounty hunters and cartel killers have invaded Palm Springs, as production begins on The Night Crew, just one of the many projects that Danny Trejo is slated to star in this year. Trejo is working again with director Christian Sesma; they worked together on Shoot The Hero. For that matter so are some of the film's other stars, Luke Goss and Bokeem Woodbine. Other regulars include Jason Mewes and Paul Sloan. Luciana Faulhaber was born the youngest to a single mom in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil where she quickly learned to fend for herself. After moving to New York to study upon receiving full academic scholarship to Fordham University, she would eventually take a job teaching underprivileged kids and those with special needs until she was summoned by the universe to the arts. Faulhaber would appear in Iron Man 3 and shot for Vogue Italia before she would be cast in The Night Crew by filmmaker Christian Sesma (Check out 'I'm Not Like That No More'). The actioner about a group of rag tag bounty hunters features Luke Goss (Hellboy 2), Bokeem Woodbine (Southland), co-writer Paul Sloan and Machete himself Danny Trejo where according to Sesma, “lots of sh*t get's blown up”. LatinoBuzz spoke to the carioca about her work and her role as 'Rose'.

LatinoBuzz: When did the acting thing hit you? And why do you Have to do this?

Luciana: I always kept creative through childhood and college. My parents have always been supportive of the arts as a hobby. So I went on to have a serious degree and become a teacher. One day the father of one of my students walks by my classroom and asked if I wanted to be in a commercial. I joked and said "why not? Have you seen my salary?" It turned out to be a national commercial which got me into the actors union. I remembered getting that letter unexpectedly from SAG in the mail and I couldn't remember the last time I was that happy. Next day I decide to join a conservatory acting school at nights after work and ended up being taught by the brilliant Bill Esper. Six months later my life was upside down. I called it quits on the job, the ivy league graduate degree and the picket fence life that was never for me. That was truly a new beginning.

LatinoBuzz: Something I always ask, what does being Latina in this industry mean to you? What do you want to see more from Latinos in film?

Luciana: T here is a difference between Latinos in film and films about Latinos. The Latino population is reaching a 50% mark in the make up of America and we buy more movie tickets than any other ethnic group. That should be represented on screen. As a teacher I learned that most of this Latino generation is an English speaker, general classroom educated, who dream of being more than the stereotypical maid and drug dealers we end up representing on screen. That is old news. It's time the industry catches up. This is an era of a the Latino generation that is in search of that American dream. Latinos are everywhere, in every profession, and that should be reflected on the screen. I would like to see a time where we wouldn't just fill a quota but be considered for any role.

LatinoBuzz: Tell me about your role in The Night Crew.

Luciana: I play 'Rose' in The Night Crew. She is the only female member of the 'Crew' and fits in like one of the boys. Rose is a true fighter. She is tough, relentless and keeps the boys in check so expect lots of action and gun play from this one. But Rose also has another side of her that is feminine and womanly which she keeps guarded and protected until she falls in love with one of the crew members. For the sake of the Crew they try to keep those feelings at bay but love must always prevail. At least I believe so and fortunately so does Paul Sloan and Christian Sesma the writers of The Night Crew. I got really lucky with this character. She gets to show all sides of the same person and there is nothing more human than that. I can't get over how blessed I am to be working with this team. Christian Sesma, A.J Rickert-Epstein and Luke Goss are just a brilliant team. It has been a wonderful learning and collaborative experience and indie film gives you space for that.

LatinoBuzz: I remember that it was a short window from audition to shooting The Night Crew. How did you adjust?

Luciana: Yes! The phone call was quite a surprise. I was ready to hop on a plane to spend Thanksgiving with my amazing American family at Plow Farms in Plowville, Pa when it happened. This is where we will be shooting our feature Don't Look next year. We successfully Kickstarted for. I canceled the same morning I was suppose to fly out and jokingly told Christian he took me off the plane. It was the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me. Then I called Mama Brenda, my sis Lindsay and my family in Brazil to tell them all the good news. The hardest part was to be good on Thanksgiving and not jump on the delicious meal my friends cooked up for us. I was so excited I barely slept those few days before we hit the road to Palm Springs where we are shooting now.

LatinoBuzz: You have to pick a director, co-star and story. Go!

Luciana: Oh man that is so hard! The list would go on and on. I was so lucky this year to work with people like my amazing friend Shane Black and Robert Downey Jr, Ben Kingsley, Alec Smight, Ted Danson, Georgia Fox, George Eads and now Christian Sesma, Danny Trejo, Luke Goss, Bokeem Woodbine and Paul Sloan. I am over the moon and to them I would like to say thank you for being part of my journey. In the hopes this lucky streak continues, I would love to work with people like Wes Anderson, Jose Padilha, Quentin Tarantino and James Wan.

These guys have such an unique style I think would be a wonderful and freeing experience. Now in terms of co-stars this might make me sound like a big nerd but I would have loved to dance with Fred Astaire and dream of finding love in a black and white picture. I also want to make movies in Brazil. We are expanding in talent, experience and opportunity and I want to be part of telling the stories of my people. Brazilians are amongst the top 5 highest immigration groups here in America.

LatinoBuzz: What's your theme song? (And it can't be 'Girl from Ipanema'!)

Luciana: I have one for each moment just like a movie. But I particularly enjoy music that carries a female voice. Girl power stuff really. Lorde's last album is one I have played a bunch this year and Taylor Swifts (Red) has played everyday this year (I do love her stuff, 'have to admit!). I also love the indie stuff with Vampire Weekend, Phoenix and other bands a such. However, what I like most is discovering new music and I'm lucky some of my friends are amazing at it like Kaylin Lee Clinton. Her new album Painted Road is also on repeat on my list.

LatinoBuzz: “Five years from now Luciana will be...”

Luciana: A household name. Making multiple movies a year, on a TV show, doing more charity work to use her powers for good. Having her mom and sis here whenever they missed each other. Then she gets to go home to her family: the love of her life, Spike the dog and a kid or two. That to me would be having it all!

A Resurrection Release Details: “Archstone Distribution announces the VOD, Digital Download and DVD release of A Resurrection from Writer/Director Matt Orlando (Barbershop). The film stars Mischa Barton (Fox’s “The Oc”), Devon Sawa (CW’s “Nikita”) Jonathan Michael Trautmann (96 Minutes) and the late Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile). Nicolas Cage is one step closer to committing some awesome mentally unhinged murders. Last month, the actor signed onto the project I Am Wrath, but at the time, no director was in place. French Connection helmer William Friedkin was reportedly mulling it over as a potential next vehicle, but his commitment was far from a guarantee. Over the last three weeks, however, he.s reportedly moved a whole lot closer to committing. According to Deadline, the deal is basically done, and the project should begin filming in February using a script written by Paul Sloan. It.ll see Cage play a damaged man grieving over his wife.s murder who loses it when the cops refuse to catch the killers. After some digging, he discovers a cesspool of kickbacks, corruption and shady business deals and decides he.s the man who should make those involved pay for abusing their power.

Exclusive: When Deadline revealed in Toronto that Emmett/Furla Films had set Nicolas Cage for the action thriller I Am Wrath, we told you that William Friedkin was circling to direct the project. I’m hearing that Friedkin is pretty much committed to do the film. Friedkin, who has helmed some of the great action crime thrillers – To Live And Die In La and The French Connection – will make this his follow-up to Killer Joe. Following the murder of his wife, Stanley (Cage) finds that the police are unable to catch the perpetrators. He uncovers a thick plot of police corruption and realizes that he will have to find justice on his own. I don't think there's any question that Nicolas Cage is the hardest working man in Hollywood right about now. Well, okay, maybe hardest working is the wrong way to put it... "most often working" is more like it. The man seems to be churning out movies at a rate of 3 or 4 per year with a never ending stream of upcoming projects that he is attached to.
