Find Me Falling Review: Netflix's Latest Rom-Com Overcomes Its Conveniences By Keeping It Simple
Image
Warning: This review mentions suicide

Find Me Falling celebrates new beginnings and missed opportunities with a basic love story. The film's charm comes from its focus on small island culture, family dynamics, and music. Despite some limitations with character depth, the solid performances and beautiful cinematography make it a decent watch.

Stelana Kilris feel-good romantic comedy, Find Me Falling (2024) , honors new beginnings from missed opportunities. The writer-director brought in inspiration from a real-life story of a generous Australian man who would save strangers from their suicide attempts. Combining that with a basic love story that celebrates small island culture, family, and music, the Netflix rom-com is a bag full of many tricks. Though there are limitations with certain character depth, Find Me Falling overcomes its hurdles to make for a decent singular watch. With solid performances and beautiful cinematography, this gorgeous feature does just enough to grab your attention.

No doubt it will be good for the Cyprus tourist bureau.

Connick plays a fading rock star, John Allman, who has moved to the island to escape his life and his past celebrity, but instead runs smack into it when he reconnects with an old flame, the love of his life whom he...

Alex Herron
Leave - Jennie Kermode - 18345
Alex Herron
Cross-cultural misunderstandings about in Alex Herron’s atmospheric fable about a young woman looking for her roots in a far-off land. A thriller dressed up as a horror film, perhaps to please Shudder, Leave is the first serious venture into fiction for the director, who is best known for his music videos – and, indeed, it uses the black metal scene as a backdrop in places.
