'The Office' Cast Has a Group Chat And This Is Who Is the Most Unhinged
Image
The Officeis a beloved adaptation of the UK sitcom from Greg Daniels and Mike Schur. While the series ended back in 2013, the last 12 years have been filled with fans missing their favorite show and wanting to get to see their favorite characters again and again. To help fill the gap that the show left, stars Angela Kinsey and Jenna Fischer have made a podcast about the show to talk about it. Named Office Ladies, both Kinsey and Fischer will rewatch episodes, give fans exclusive behind the scenes stories, and more. And that's how we know who is the biggest jokester in the group chat.

While talking with People recently, Kinsey shared that Rainn Wilson, who played Dwight K. Schrute on the series is the one who checks in the most while Creed Bratton is a bit random. “Interestingly enough, I feel like Rainn [Wilson] checks in the most, which is very sweet,...

Image
In the six years since Season 2 of Netflix’s sci-fi drama, The Oa, came to an end, fans have been vocally desperate for more. The truly one-of-a-kind series went where no other production had gone in the past — or even in the days since. And, with an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 84% from critics and 83% from audiences, it’s no wonder why The Oa’s following is still pushing for answers when it comes to the title’s future.

Last weekend, during Fan Expo Denver, Collider’s Maggie Lovitt moderated a panel that featured Isaacs, during which he not only shared his praise for the gone-too-soon series, but also promised fans that there would be...

“That Story Cannot End There”: 'The Oa' Gets Surprising Update From Jason Isaacs
Image
While most streaming services get a bad reputation for canceling fan-favorite shows like Westworld, The Winchesters, and Mindhunter, Netflix gets it even worse for canceling fan-favorite shows in their infancy. Sometimes, fan backlash can save a show from getting canceled outright, either by it getting a smaller final season like Superman & Lois, or getting shopped to another platform. In most cases, however, the series stays dead. But that isn’t the case for The Oa.

Six years ago, the sci-fi series was unceremoniously canceled by Netflix, and fans weren’t happy. The series, co-created by Brit Marlingand Zal Batmanglij, was widely loved by fans for a gripping plot, supernatural elements, and fantastical yet grounded storytelling. Its cancellation also left fans on a major cliffhanger at the end of Season 2. But it seems that the creators are quite adamant about finishing their story as Jason Isaacs, who played antagonist Dr. Hunte,...

Netflix's 'The Oa' Gets Surprise Season 3 Update From Jason Isaacs
Image
The Oa, the sci-fi mystery by Netflix, is one of the streamer's signature genre shows, even if it hasn't been in the spotlight lately. Created by Zal Batmanglij and Brit Marling, the latter of whom also plays the lead, The Oa was a bit polarizing with audiences upon release, but the critical reception was always good. Season 2 was very well-received too, but it surprisingly got canceled months after the premiere. Since 2019, fans have been pleading for its return, and now star Jason Isaacs has offered a promising update that will give fans something to be excited about.

"We will not let it go," Isaacs said about The Oa when talking to Jo Whiley on her podcast. As reported by Comic Book, Isaacs appeared on the podcast and addressed the Netflix fan-favorite released in 2016. Isaacs plays Hap in the show, which also features actors like Emory Cohen, Phyllis Smith, Brandon Perea,...

'Maybe He Shouldn't [Come Back]': Inside Out Star Addresses Bing Bong's Absence in the Sequel
Image
Richard Kind, the voice of Bing Bong in the Inside Out franchise, has explained why his character wasn't present in the recent sequel. He spoke about the character, playing the role, and why Bing Bong didn't need to come back for Inside Out 2.

Per Screen Rant, Kind revealed that he actually has connections with Pixar Cco and director Pete Docter, but he didn't feel the need to use them to reprise his role. "There's one thing I don't do is ask friends for work, or even intimate friends for work. So, when I wasn't in Inside Out 2, it was all fine, and I couldn't have been there, because it would have been a false reality," Kind said. "We all know what happened to Bing Bong."

The first Inside Out film, which starred Amy Poehler as Joy and Phyllis Smith as Sadness, saw the emotions teaming up with Bing Bong,...

Bing Bong's Inside Out 2 Absence Gets Honest Explanation From Pixar Star: "It Would Have Been A False Reality"
Image
Exclusive: Richard Kind addresses his absence from Inside Out 2, explaining why he feels Bing Bong not returning for the sequel ultimately benefited the franchise's journey so far. Kind's imaginary friend was a key character of the 2015 Pixar animated feature, being the long-forgotten companion of Riley whom Joy (Amy Poehler) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) stumble across on their journey back to Headquarters. The 2024 sequel focuses its attention on Riley's existing Emotions as they grapple with some new Emotions joining their ranks.

While Kind sat down to discuss his appearance in Poker Face season 2 with Screen Rant, the actor revealed why he found himself omitted from Inside Out 2. Though the actor is on good terms with Pixar Cco and director Peter Docter, Kind not only had no desire to use his connections to join the cast but felt it could lessen the character's impact. Check out Kind's full response below:

‘Inside Out 3’ Might Happen According to Authors, but Disney Is Keeping Quiet for Now
Image
The Inside Out franchise may not be finished just yet. Inside Out 2 director Kelsey Mann and producer Mark Nielsen recently talked about the film at the Critics’ Choice Awards, hinting that there’s plenty of potential for another sequel.

‘This world is so rich. You can go down so many roads,’ Nielsen told. ‘There are so many emotions to explore. There are further stages in Riley’s life. You never know.’ That sounds promising, but before you get too excited, he also admitted that there’s nothing officially in the works yet.

‘So Popular’: Wooing Oscar voters with candles, candy, clothes and more

Blueberry pie-scented candles (Heretic). Emotion-themed Sugarfina candy boxes (Inside Out 2). Shiz University sweatshirts (Wicked).

'I Had to Sell the Studio on It': Inside Out 2 Director Recalls Their Unique Approach to the Movie
Image
Inside Out 2 appealed to a wider audience as a relatable, coming-of-age story. Director Kelsey Mann credited their success to the teenagers who consulted on the movie.

Director Kelsey Mann explained why Inside Out 2 resonated with audiences of all ages; the film explored the timeless theme of change through an adolescent's growing pains. "We want to make a movie that the whole family can enjoy, regardless of your age," he told Variety. "We all tried to dig into our own experiences. It started with me alone in a room looking at my own life and what it was like to be that age." 10 Best Animated Movies Of 2024
Image
As the last week of December approaches and viewers prepare for the upcoming animated movies of 2025, it's time to look back at the past year for the best animated movies of 2024. While a recent update about the release window of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-verse, the current most-anticipated animated movie, practically confirms that there won't be a release date for another 2 years, 2024 has still been very exciting for animation, with the release of sequels to many beloved franchises.

Every animated movie released in 2024 didn't make as big a stir in the box office or among critics as they were supposed to, but there have been some noteworthy surprise hits. While Kung Fu Panda, Inside Out, Moana, and Despicable Me got anticipated sequels, the Transformers franchise branched out into animation, and The Wild Robot got critical and commercial success beyond what anyone had imagined it would.

2024 Helped Disney Get Success Again as It Reached an Important Box Office Milestone
Image
2024 might not have been the biggest year for cinema, but it offered Disney a success story. Following a disappointing 2023, a year the House of Mouse celebrated its 100th anniversary, Disney is now ruling other studios again.

Per Deadline, Disney has reached a major milestone as it became the only studio to reach $2 billion at the domestic box office. Last year, Disney had a string of celebratory films for its 100th anniversary, including Wish, The Haunted Mansion, Pixar's Elemental, and Marvel's Ant-Man and the Quantumania and The Marvels, as well as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Unfortunately, last year registered more losses for Disney, but 2024 came with a lot of magic.

Dream Productions Reimagines Several Common Sleep Occurrences - And Makes Them Extra Horrifying
Image
Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Dream Productions.Dream Productions takes several normal dream occurrences and makes them surprisingly frightening. The four-episode Disney+ series is set between Inside Out and Inside Out 2 and builds on the concept of Dream Productions that was introduced in the first movie. Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), and the other original emotions are in the series, but Dream Productions' cast of characters most prominently features dream directors Paula Persimmon (Paula Pell) and Xeni (Richard Ayoade), who are forced to work together.

Seasoned director Paula clashes with the young and ambitious daydream director Xeni, as they have polar opposite ideas about the kinds of dreams that are best for Riley (Kensington Tallman). Their conflict, and how Dream Productions' leader, Jean Dewberry (Maya Rudolph) attempts to correct course, leads to nearly disastrous results that unfold in Dream Productions' ending. While the worst-case scenario is ultimately averted,...

Pixar's Inside Out Spinoff Sets New Disney+ Viewership Record
Image
Inside Out continues to be a huge hit on Disney+. The newest entry in the Pixar franchise, Dream Productions, has just achieved a major viewership milestone on the streaming service.

Per Deadline, Disney is reporting that the first episode of Dream Productions received 5.6 million views globally in the first five days of viewing, making it the biggest animated series premiere on Disney+ since Marvel Studios' What If…? in 2021. The viewership is also higher than the series premiere of Marvel's well-received animated revival, X-Men '97, which received 4 million views in five days. However, Dream Productions's 5.6M views are nowhere close to the 30.5M views that Inside Out 2 drew on Disney+ during its first five days of availability. ‘The Office’s Bob Vance Weighs In on Whether or Not He’s the Scranton Strangler
Image
Bob Vance was one of the more mysterious characters on The Office. While he originally seemed like an affable blue-collar guy who loved to plug his business whenever he introduced himself — “Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration” — as more details emerged about Phyllis’ husband, the darker the character became.

In one episode, Phyllis (Phyllis Smith) admitted that she and Bob liked to go out to bars, wait for men to hit on her and then have Bob beat them up. Meanwhile, at their wedding, a dead-eyed Bob threatened Steve Carell’s Michael Scott with a similar kind of menace. There was also a reference to a grand jury investigation of Bob, and, of course, some seemingly coordinated Pretzel Day shenanigans between him and Phyllis.

Clearly, Bob had flexible morals that have caused the Office fandom to speculate whether he was in the mafia, or maybe even the infamous “Scranton Strangler.”

What does Bob himself think?...

You’re right, it is being released after “Inside Out 2.” But it takes place before “Inside Out 2.” We assure you.

How do you know that it’s set before “Inside Out 2?”

Dream Productions
Image
Riding the coattails of the biggest animated film ever is no mean feat. And Dream Productions, a four-episode narrative series of 20-minute-ish episodes, feels like one of Pixar’s most ambitious small-screen efforts yet. Their TV spin-offs tend to be tiny animated snacks, often no more than 5 minutes at a time; this feels like a full meal, with a runtime that adds up to a full movie. Set between the two _Inside Out_films, you could almost think of it as Inside Out 2.5.

Happily, it’s also an absolute treat, expanding the psychologically rich and comedically fertile setting of a pre-teen’s brain in deeply satisfying ways. Dreams as a concept have already been briefly explored in the two Inside Out films, beginning with Pete Docter’s superlative 2015 smash and continued with Kelsey Mann’s solid sequel: a means of delving into unprocessed memories, the dreams themselves staged as if giant movie productions,...

Dream Productions TV Review: Pixar’s Inside Out spin-off is as good as the movies
Image
Plot: Taking place in between the events of Inside Out and Inside Out 2, it follows the studio inside Riley’s mind where dreams really do come true—every night, on time and on budget. Riley is growing up and when her memories need some extra processing, Joy and the rest of the Core Emotions send them to Dream Productions.

Review: Since the premiere of Disney+, the House of Mouse has mined all of their various properties for streaming adaptations, spin-offs, or tie-ins. Pixar, who are no stranger to creating quality short films, have offered a few projects that stretch the definition of what we would consider a series. The Toy Story spin-off Forky Asks a Question, Cars On the Road, and Up series Dug Days all had episodes that ran under ten minutes each, with the Monsters Inc. sequel series Monsters At Work reaching full half-hour installments but without...

When Is Dream Productions Set In The Inside Out Timeline?
Image
The following contains spoilers for "Dream Productions."

Given just how much of a stupendous hit "Inside Out 2" has become, taking the box office record for the highest grossing animated movie of all-time, it makes sense that Disney and Pixar aren't sleeping on their win and dropping a brand new spin-off series from the "Inside Out" world on Disney+. "Dream Productions" takes us back to the briefly glimpsed section of Riley's mind that keeps her brain buzzing while she's fast asleep. As a result, the likes of Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), and the rest of the emotions that reside in Headquarters are out of the picture, leaving a brand new bunch of characters to focus on.

The new four-part limited series sees dream director Paula Persimmon (Paula Pell) struggling with a bit of a creative slump that could impact her career at the studio. Her only choice is...

Image
It is no secret that Pixar hit the jackpot with Inside Out, an animation that resonated with audiences of varying demographics because of the personified emotions at the core of the film. The first installment followed Riley's (voiced by Kaitlyn Dias) mind while she was still a child. Years later, Inside Out 2 continued the character's journey by focusing on her transition to being a teenager, with new emotions joining Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Tony Hale), and Disgust (Liza Lapira). After the successful turnaround of the franchise, Pixar decided to further explore this universe by creating a short, spin-off series focused on Riley's dreams.

How 'Inside Out 2's Most Memorable Scene Evolved To Become Even More Heartbreaking
Image
If you managed to get through Pixar's summer blockbuster, Inside Out 2, without actually or almost crying then consider yourself lucky. The animated hit follows Riley's (Kensington Tallman) five emotions from the first film — Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Liza Lapira), and Fear (Tony Hale) — as they meet four new additions to headquarters: Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser), and Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos). Joy and Anxiety clash for control of Riley's mind, and their conflict finally culminates in the film's most heartbreaking scene, when Riley has an all-out anxiety attack in the middle of hockey tryouts.

10 TV Shows Where The Supporting Characters Are Better Than The Heroes
Image
TV shows need compelling protagonists, but some great shows end up having more interesting supporting characters. The main character is the one who advances the plot and carries the bulk of the show's drama, but this doesn't always guarantee that they will be the audience's favorite. Supporting characters have the opportunity to bring something different to the show, and they are unburdened by the need to directly impact the main plot.

Comedy shows are more likely to have supporting characters who outshine the protagonist. In drama shows, the story is usually too important, so the protagonist has to be the most interesting character or the entire show could fall flat. Comedy offers a bit more leniency, because audiences don't necessarily need to be captivated by the main character's personal journey to enjoy the humor of the show and the subplots.

“He couldn’t get through it”: One Scene in ‘The Office’ Was Too Much for Steve Carell That Became Impossible to Shoot
Image
If you’re a fan of The Office, you know that Steve Carell was made to play Michael Scott. Despite having numerous roles in his portfolio, his stint as the lovable regional manager will continue to stand out. While we agree that limiting an actor to one specific character is unfair, we can’t help it. Michael Scott is simply awesome.

A still from Phyllis’ Wedding in The Office | Credits: NBC

Steve Carell played the hell of Michael to the point that it was impossible to tell where the actor ended and the character began. Even though we love all the employees of Dunder Mifflin, it was Michael who turned the small mockumentary into one of the most binge-worthy shows of all time.

Carell’s comedic timing is no secret. He’d sail through hilarious scenes with ease but there was one moment on the show that turned out to...

‘Inside Out 2’ composer Andrea Datzman on the power of Pixar: ‘It’s not about going for the formula of what’s going to make people laugh’
Image
Few musicians know the world of Pixar and the Oscar-winning movie “Inside Out,” better than breakthrough composer Andrea Datzman. She worked with “Inside Out” composer Michael Giacchino for years before the blockbuster sequel, and Datzman received credit as the score coordinator on “Ratatouille,” “Up,” and “Inside Out,” among several other projects for the animation giant. So when she was approached to pick up the baton from Giacchino to write music for “Inside Out 2,” Datzman was thrilled by the challenge.

“It was a great responsibility here, not just with the message of the film and representing that musically in the most authentic way possible but also with the torch I was carrying forward,” Datzman tells Gold Derby. “The film is about demolition in some ways – and right from the start, they let you know that the world is changing inside of Riley, and they want to reflect that musically. So it was a great responsibility,...

Why Did The Office Completely Change Andy in the Final Season?

Quick Links The Departure of Michael Scott in The Office Andys Lovelorn Mistake Held Over by Holmes Hangover

The US version of The Office remains one of the best sitcoms produced. Throughout the series nine seasons, the Dunder Mifflin family and crew provided laughs to audiences and gained a solid fanbase that holds strong even a decade after the series finale. While fans fell in love with the endings for Michael, Jim, Pam, Dwight, and Angela, one series regular left off on such a sour note that viewers couldnt help but wonder what had happened. Andrew Bernard deserved so much better than his The Office finale. So why didnt the writers give it to him?

A leftover from Dunder Mifflin Stamford branchs merge with Scranton way back in Season 3, Andys (Ed Helms) introduction to the Scranton crew was chaotic. The ever-eager, uber-ambitious salesman stepped on a few toes with his...

The Office Review: The Legendary Workplace Comedy Just Misses Out On Perfection
Image
If any show disproves the idea that all remakes are rubbish, it's The Office. The Steve Carrell-led comedy, which first aired in 2005, was initially met with skepticism. Critics understandably raised concerns about how American optimism would combine with the caustic cynicism of Ricky Gervais' much-loved original, and early reactions suggested that The Office would go the way of other ill-advised trans-Atlantic TV clones. 19 years later, not only has The Office stepped out of the short-lived BBC series' shadow, but that it deserves to be considered on its own terms as one of the all-time great comedy series.

Inside Out 2 Proves Why Pixar Is Reversing Its Sequel Stance
Image
Inside Out 2 has become one of 2024s biggest successes, and its now proving why Pixar is reversing its stance on sequels. As its now a tradition for the studio, Pixar keeps releasing at least one movie per year, and 2024 saw the long-awaited release of Inside Out 2. Directed by Kelsey Mann, Inside Out 2 reunited the audience with Riley Andersen (voiced by Kensington Tallman), now a 13-year-old, and the emotions in charge of everything at the Headquarters in her head: Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Disgust (Liza Lapira), Fear (Tony Hale), and Anger (Lewis Black).

Inside Out 2 follows Riley as she enters puberty and attends a weekend hockey camp with her best friends, who tell her they wont be attending the same high school. To make it more complicated for Riley, a group of new emotions arrive at the Headquarters: Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment. Anxiety takes over,...
